Employer changing my terms

Hi there, speaking of references given by a former employer or colleague, shall I write reference by somebody or reference from somebody? The specific sentence is: A reference from/by xxxx is available on my profile on Linkedin. Thank much Often at the beginning of contracts terms are defined, so you'll see something like "This contract is between Bob Johnson (herein 'Employee') and Widget Manufacturing, Inc. (herein 'Employer')" That way throughout the contract you know that Employee means Bob Johnson and only Bob, whereas "employee" without the capital letter retains its normal ... Hi there, I am writing an email to a potential employer and would like to sign off by thanking the recipient again. Is it correct to place a comma in the phrase "Thank you, again"? I haven't been able to find an answer (backed up with reasoning) with a general web search. Thanks for any help... A salary slip (also known as a 'pay slip') thus seems to be a BE term. A salary slip lists your gross salary, overtime, allowances, etc. and also deductions for tax, National Insurance, pension, union subscriptions, etc., and any other schemes provided by the employer and voluntary charitable donations - what is left at the end is your net salary. employee与employer的区别是含义的不同: employee是雇员(被别人雇佣的人),employer是雇主(雇佣别人的人)。 例句: 1、An attorney is your employee, in a manner of speaking. 律师也可以说是你的雇员。 2、He is an employee of Fuji Bank. 他是富士银行的雇员。 Let's say, a boss orders his employer to start his work. He should say "start to work"because this is a formal situation. In another situation, let's say I am at a party. If I want to invite someone to dance, I should say"start dancing". employer name是公司名称。 制作个人简历要根据自身的实际情况来制作。 1、个人简历中一般应该包括:自然状况:姓名、性别、学历等;同时要简述个人的接受教育经历和相关工作经历以及个人的业务描述在工作中取得的业绩。 After my colleague says "it's fine," perhaps with a few changes, i send the expense report to my boss for approval. Once my boss approves it, my employer's accounting department will give me a check. As another example, I am often asked to review manuscripts of papers that have been submitted to professional journals. For a male servant addressing his employer, you can't go wrong with 'Sir' or 'Master' - Nicholas in A Woman Killed with KIndness (1607 ) uses both, though his master is maybe a bit higher-ranking. But 'Sir' was common as a deferential mode of address, and is used (though not by servants) in Greene's Cony-Catching Pamphlets (1591) to the sort of ... But Parla (in post 5) said "We're doing a job for company X": "we" would be my company (say company Z). This doesn't exactly relate to whether I am employed, though if I am doing a job for them, I must have an employer (or be my own boss at least ). I was not suggesting that, no. I would never say "carry out the dishes", lol.

2025.01.22 18:17 Justpeace143 Employer changing my terms

I’ve only worked at two different places in the last 4-5 years, so I’m not a job hopper. My last workplace turned out super toxic and they “demoted” me without actually calling it a demotion… I was a lead and took over more responsibilities in exchange for a little pay increase. They were controlling my pto and wouldn’t let me take unpaid pto for emergency. Then they said they were “restructuring” and took away my job title and extra pay, stating that I could reapply for the position after a few months. So after 2.5 years of dedication and passion, I decided to leave that job. I recently started my new job, and the terms that were offered to me were 2 days in office 3 days remote. Well since I’ve started, they said I had to be in office full time until xyz. Then it got to where I could work remotely but only on Fridays. Then it was well you can work remotely for 2 days and when xyz happens you can make it 3 (like it was always supposed to be). Now they’re saying that I have to come in person full time again until xyz. What the hell is going on? Is there anything I can do about this?

I'm currently reading this wonderful masterpiece for the second time, and I'm really noticing many new nuances that I hadn't noticed the first time I read the book. 2025.01.22 18:17 LabbinBruh How to get into software engineering

I’m a 18 year old guy who lives in small town Saskatchewan working a job I hate. I want to quit my current job and pursue something with computers. I’ve always had a spark for computers and always wanted to learn how to code so I thought software engineering would be a perfect fit. I just don’t know where to start. I have little to zero experience in coding. I heard that getting involved with community’s on different platforms helps so I’ve been trying that but that hasn’t been taking me anywhere really. I’ve been looking for courses but lots of them from what I heard aren’t that great and or you have to pay for. I don’t know any places that offer apprenticeships. I also don’t want to hop straight into school incase I change my mind or just don’t enjoy it. Anything will help. Thank you

2025.01.22 18:17 Ok_Structure9051 I M16 feel uncomfortable with my gf F17 new "friend"

About a month or two ago i noticed my gf was talking to another guy, i asked her about him and she told me that they were just friends and although i was not fully comfortable with it i just let it go. Last weekend i was hanging out at her house and noticed she was still talking to him, when she opened snap it looked like she was looking at him snap map and that really made think about it. I asked her about it and she got really defensive about it saying it was just a friend and that he was friends with one of her girl friends. Today she is staying afterschool and his school is coming over to her school. i joked and said "oh your boyfriend is coming over" and she got really defensive about it and she got mad with me. Should i break up with her? i don't see her cheating on me but her behavior has been really weird this past few weeks.

2025.01.22 18:17 aoihiganbana i'm the worst woman you could date

what I do often : -Cry at evenings for no reason, occasionally -Rant about how much I hate my parents -I wouldn't stop bringing the topic of hating my teenage years and all my enemies and my abusive childhood (I want ALL the pity I can get) -I'm depressed cus of poverty -I can't hold a conversation unless it's about the niche topics I like -I can't talk to anyone I'm not close with -I'm always blank faced and spaced out when out of home -Realize I'm too stupid for absolutely anything
what I don't like
-events -eating outside where others can see me -dancing, I've never danced, I'm a lanky tree -I don't drink alcohol, like at all. (I drank all kinds of stuff in the presence of my parents when I was 14,i just was dizzy, not very fun at all and wanted to sleep, cranky) -being in the sun without spf in my hand -friend groups -wearing anything that isn't at least 2 times my size -not being able to spend at least 6 hours a day on my electronics (I can make an exception for when I'm working) -any game that doesn't involve me not being on my electronics -going somewhere because money is tight -flowers. ahchoo.
what it's like dating me
-no seggs before marriage (yes you can marry me in 5 days if you kidnap me, but only if your kidnapping is with good intent). -me being no contact for a week every month because I'm dying of my period -bland food (I don't like anything else. But I could learn for others) -Im scared of literally anything -Please act like a father toward me (daddy issues acting up) -But also romance pls -we can only text because my mom will kill me and brand me as a harlot -I cry if someone is hostile and raises their voice at me -I'm kind of slow through life especially when I shop
my ideal first date
-give me a car ride (I have to orchestrate my kidnapping first so I'm not a whore) and let's drive to literally any European country (borders are free ;) -buy seedless watermelon and stop by a lake
what will most likely happen to an unassuming man who would like me?
-I'm going to make up a bs excuse because my mom probably noticed and blew up on me for being a slut and breathing in a man's direction so to affirm that she's the most important person and that I don't even want love anyway, so I'm probably going to text him like "ooops I'm not feeling you" when I clearly am but I can't leave my mom alone as she can't do anything on her own, and it's not like a man would adopt her when marrying me.

2025.01.22 18:17 Derkastan77-2 Level 40 knocking my loadout

For context, I’m 150, 2,600 missions, over 200,000 bots turned into toasters, and I absolutely love this game. I… am a ‘Grenadier’.
I have taken the Grenade Launcher & Supply pack, exclusively, on probably 2300 of those. It’s all I take on all 3 fronts, regardless of difficulty. With servo armor, 15 thermites and my trusty AC/Rocket Sentry duo, heavies aren’t an issue.
I just decided to drop down to relax on difficulty 7 bot missions this morning, as most know, 7 is a good level to have fun, relax, but still have a little challenge with a full squad.
I joined a group hosted by another 150, then myself, a level 50, and the level 40 diver joined. It was a bot ‘valuable data’ mission.
We drop in, everything’s normal. Jammers, gunships, actory stryders, mortars, nothing out of the ordinary. But the spawn rates seemed a bit high and we were getting a lot of bot dropships throughout the mission, making it ‘feel’ more like a 9 to me (for the number of bots rushing up)
We get to the generator and are starting it up right after fighting off another swarm of bots.
I casually type into chat, during the lull:
“Man, this sure has been a bit kinetic for a diff. 7”
Lvl 40 guy responds:
“Use less grenades, and take something with armor pen next time.”
🧐🤨….
“Gosh, I wonder how little Timmy’s numbers are going to be when we extract” I wonder 😏
We extract, and I had 358 kills and no deaths. The next person had 257 kills and 1 death….
And little Timmy had 43 kills in a 40 minute mission, with the most deaths, least stratagems used, least times reinforcing, no samples extracted.
I pointed out he had 43 kills in a 40 minute mission.
He quit the group.
It really surprises me how many people see the GL as a non viable weapon, paired with the supply pack. I even use it in close quarters.
If you master the ‘bounce range’, it’s a beast.

2025.01.22 18:17 nonmatrixhuman Three Revolutions in Christianity

Three Revolutions in Christianity
Christianity, created by Christ, unlike other religions, is based on a fundamentally different and new foundation. Speaking of its organizational aspect, it exists in this world as an assembly—the ecclesia (Church) of all the faithful.
On what principles is the Church of Christ organized?

  1. Equality and the value of each person before God
"There is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free, but Christ is all and in all" (Col. 3:11). There is no division by gender, economic, ethnic, or political characteristics. Unlike other religions, there are no priestly-cast priests and "the people," the initiated and the profane. "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light" (1 Pet. 2:9).
  1. Governance in Love and Service instead of Dominance and Submission
"By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another" (John 13:35). And, "Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant" (Matt. 20:25-27). In the Church, there are no masters, only one Lord—God. "But all of you are brethren; and call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven; neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ" (Matt. 23:8-10).
Whoever it may be—whether a leader, bishop, or prophet—no one can dominate but must only serve, and serve greatly! Just as Christ, Who, being the True God, washed the feet of His disciples. Even now, it is difficult for us to imagine how this could be...
3. Different members of the Church work in it for their salvation through different ministries.
Each person in their ministry works according to God’s gifts and talents: those who have the gift of prophecy—prophesy; those who heal—heal; those who teach—teach; and those who administer and manage—manage.
4. From the very beginning, two fundamental types of ministries were established in the Church.
Charismatics – These are ministries to which people are appointed by direct divine command. God Himself chooses such people: "Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you" (John 15:16). He endows them with supernatural gifts. These are apostles, prophets, and teachers who have gifts to heal and perform other miracles. One cannot learn to be an apostle or prophet, and these gifts cannot be bought. They are given by God Himself to the person He has chosen.
Managers – These are ministries that do not require supernatural gifts and are accessible to many; they involve “helping, managing,” that is, administrative and practical tasks. For helping the poor, cleaning candlesticks, or managing routine household matters, no special supernatural gifts are needed. These ministries were often appointed (or blessed) by the same charismatics.
5. Different ministries have different priorities based on importance and authority.
"And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers; after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues" (1 Cor. 12:28).
Thus, it is clear that the primary authority over all others lies with the ministries of the charismatics. It is they who defined the most important aspects of the life of the Church and carried out the leadership as God-inspired.
In the early churches, the managerial ministries and assistance were typically carried out by the elders (presbyters in Greek), deacons (servants, helpers in Greek), and "chief presbyters," those presiding over the Eucharists (bishops in Greek) "overseers," who exercised general leadership and presided over the Eucharists in the absence of the Apostles or other charismatics. Sometimes, these positions, especially the episcopal ones, were held by charismatics by virtue of their charisma. At times, bishops were chosen by the presbyters (elders).
6. Political Neutrality
In their relations with secular authorities, Christians maintained neutrality. They did not actively engage in politics, nor did they demand positions or favors. They submitted to any authority, but only within the bounds where it did not contradict their faith. Naturally, they did not associate themselves with any political leader or regime. For Christians, their homeland is the Kingdom of Heaven, and all earthly kingdoms are transient.
This way of life among the early Christians during the time of the Apostles is now often justifiably seen as an example to follow. However, the devil never rests, and using his usual arsenal of temptations, he attacked Christians, provoking three revolutions in Christianity.
As early as the 2nd-3rd centuries, dramatic events began occurring in church governance, which we can loosely refer to as the clerical-pagan revolution.
During this time, those holding managerial roles—bishops, presbyters, and deacons—gradually seized control of governance, pushing aside the charismatics. (For a more detailed discussion, see "On the Origin of the Early Christian Hierarchy" by A.P. Lebedev.)
For various reasons, a completely different principle of life and governance was established in the Church. Having pushed aside the charismatics, the church stewards and managers began to create a new form of legitimizing their power.
To do this, they created a caste of priests—bishops, presbyters, and deacons—modeled after the pagans and Jews. These priests were called not only to govern but also to monopolize the performance of semi-pagan mysteries, which over time would be called "sacraments" (in Greek, sacrament means mystery). One such sacrament, the sacrament of priesthood, involves a semi-magical ritual of ordination by which "priesthood" is transferred from one priest to another. In essence, bishops and presbyters become Christian priests with the exclusive right to govern the Church and "distribute Grace." A multitude of rules, canons, and orders was created, where the life of the Church was precisely regulated, much like in the Pharisees' time. A system of dogmas and theology was developed, often based not so much on the Gospel as on pagan philosophies like Platonism and Aristotelianism.
A division occurred between the people and the clergy. They began to pray, dress, and call themselves differently. The charismatics gradually moved to the periphery, while the clergy justified their absence by claiming that the spirit had waned and there were no true charismatics (although charismatics have always existed in Christianity and continue to exist today). The clergy began to assert their power through the apostles via "ordination" (even though, as we have pointed out earlier, the apostles prioritized charismatics).
Moreover, the life of the clergy strayed far from the Gospel. They governed with authority, often using force and bribery, and their personal lives became increasingly distant from Christ.
To prevent the sins of the clergy from troubling the people, the idea was invented that no matter how sinful a priest may be, if he has been properly ordained, all of his sacraments and his authority are supposedly from God. This is akin to magic—the key is that the ritual and the incantations are correct.
This revolution began in the 2nd century and was fully established by the 6th century.
However, the clerical-pagan revolution in Christianity eventually led to another defining event—the political revolution.
Until the 4th century, political power either ignored Christians or persecuted them, but by the 4th to 6th centuries, Christianity became the state religion, and other religions were banned.
The Church merged with the state system, becoming part of it. This manifested in Caesaropapism, when the bishop of Rome began to claim secular power, or in Byzantine symphonia, when the emperor effectively became the head of the Church.
In essence, the Church became a propaganda and ideological enlightenment branch of the state, and every layperson had to submit to this machinery. Instead of love and service, the Church became dominated by the whip and sword. Over time, it reached the point where a priest was required to report the confessions of laypeople to the police, and a layperson was required to present the police with a certificate of mandatory confession and communion.
The Church ultimately transformed into a system where the priority of worldly, sinful law was established over Grace.
Such deep distortions in Christianity inevitably sparked protests from charismatics and other defenders of the Gospel truth. However, since they could not oppose the state machinery, they fled to the deserts and became hermits, trying to organize their church life according to the Gospel. This is how monasticism arose.
It is natural that the state power strongly opposed this. The Cold War between desert monasticism and the state continued until the 20th century.
In the 16th century, there was an attempt to purify Catholicism from the horrific clerical debauchery through the rise of Protestantism. But in the end, Protestantism either went down the same path as the Catholics or degenerated.
In the 20th century, events occurred that provoked the third, anti-Christian revolution in Christianity.
Until the 19th and 20th centuries, the state power, to which Christian organizations were subordinated and served, either nominally or formally, called itself Christian and was considered as such.
However, in the 19th and 20th centuries, state power worldwide formally became secular, non-religious, and separated itself from the Church. In practice, it turned into a fierce enemy of Christianity. It was taken under the control of anti-Christian, satanic secret organizations.
However, Christian structures (it is now hard to even call them churches) continue to engage in agreements and alliances both with states and with supra-national anti-Christian organizations.
For example, Russia is an anti-Christian state in spirit, yet the Russian Orthodox Church serves it like a dog. The Vatican has essentially turned into an anti-Christian center, an ally of freemasons and occultists. Bishops of many churches are either adepts of secret occult sects or agents of special services. (We won’t even mention the Protestants with their secularism and advocacy of homosexuality.) A particularly dark spot is the thoroughly anti-Christian ecumenism.
Thus, in essence, Christian organizations today are becoming anti-Christian, with the lives of their higher clergy—due to their sinfulness—surpassing many secular politicians. We are entering a period when, according to the word of Revelation, churches, instead of being Christ’s brides, are becoming Babylonian harlots.
As we see, the dirty clerical squabbles and speculations we observe now are not an exception but a logical consequence of the demise of the Churches, turning them into something between a closed joint-stock company, a political party, and a totalitarian sect.
So, what is the true Church today, and where can it be found?
What conditions did Christ Himself set for the Church?
  1. "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them" (Matt. 18:20). This means that the first condition of the Church is the gathering (in Greek, Ekklēsia, meaning assembly) of believers in Christ in His name. Therefore, the first condition of the Church is a group of people who gather together (either physically or virtually online) for Christ and believe that Christ is their God and Savior.
  2. "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:35). "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant" (Matt. 20:25-26). "If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you" (John 13:14-15). The second condition for the Church-assembly is love and service among the members of the assembly (not power, bureaucracy, or obedience).
  3. "And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is My body, which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me'" (Luke 22:19). The third condition for the assembly to be called the Church is the Eucharist.
That's it. Therefore:
Any Eucharistic community of Christians, united in love and faith, is indeed the Church, with a capital letter. It is no less mystical than the universal Church of all Christians as the Body of Christ. All Christians are united in the Church, but the Church, as a specific community, contains within itself the entire mystical fullness of the universal Church.
People gathered in an assembly (Ecclesia)—for Christ the Savior, in love and thanksgiving ("Eucharist" in Greek means thanksgiving)—this is the Church.
No earthly system, hierarchy, or organization can be the Church, and certainly, none should dare to call itself so, let alone arrogate to itself any ecclesiastical power. The power in the Church over people belongs only to God. He has granted people power, but only the power to be children of God, to cast out demons, and to heal the sick.
