I have a DS920+ with 4x8tb in a RAID5, it's getting a bit low on storage and a bit long in the tooth, I do not want to do a teardown and rebuild of the array as i dont have enough isolated storage to cover everything it's holding, so i'm looking to take the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, getting a newer larger NAS wtih 6 slots (and only filling 4 so i have room to expand) with a bunch of 14tb drives.
I mainly use hte NAS for storing photos, desktop backups and video streaming via plex. I have plex lifetime so do have the server transcoding functionality available. I know some of the synology NASes removed the onboard GPU from the CPUs a while ago, so i was hoping folks might point me in the direction of the better chassis that are 6 or 8 bays which can support at least 12tb drives (hopefully higher) and maybe, ideally have a GPU, or at least a CPU that's good enough to transcode some concurrent 1080 streams? (I dont host 4k content via plex, that's family content only that's access via SMB)

2025.01.22 11:40 _Dyno- Cubase update killed Opus

Any idea how to fix this or what's going on? I finally decided to move to Cubase Artist edition as I'm sick of not having the amount of tracks I require. For the most part this was a smooth process except for Opus. I've currently kept Elements 13 installed too as I expected a problem tbh.
The issue seems to come from Opus not registering as a VST. Opus would usually appear in the VST's in the menu on the right under the category other along with things like Kontact. For me it's no longer there in Cubase Artist 14 is on 13 LE. It still appears under the sampling category but that's kind of a massive inconvenience when I can't say for certain if it has the same functionality and would have to delete and reapply every instrument.
Is there some way I can force this? I tried reinstalling Opus itself but that didn't seem to help either. I'm not really sure what I can do to correct it other than not use either Opus or Artist and I'd kinda got them to be used in tandem

Hi everyone, I’ve been searching for similar posts about this topic but haven’t found any, so I decided to ask it myself.
For context, I’m currently a fourth-year student, and I’ve gone through multiple thesis title proposals. Unfortunately, none have been fully approved yet. Some resulted into pending, some were marked as conditional, and some are rejected. This led to an incomplete (INC) grade in two of my thesis-related subject. Recently, I received a conditional failure for the most recent thesis-related subject that are prerequisite of those two.
This upcoming semester, third-year students will begin taking the same thesis-related subject where I got my first INC. For me, this will also be my last chance to complete the subject. If I don’t manage to get an approved thesis title by the end of this upcoming semester, my INC grade will convert to a failure, and I’ll have to retake the course.
So here’s my dilemma: I’m currently solo in this thesis-subject, but since the third-year students will be starting theirs at the same time as my next title proposal, I’m wondering—would it be allowed for me to group up with lower-year students for our thesis?
I understand that this likely depends on university policies, department guidelines, or decisions made by the thesis adviser or faculty. I plan to discuss this with my adviser once the upcoming semester starts, but for now, I’d like to know if anyone here has encountered a similar situation.
Have you or your classmates ever been in this position? Was it allowed in your university/department? If so, was there a specific process to make it happen? How about conditions to be met for it to happen? I know I have lots of questions hahaha so any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
