2025.01.22 11:03 khyplionna What does it mean when I mostly have to initiate dates/hangouts ?
I've (25F) been seeing a man (41M) for ~7 months now and I've noticed that although we initiate texting pretty much 50/50 and he always responds within an appropriate timeframe, I'm the one who mostly initiates dates/hanging out. We talk almost everyday too, at the very least to ask how we're doing/what we're up to and say goodnight.
So far he pretty much always agrees to these encounters and what I'm suggesting (not just sexual in nature, it could be going to the movies, to dinner, hanging out at his place, etc), but I'm just wondering why he's not initiating more and what it could mean.
He has initiated some dates in the past and suggested some things too so I know it's not a matter of "he's just not like that", but I feel like right now I have to be the one to do it all and it doesn't sit right with me.
Is it necessarily a lack of interest ?
PS : yes I know there's an age gap, I'm really not here to talk about that.

Following that blasted update I'm thinking my options are 1) trade-in the 4a for a 9 and use the £100 voucher to bring it down 2) Replace the battery myself and wait for the 9a or iPhone 16e/SE4.
I have two questions for you all:-
- When I put in the details for trade-in from the Pixel 4a to Pixel 9, the estimated value is £243. Has anyone done this and actually got anywhere near that amount? I'm trying to work out if they really do refund you anything like this amount or if it's misleading and I'm just missing something. Like most of us here, the battery is screwed after the update, but not sure if they're taking that into account (any pros and cons of the Pixel 9 welcome, by the way!)
- I've seen you can buy battery replacement kits, with or without the tools needed. Has anyone tried this themselves? I'm in the UK, I don't know how much getting a battery replaced in a shop is (or where you'd go), so don't want to spend a lot of money on that in case it doesn't work.

You see the Holocaust as the worst of humanity but you speak of it as if it were over.
The killing still exists, only it’s called something else.
It claims more lives today than it did the way you remember it. 6 million innocent souls were lost between 1941-1945.
But the one I speak of claims 100 billion lives.
Every.
Single.
Year.
Over 45 Holocausts…every single day.
The animal product industry. That’s what we called it.
If you say it’s not okay to do it to people, then how can you justify doing it to animals?
Im glad to not be a part of the worst of humanity. Just a little something I wrote recently. How ironic is it that people are so against the rounding up of innocent souls and killing them when they themselves support the animal product industry.
Seeing people so riled up all over the internet today over this situation - going so far as to boycott anything related to Elon.
A life is a life. Most of these people are going to go home and have a nice meal that was produced through a very similar method. The Holocaust was awful. And so is the slaughtering of innocent animals.
I'd share this elsewhere but nobody else is going to see this for what it is other than the people in this sub. The sad truth of the world we live in is that most people don't value animal life and human life the same. I hope this changes some day.
