2025.01.22 08:54 Specific-B9704 Is it true that getting a stab right into my belly would be the main risk for me, as a tall guy, if I'd fence on real rapiers?

I (22m) am a 6'5 tall fencer, practicing historicsl fencing. One of my friends, who's a shorter fencer, told me that I should guard my belly mostly, since, especially in a real sword fight, my belly would be the main target for shorter opponents. I can see it myself actually as I usually get stabbed into my stomach by short fencers, especially on counterattacks. But if I'd fight on real rapiers the short opponents would concentrate particularly on my belly even more, cause its a soft target with no bones and the blade cannot get stuck in it like in the ribs, for example. And belly stabs are the most brutal ones. So, I should learn guarding my belly very well!
What are your thoughts on that?

I heard something about Habbo hotel moving over the Unity in 2020. And I'm really curious how do you think that Habbo hotel did their modular clothing. They have an expansive character creator for a 2D pixelart game, and as somebody looking to get started on a 2D pixelart game of my own with a modular clothing / armor system, I would love to know how they did it.
My first guess is that an animater has been drawing every animation for every piece of clothing by hand. But there are so many variations?

I evaluate the option to get my first VPS for webhosting. I want to change my hoster from a default webhosting to a VPS, for performance reasons.
I have 4 wordpress sites with very low traffic.
First at all here is my environment that I have in my mind:

So my question is, do I see this a litttle bit too easy?
My worry is that I miss something like firewall, security etc. because I don't know what I have to mange my VPS vs. a hosting offer.

I attended Coldplay's "Music of the Spheres" concert on January 19th, and here’s my perspective on the event:

  1. The show was nothing short of brilliant, beautiful, and awe-inspiring. The memories are still fresh in my mind, and the excitement hasn’t faded.
  2. While I wished the concert had lasted a little longer, I completely understand that the band performed the previous night as well and must have been exhausted. Despite that, they delivered an outstanding performance, keeping the crowd entertained from start to finish.
  3. The crowd was mostly great; however, I did have a minor unpleasant experience. I tried to move closer to the stage but was pushed back by a lady who even got into an argument with a couple attempting the same. While I understand personal space, it's important to allow everyone to enjoy the experience equally, especially when everyone has paid for the event. On the other hand, there were people smoking weed who were relaxed and didn’t bother others, adding to the overall vibe of the show.
  4. The lighting effects were phenomenal and didn’t strain the eyes. The fireworks, especially when viewed through the moon goggles, were absolutely spectacular.
  5. The security team did an excellent job managing the event and ensuring everyone's safety.
  6. I noticed some individuals taking the wristbands home, despite staff requesting their return. It was disheartening to see such behavior, as these bands are meant for everyone to enjoy during the event.
  7. One improvement could be extending the food stall hours until the end of the concert. Many of us were starving afterward, as true fans wouldn’t want to miss even a moment of such an extraordinary show to grab food or drinks.
Overall, while there were some minor inconveniences, the concert left me with unforgettable memories. I thoroughly enjoyed and loved every moment of it—it truly fixed me.

Hallo ihr Lieben, da derzeit wieder Kamelien in die Supermarktangebote rutschen, dachte ich mir, dass ich mir mal bei euch Tipps holen könnte.
Und zwar möchte ich seit Jahren eine Kamelie haben, allerdings sind bisherige Versuche kläglich gescheitert (die armen Pflanzen). Eine ist nicht richtig angewachsen, eine ist dem Rüsselkäfer zum Opfer gefallen und die dritte ist nur vor sich hingekümmert. Alle haben erstmal alle Blüten abgeschmissen, kurz nachdem ich sie Zuhause hatte (ich habe gelesen, dass das am Standortwechsel liegt?).
Folgende Fragen habe ich: - Wo sollte ich mir eine gesunde Kamelie besorgen? Supermarkt wird es wohl nicht sein, gell. Gleich beim Gärtner? - Gibt es "anfängerfreundliche" Sorten? - Ich würde sie gern im Kübel auf der Terasse halten. Ausrichtung wäre Westen im Innenhof. Das sollte passen, oder? - Sollte ich beim Kübel auf etwas achten?
Generell würde ich mich über jeden Ratschlag freuen, den ihr mir geben könnt. Ich habe mich vor Jahren in Japan in Kamelien verliebt und trauere jedesmal, wenn ich wieder eine Pflanze "ermordet" habe. 🙈

We played for a while, and it was fun. The game was a racing game, and we competed against each other. He was better than me, but I didn't mind. I enjoyed his company, as usual.
