My friend witnessed literal theft in at the front entrance of Kelly Library yesterday. A car stops and the passenger wants to pay with debit, the driver says only cash or credit is excepted. The passenger asks some student who was waiting at the Kelly entrance to help pay with credit card and that he will give cash in return. The student pulls out credit card, puts it in the machine and types in password. The car immediately drives off with that persons card. The girl who was robbed was also a uoft student heading home after studying.
Please be aware and don’t fall for scams like this! It was a black/dark blue car with two brown people.

Hi im looking for at least 2 roomates to either get a place together or coordinate with my current landlord to sign a new lease for may. (I do currently have 1 room available now just needs to be cleaned out)
My current place is in the midway area near university and fairview. Access to the green line and multiple buss stops in a 10-15 min walk. 4br 2bath, rent 2300 (split 4ways 575, 3ways 766.67) Gas/electric runs on average 150-300 depending. Water and sewage is paid quarterly and im not sure the amount. Very nice kitchen with dishwasher and gas stove. Lots of counter space and an island In unit laundry in the basement with an unused bar so ig partially finished basement Back yard has a patio, a shed and off street parking for 2 cars All bedrooms except mine can hold a queen bed and desk setup easily. Bedrooms available are on the second floor and attic Cat and enclosure pet friendly. I have aquariums.
If you are looking for roomates here is my ideal home and a bit about me. House > Apartment Central ac prefered (ik unlikely in mn) Baseboard heaters > standing radiators Dish washer prefered 2 well kitchen sink with sprayer if no dishwasher In home washedryer required Modern tub in bathroom prefered No/minimal carpet Pets allowed (i have fish) At least 3 people splitting the bills Split rent around 600/mo each (max775) Utilities around 200/mo No large or energetic dogs
Im an introvert that enjoys gaming and making art occasionally. Im a bit of a night owl with weird sleeping patterns bc of insomnia. Im generally pretty quiet at night tho. I typically try to make sure the dishes get done every 2-3 days so it doesn't get too overwhelming and i do laundry probably every other week. I like going to karaoke night at blackheart on Tuesdays and occasionally go to ground zero or the saloon with friends for events like drag shows. I want to be able to have meals together occasionally. Sex and kink positive, id like to have roomates that are fine with those kinds of parties on a small scale in the future. I work 4 days a week as a fishmonger and tend to spend one weekend overnight at my partners place.

Leading up to Christmas, my wife had been sick for 2 - 3 weeks, getting more tired and progressively weaker. She works a high stress job as an ER Physician. She was supposed to work Christmas Day and the 26th. I was going to go to my parents house for Christmas eve (2 hrs away) and comeback Christmas Day before she got off work.
She was feeling pretty terrible but said it was getting better, and got someone to take her shift on Christmas day. She didn't want me to miss Christmas with my family, so I made her a promise that I would be back earlier to spend the afternoon with her.
The thing is, she wasn't just a little sick, her liver was failing. And because her liver was failing, her kidneys were starting to fail. She had an infection that would have normally not been a big deal, but because her liver wasn't working it completely took over.
Christmas morning she didn't answer her phone, and I white knuckled the 2 hour drive back home. I listened to an audiobook, but I can't remember a single thing that happened in the plot. When I got home she was unresponsive on the couch. Ambulance came, she was taken to the ER, and admitted to the ICU. After nearly a month of battling the infection, crying nearly every day, thinking things would get better and planning our next steps in recovery together... my wife passed away earlier this week,
I had tried to get us both to stop or cut back on alcohol, but we were both so stressed from work, from life, from our circumstances, we had unhealthy coping habits. There is still alcohol in my house, but I am so disgusted and saddened by the thought of it that I have no desire to even touch it. For now it is 'out of sight, out of mind' but I will be working with friends to clear it out in the coming weeks.
Thank you for letting me share, I've been reading your stories on and off for the last year or two and now it is my turn to contribute.
I can't promise tomorrow, next week, next month, but I will not drink with you today.

Hi everyone! My partner and I are considering what places to move to after I get my electricians license in a couple of years. We live on the East Coast and are sick of the cold and crazy winters and Vegas is one of the city's at the top of our list!
I'm curious how day to day life is in the city and what kind of jobs are available for electricians. I'm also a bit worried about the heat because ive lived in the cold for so long but I also do roof work in the summer so I'm somewhat used to extreme heat if I can get adequate shade breaks.
What's it like living near all these casinos? What are the vibes of the different neighborhoods? What's something that might not even cross my mind when thinking about moving. Please share what you know!

Graphic Designer by trade (started pre-canva days) and I convinced my super corporate job to implement canva for our team. All of our designers love it (glad to work on a team of non-pretentious people). It makes it so easy to collab with our non-design colleagues and has saved us so much time in emails and multiple versions of PDFs flying back and forth to our copywriters.
All to say, I LOVE canva, but I am dreaming of some of the most basic features. I understand the business model was to try to be early to AI, which is great, but we are struggling here. I have LOVED how Canva has improved my workflow, but I am also spending a lot of time using work-arounds to accommodate basic features that are missing.
Some of my most dreamed of "features":
- Rounding corners individually
- Warp/Skew/Transform abilities
- KERNING. PLEASE. I'm BEGGING
- Pathfinder options. (Unite/minus)
- Custom Shortcuts - this might be too much to ask. Would be awesome to have a shortcut for actions, but also something like adding the logo to the canvas would be a huge time saver.
