Hello, I took this picture at 6:18 this morning (Jan 22) in Greenlawn. Something broke up in a seemingly perfect line and then disappeared. If you zoom in you can get a little more detail. It looked like 18+ perfectly aligned “stars” when I first looked up.

2025.01.22 12:59 Cren Just bought a M1S... Does Armbian support it?
Hey I finally got PayPal to process on HKs website. I was looking for a replacement for my RPi (1) B with Ethernet, USB3 and a low power drain for Syncthing, light NAS and tinkering. My choice fell on the M1S where I can even use my spare SSD. Now I was starting to look through the documentation and I only saw Ubuntu images and Android. Does it run something similar to Raspbian? I'm used to that and I'd like something closer to Debian than Ubuntu. So I found Armbian which sounds interesting, but the supported listing only name the M1 which afai understand it is different in some regards to the M1S regarding implementation. I read that porting over would allegedly easy on HK but I'm not sure what it means in the end. Im planning to run it headless (I think is the correct term... Through SSH) I'm new-ish to networking/NAS etc so please excuse myle if my questions are noonish.
If you got any other recommendation I'm open to that as well.
My knowledge of Linux in general is ok I guess as I run OpenSUSE on my Desktop. I can handle a few guides and bash isn't scary anymore.

Do I need to change the model because I have this model and I heard people saying that it does not play all games and in fact there are games that do not work this is a problem with OPL because it is old. 2025.01.22 12:59 etharis Need some help with doing a full backup of a system drive
Hey PCMR, I want to replace my system NVME drive, but I am not sure about the best way to do it.
I wanted to do a full image backup that I could restore to the drive. My ideal steps are this.
- full backup of the drive
- remove the drive and replace it with an empty larger drive
- use the backup (or some other software) to boot into some kind of drive restore interface and write the backed-up image to the new drive.
Back in the old days of Windows 98 I used to use Acronis for this, but I don't know if that is still good to use and of course its a subscription for 50 dollars a year now.
I don't mind paying for software to get this done. Ideally I would avoid a subscription if I could. (I mean seriously how often do I do this??)
There used to be a pretty useful utility in Windows 7 that would do this too I think, but I don't even know if that is still supported.
Kind of lost and could use some help.

Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich eine Episode des Der Tag-Podcast über Krankheitstagen in Deutschland gehört und es gab mir die Idee, einen Beitrag darüber zu schreiben, wie das hier funktioniert. Wie es der Zufall wollte, war ich diese Woche krank. Es ist ziemlich einfach - auf der Webseite (oder der App) der Krankenkasse kann ich einen Antrag auf Krankheitstage an meine Hausärztin schicken. In der Vergangenheit mussten die Ärzte selbst den Antrag genehmigen, aber vor ein paar Monaten wurde ein neues Gesetz verabschiedet, das die Arbeitsbelastung der Ärzte verringern soll. Das war sinnvoll, da sie in dem ganzen Prozess nicht mehr als ein Stempel waren. Jetzt aber bekommt man die Krankheitstage sofort automatisch (es gibt einige Vorbehalte und Fälle, in denen ein Arzt hinzugezogen werden muss). In meiner Firma wird der erste Krankheitstag von den Urlaubstagen abgezogen. Das Ergebnis ist, dass es sich für mich nicht lohnt, nur einen oder zwei Krankheitstage zu nehmen, also nehme ich normalerweise zumindest drei. Dieses Mal habe ich vier Krankheitstage genommen.
