I am looking to transition from corporate leadership and training development/ training into the humanitarian sector. I am seeing absolutely no jobs in this field (of course there are those in MEAL, but this is quite different than internal training/ learning, though I'd be open to doing both internal and external leadership/ training). For those of you that have been in international development, what, if any, leadership and exec training/ onboarding/ manager development support/ coaching did you receive? Where did this come from (did your company have a leadership development team/ resource)? I would be grateful for any advice/ recommendations on whether this field even exists in the humanitarian sector, and how I can use my 20+ years of leadership, coaching, and organizational development experience to transition into international development?

One of my best friends moved across the country for service in the navy and I was thinking of flying to see him for his upcoming birthday. Would a surprise like that be a burden as an active service member? Do you work weekends? He lives off base and I’d still get a hotel but I don’t know how any of that works. He doesn’t really let on as far as what his daily/ weekly demands are and rarely talks about work in general.
He has always come to me but it’s just been more than a year since I’ve seen him. I would fly there just to take him for a beer if that’s what he has time for.

last week my parents found out that i had been smoking weed and they tested me. i tested positive for THC, cocaine, and benzos. i was shocked by this so i did another test and tested positive for THC and cocaine. 2 days later, my parents tested me and i tested positive for THC and cocaine again. i dont know why i keep testing cocaine positive but i thought that maybe it had something to do with the fact that i take prozac. the last time i smoked weed was the night before my parents first tested me. im almost certain that my cart isnt laced. i really hope someone can tell me why this is happening because my parents think im a cokehead and this is a terrible situation im in.

Hi i (19 f) have a really good friend (21 m) and i feel like we have tension. He constantly tries to annoy me and bullies me in a joking way. We are very touchy with each other but he send mixed signals. For example he pull me into a hug then kind of just push me away. Tonight I was upset and when to his dorm and he helped me out but we were in his bed and i was scrolling through cute animal pictures and he said something like “I feel like this is what a relationship is like” and then we ended up talking a little about that and he said he wouldn’t want to date anyone right this second. That being said I feel like when ever I am with him one on one one of us ends up bringing up the topic of dating. He’s super sweet but I am terrified of fucking up the friendship. Another thing to include is that i am also maybe leaving this college. He said he would consider visiting me at the new college. so, I'm in chorus. she's in chorus. we got selected to leave the school campus to go do a chorus thing at a church back in November. this kid is short. like... really short. about as tall as my 8 year old cousin. I was standing with her and my best friend, just talking. I said something about height. it wasn't even offensive, y'all. it was objective and not meant to hurt her in anyway and then she actually started kicking me. and then punching me in THE VULNERABLE AREAS (like the stomach) bro I didn't tell our chorus teacher who wasn't in the room, but maybe I should have. also, according to my teacher, later on at rehearsals for this thing (and since we're in different grades we were in different choirs) she wasn't listening to the director and had on headphones and was on her phone all through rehearsal. that's a big no-no. and she also didn't sing. how she got into that program, I have no idea. and I never want to talk to her again because it seriously hurt when she lashed out at me. and then she kept chasing after me. I told her several times to stop because she hurt me, and she wouldn't. when she finally did, she acted like nothing happened. that girl really needs to work on herself. if I can do it, so can she.
