Title is a little clickbait, but yeah, this is just something I figured out over time and may help other people. Basically it's something you can do which over time should rewire your brain a little if you suffer from anxiety about eye contact. The goal is to get a picture of a person head on, usually on a PC screen where the head is cropped and as big as the screen/a normal head. You may think "oh just stare into there eyes and I'll get used to it", that didn't work for me. It wasn't something I felt at all relatable to a real person, the anxiety of what they was thinking of me is what made me scared to death and ultimately made me feel like I'm a weird human. But the more I stared at this face on a screen, the more I realised that the only reason I'm not feeling anxiety staring at a faces eyes on a screen is because I simply did not care, because I knew that person is just an image, the persons thoughts of me are non existent therefore I don't care about staring into their eyes. Well, isn't this relatable to real life? If you just do not care about the persons mind, you actually and fully eradicate the thoughts of what they are thinking, to the point that they are just a picture on a screen, you no longer care about maintaining eye contact. You are aleady capable of doing so if you dont get anxiety looking at the screen, that is already a tool set you have, its not eyes that scare you, its their mind. Your immediate thoughts when you lock eyes with someone is "oh god", but the next time that happens, just think "why is this different from me staring at a screen", keep asking yourself it. Over time you may start to rewire your brain. It's something you really need to think about deeply to get into your mind for it to have value, but I hope it helps someone.

The idea that children should learn through natural consequences comes from Jean Jacques Roussau’s (1700s poet) philosophy on parenting. This man had children of his own, but he abandoned them so he did not try out his own model practically. It’s just a really well thought out and interesting philosophy, but to give some food for thought I’d like to criticize this idea:
Firstly, does not-yet developed humans have the ability to learn from each of their mistakes or is it more likely that they are going to keep being reactive and repeat? -If a child is to be dominating other children then he will probably continue to. A consequence of this would probably lead to other children bending to his will and may start to devalue their own feeling just to avoid conflicts or maybe straight up hitting back. This behavior could follow them for a long time especially if not actively worked on.
I believe children sometimes need the help of a parent to just say ”slow down, lets think about what just happened” because I dont see children initiate this thought reflection by them self. If everything was to be learned the hard way, wouldn’t their behavior become more reactive and selfish?

As an always tired third year college student, it gives me immeasurable happinness kapag wala akong tupad. For context, I'm a choir member, and I'm sure most of you here know how demanding it can be. From twice a week practice and twice a week tupad. This doesn't include the everyday practice when there's an upcoming event (mid-year and year-end thanksgiving and holy supper).
I always look forward on seeing the words, "wala kayong tupad this week" announced by our pangulong mang-aawit. I was not able to attend our monthly meeting because my class schedule is evening. Before, it would totally bum me out when I don't have tupad, but now, I'm just so fucking happy because it will lessen my responsibility within this church.
I still have to attend pagsamba because I don't want hear questions on why I didn't attend.
