Hey, i have a cd/dvd player that i didnt use since 2015s. And rn i want to buy album cds. But im not sure if the player is still working. I tried old cds (movies) but it couldnt opened the movies. But still I’m not sure if the player is working or not because the movies were so old. Is there any specific way that I can understand the machine is working or not? Thanks

I'm 34 years old and new to Revit, having just completed two months of training. I recently received a project involving piping, sanitary, and gas systems, and I'm looking for good learning resources. I came across BIM Pure, but I noticed it requires a subscription fee. For those who've used it, is it worth the investment for someone at my level? Would you recommend it for both learning the basics and advancing my skills?
I also have a programming background, which has sparked my interest in exploring Revit custom plugins and the API. I’d love to get advice from those experienced in this area:

Right now I am going to a finance academy, and I study 6 courses that consist of: accounting, economy, statistics and finance and ethics, which allows me to get a job in investment funds and hedge funds, as well as investment houses and banks. After I complete the exams that are NOT through the academy but rather are through the government and allows me to get a license to open a special investment bank account. My main concern in that I will not have a degree in my name and I don't know if i would be able to complete an MBA scholarship while working at a company, and I was wondering if the experience i get will be enough to compensate for my lack of degree?
probably the entry job that i will get is to manage pension money and investment money, and was wondering what do you guys thing is my career progression can look like?
(for anyone wondering, the academy is only to prepare for the government exams, and I am from Israel)

I have my colonoscopy tomorrow and I took my laxatives today at 2pm and I’ve had nothing to eat since yesterday evening, but it’s only 4.50pm and my appointment isn’t until 3.30 tomorrow, how am I supposed to eat nothing until then? I’m drinking water but obviously it’s not helping! I have to cook dinner for the kids in a minute and i honestly don’t know if I have the willpower to not eat anything. The laxatives aren’t even working yet either. I know this is a pointless post i guess I’m just looking for some advice or support or something.

I’m looking to purchase a 5th gen prelude. I found a close one with a salvage title and bad motor for 2.5k. Seller says the salvage title is from a previous accident but all panel gaps look good in photos. Clear coat is faded but exterior looks decent. Interior is pretty clean as is the engine bay, but the seller says it’ll crank but not start. It does seem to have a tinny sounding eBay exhaust from the one video of the car driving.
Would y’all risk it?

I had a few weeks down without any alcohol, then I decided to try and moderate drinking over the weekend. 2 shots on Friday turned into 3 shots on Saturday, which progressed into drinking on weekdays. That’s exactly what I was trying to avoid, so now I need to start over with total sobriety.
I’ve gone 2 weeks sober in the past, and I managed 3 weeks recently, so 4 weeks seems like the next right thing. I’ll check back on 2/22 with 28 days sober!

My (23F) stepmom came into my life when I was 12 yo after the death of my adoptive mom. My dad remarried a short 1.5 years after and so began the torment of my childhood. She would make remarks about my eating disorder and yell at me when she found scars on my arms at 16. She was never a mother figure and contributed to lots of mental health issues i am currently still working on. I was 18 when she put her hands on me for the first time and my dads response was to pack my stuff and get me a Uhaul. I was with an abusive ex at the time who I moved in with. I have probably moved back home 3 times within the last 3 years. This time was because I was in an accident trying to take my life dealing with alcoholism and depression from my relationship I was in for 2 years after moving home. I got sober and have 9 months under my belt and have been improving my outlook on myself and life. But my stepmom and I seemed to be doing okay and if anything i just had to walk on eggshells when she was home but that i was used to. 2 nights ago. She made dinner for my dad and I after he just got a new job. As he was leaving that night he told me to do the dishes and “leave the cast iron pan for him” I obliged then my step mom comes into my room and tells me “I told your dad he would come home to a clean kitchen, so get on it“ and so I was like OK and I do the dishes and I put the knives in the dishwasher on the top rack. The next day I had to work from 6 AM to 11 AM and I had the most stressful shitty day. I went grocery shopping and came home with my groceries to hear her call me from her room. She told me to sit down and asked me “I told you to do the dishes right” Me: Yes and I did them so what’s the problem? Her: The problem is that you put the knives in the dishwasher. When do we do that? When have we ever done that? And so I told her let me put my stuff down if we’re really gonna have this conversation right now (she’s a therapist and always makes everything a session and racks your fucking brain) I got up and walked down the hall to my room and she follows me. She pushes open my door and grabs me by the neck and chokes me on my bed. We both fell to the ground and she grabs my hair as hard as she can and i’m screaming. She’s calling me a menace, saying I live there for free (when i pay 500 every month) and that i’m disrespectful. I pushed her off of me and at this point my phone is recording because i started the video when she was just yelling at me by my door. I locked my door and went into my closet to call the police which they came and nothing came of it no arrest was made since there was no witness or proof. So now I’m at work thinking of what to do because my dad has just given up and is under like a witches spell. I’ve forgiven her many times but i want to move on with my life. My sister is in France on an Au Pair job and I’m thinking about going with her and leaving everyone behind here. I’m on probation for my DUI and have classes for 9 months here and just signed up for school. I was moving forward and almost relapsed last night. Just looking for some kind words or advice here. 🤍
