First time melatonin user. What to expect?

I’m in the UK and found the piping rock loophole to getting some melatonin in. I’ve ordered 3mg and was planning on halving it for the first time. I’m on mirtazapine and do take promethazine, but only a small amount to support with sleep as I’m a chronic insomniac.
I’m hoping to not take the promethazine anymore so was hoping to substitute with melatonin. I’m really hoping it works but don’t want to set my hopes too high. I need beta blockers for day time panic and my heart rate is always through the roof but I can’t take them because they deplete melatonin production so I’m hoping it gets me out of that hole as I just cannot sleep if I take them.
Is 1.5mg ok for the first time? And does it work on most people?

Does anyone know of or Remember the old video where he was in Germany and was filling a rental car with diesel and talking about winter diesel vs summer and how they take the wax out of the winter diesel and your getting ripped off per litre(less btu), and I think it was the same video when he went to a German mechanical museum.

My brother and his wife had their baby last August. She unfortunately had severe gender disappointment when she found out she was having a boy. I believe she got over it.
Well. I am now pregnant, 13W2D. I chose to do NIPT which she and my brother did not. Baby came back low risk for everything and we know our gender! It’s a girl!
I guess this last Sunday when I was not there ( my other brother told me of this situation) she absolutely tore into us for getting the testing when it’s “so expensive”, how you should just wait for the anatomy scan and that I could still have a boy despite my results coming back as girl and she claimed I was selfish to want to know this early on.
Mind you, I got the testing done due to being in a high risk pregnancy and it is my first baby. I did not do it just to know the gender.
I know It’s not 100%, we could still potentially be having a boy, and we’ll confirm at our anatomy scan.
I feel like I’m overreacting, but I can’t feel like she’s being incredibly spiteful and mean. My husband said it struck him as her being jealous that we’re getting what she initially wanted and I just UGH. Why can’t people just be happy for other people?

I dont have any of the store bought cultured buttermilk but I do have some heavy whipping cream to make some butter later.
