2025.01.22 11:05 Marko_gnr New player and I don't see the point of unlocking the camera 99% of the time
I've only been playing for a month and my friends told me that learning unlocked camera is gonna be essential if i wanna get good, but to me it just makes the game uglier and more micromanaging.
I pretty much exclusively play Sylas mid lane (occasionally Ekko) and everything i need to see i can with a locked camera or my minimap, otherwise it's just blacked out because i have no vision there. I also have a pretty wide monitor so maybe that helps?
I'm just wondering if its worth it to play unlocked or if it's not that necessary.

Started up my first honor mode run, lvl 4 atm and a smooth ride so far. I now want to start buildning my comp for the rest of the run.
Will be an good run with Tav (swords bard) as party Face.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed with all other great combination for my team, would love some pointers.

2025.01.22 11:05 aqua_rift Hot take: I donât like engineer from a game design standpoint
To clarify, I love engie even as he is now. I like his buildings and team support a lot, and I especially love the tomfoolery you can get up to with his various playstyles. The only thing I donât really like about him is how he gets in the way of other classes and what they do for the team.
TF2 is an inherently team based game, itâs literally in the name, but I feel anyone only ever works as a team if they are either in a call together or have an engineer. Thatâs the problem I have with engie, and to a lesser extent, medic. He is every form of team support at once. Need some quick healing and donât have a medic? Go to a dispenser (dispenser courtesy of engie). Playing heavy and need to get to the frontlines? Use the teleporter dumbass (teleporter courtesy of engie). Went too deep into enemy lines and need to get back to safety? Find a sentry and itâll mow down whoever is on your tail (sentry courtesy of engie).
Engie IS the team, without him, itâs highly unlikely the team will win. But I suppose this is what you get when you bundle 80% of the gameâs team support into 1 class. On a side note, did you know how many times the TF2 devs wanted to make a new PDA that replaces one of his buildings, but scrapped it because it was typically worse off than just using stock and a genuine detriment to the team to use? Like 3 whole times I think. That puts it into perspective somewhat just how much rests on engieâs shoulders ALONE. Some people are fine with it, which I get, but it really undermines what other classes can do for their team, which I donât like.
Team support is very important for a coherent team, so when the most significant forms of it are exclusive to 2 classes, you tend to get a lot of drifters who run into enemies alone and refuse to stick with the team. TF2 isnât the only team based shooter Iâve played (shocker) and I can tell you with certainty that a ROBLOX GAME has better team co-ordination than TF2.
So, I e had a long enough rant about engie and youâre probably on the verge of replying to this post with that âI ainât reading allat đâ image, so I might as well suggest something interesting and/or constructive to my argument. If I had it my way, spy would be the one to place teleporters, and heavy would be the one to place dispensers. Each of these buildings would take up the primary slot. Engineers would be there to place sentries and upgrade other playerâs buildings. I feel like dividing up the buildings in this manner helps alleviate the problem, and makes for some interesting playstyles for the classes that can build them. You could equip the sandvich and dispenser, and go full support heavy, or you could go with the shotgun to help protect you your precious dispenser. Spy on the other hand could sneak behind enemy lines to place cheeky teleporters behind the team, or be normal and place them in actually helpful spots. Iâm no master of game design (quite frankly, Iâm also and idiot) but having it this way would encourage a lot more teamwork and have some interesting benefits for other classes.
