I took over Mechelen in Belgium and a year after fighting off relegation, we won the double. Croky Cup and the League title. The encore wasn't as good, but 2nd in the league and making it out of the CL League Phase (Fought to a 3-3 draw with Liverpool) ain't bad.
And then, my mistake, I was offered a job at Newcastle, which would give me 10x in salary and transfer budget. I took it. And now, my save is ruined. Just dealing with massive wages and budgets that I didn't earn feels so empty.
I guess back to a new game. Be careful taking that new job, guys.

Talking amongst my uni peers, I think the general consensus is that we, the class of 2024 & 2025, really got the short end of the stick.
After suffering through the Covid pandemic in our freshmen years in uni, we then graduated in possibly the worst job market since 2008/2009 (Especially the case for tech and finance sectors).
Those who did manage to secure jobs like me, are faced with a tumultous and uncertain global economy with Trump returning, growing threats of war in Europe, Middle east still in conflict, and China being China as usual. Im no expert, but this doesnt seem like an ideal period for the investment market at all
Some of my friends are predicting an imminent market downturn in the upcoming years, and some have even given up on aggressive investing and have resorted to buying SSB aka the safe route.
So I really only have 2 life financial goals: 1. Own my own HDB unit 2. Retire by around age 50 (Optional stretch goal)
But yeah goal 1 is already looking near impossible for me as a single guy from a mid-low SES family, making around median fresh grad salary. So I cant even begin to imagine how I can remotely achieve goal 2 with my current situation.
Ive alr done the basics of accumulating 6+ months worth of emergency funds in a high interest account, cleared all debt, plus secured appropriate insurance. Am currently reading up on ETF investments as a potential next step. But honestly im abit discouraged from even starting to invest, with a bad economic outlook all round.
What do you experts here think, are my fears valid? What is a good approach to start one's investment journey for myself or those just entering the workforce in this current economy? Or Should I just continue to lay down and cry myself to sleep everyday? Knowing I will never get out of being a perpetual work slave in this capitalistic hellscape lol

Four years ago, I got off early from work and was driving back home to pick up stuff for gym . As I made my way to my house and my garage door was open and my wife's car and another car were parked there. Didn’t think too much of it at the time I parked over the street and went I entered my house,. The moment I walked in, I could hear the bed in one of our guest bedrooms above me bouncing and rocking as well as very loud moans that was obviously rough sex. I stood in shock and disbelief what I was hearing, but I wasn’t angry if anything I was curious. I slowly and quietly moved up the stairs. I could see from the hall almost from the tops of the stairs I could see my wife bent over doggie style, I watch for what felt like eternity before she was picked up and slammed against the wall being fucked even further. Lots moaning and groaning, lots of loud filthy talk from her and wanting to fucked over and over and I quietly ran out and snuck out to my car, and turned the corner and I watched them leave after almost an hour minutes later However our marriage is great. Like, totally totally great. We have sex constantly, date nights and what have you, we're completely in love. We have twins and our careers and lives are awesome. Over the years, I drive by the house during lunch and the guys car is there couple times a month and I know what is happening and im content with this if my wife finds out I‘m aware, I’ll let her know I’m completely cool with it because our marriage couldn’t be anymore perfect. If this is what she needs to do to keep the marriage stable and keeps herself happy, I'm totally with it. The thing is if she ever figures out I know, I’m gonna tell her that I’m alright with it and she can continue because our marriage is perfect and if she needs this to keep it stable, then I’m all for it.

-The affair partner is an ex bf of hers from college. I have a friend in the force do a check on his car as well as a mate who is a PI and we checked him out. He’s married with kids. With everything I have checked I can see my marriage is no danger

I have a 7 year old and one year old that I am the default parent too, my hubby is really panicking about being left alone with them and the Labrador which he was very reluctant to get. I had my phone call from nuclear medicine yesterday and although she didn't tell me the exact dose, she did say this is just a preventative as my papillary measured 5.5cm, no spread so I will be getting the lowest possible dose, it tends to be a little quicker to leave the body with people my age but we'll know for sure when they discharge me two days after treatment how long I have to be away from my kids. My dog could even come with me to my parents where I'll isolate as long as I don't cuddle up to her so I can still walk her if I really want to. Can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. 6 years I had that nodule and they never mentioned a possibility of cancer until they found it after partial, was still breastfeeding a 10 month old that only wanted mummy at the time so it's been such a whirlwind since last August. I have everything crossed that drs are right and once this preventive rai is done next week, I can start moving on with my life.
