2025.01.22 13:00 3Naito3 Will high humidity and relatively low temperature cause damage?
I moved to Portugal recently and have some concerns about high indoor humidity and relatively low temperature during winter months. There is a desktop PC and a gamig laptop in use, and some computer parts stored, all in a humid room.
- The PC is in use for about 4-5 hours a day. Usually under light to medium workload, the CPU temperatures range between 60°C / 140 °F to 70°C / 158 °F, GPU around the same.
- The laptop is turned on for about 11-12 hours a day. During most of the day with light use, CPU cores are at around 30 °C / 86 °F, GPU at 25 °C / 77 °F. In the evenings when I play for a bit, both CPU and GPU get to about 60 °C / 140 °F, sometimes 70 °C / 158 °F.
- The PC parts stored: a motherboard with CPU cooling fan attached, wrapped in bubble wrap; and a GPU in its original box, but not unopened. These were brought here about 4 months ago and hadn't been unwrapped since.
These conditions last a few months each year, usually starting in early December and ending in late February / early March. Are the laptop, PC, and the PC parts in danger from condensation?

I’ve been annoyed at how tepid my shower water is for years (think 80°, I measured). I knew how to fix it but I always forgot about it till it was time to get in the shower. I finally thought about it before it got used and now it gets plenty hot. Turns out I’m a lot less flakey without booze, even being California sober. Anyone else feel like they’re getting their brain back? Not only that but accomplishing that made me want to jump into the other backlogged stuff.
