The question of whether to insert or update first is also application dependent. Are you expecting more inserts or more updates? The one that is most likely to succeed should go first. If you pick the wrong one you will get a bunch of unnecessary index reads. insert is not a recommended way - it is one of the ways to insert into map. The difference with operator[] is that the insert can tell whether the element is inserted into the map. Also, if your class has no default constructor, you are forced to use insert. operator[] needs the default constructor because the map checks if the element exists. This is the only one that works for my (shared) SQL server. YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss gives the correct mnth/date; but without the 'T' (YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss) the month and date are swapped (sometimes of course giving impossible values), Without the hyphens (YYYDDMM hh:mm:ss) also seems to work but I can't trust it, because it depends on the DB admin's language settings which may change. This can be done without specifying the columns in the INSERT INTO part if you are supplying values for all columns in the SELECT part. Let's say table1 has two columns. This query should work: INSERT INTO table1 SELECT col1, col2 FROM table2 This WOULD NOT work (value for col2 is not specified): INSERT INTO table1 SELECT col1 FROM table2 Ok, looks like I actually need to just do an insert into the Payments table that has the correct CustomerID, as there are currently no Payments with that CustomerID, so I cannot update it. I ran INSERT INTO Payments (CustomerID, Amount, PaymentTypeID) Values ('145300', 24.99, 8); and then SELECT * FROM Payments WHERE Payments.CustomerID = '145300'; to confirm and we're in business. I now want to INSERT the results of this query into another table. I have tried the following: INSERT INTO tablea(a,b) ;WITH alias (y,z) AS ( SELECT y,z FROM tableb ) SELECT y, z FROM alias but I get the error: Incorrect syntax near ';'. So I have tried without the semicolon but got the error: Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'WITH'. INSERT INTO new_table (Foo, Bar, Fizz, Buzz) SELECT Foo, Bar, Fizz, Buzz FROM initial_table -- optionally WHERE ... I'd better clarify this because for some reason this post is getting a few down-votes. The INSERT INTO ... SELECT FROM syntax is for when the table you're inserting into ("new_table" in my example above) already exists.

2025.01.22 19:23 silverfstop Setting up a new small office. Can someone help review my equipment plans?

Pretty much title. I'm setting up a new office for our business (actually, a small bar in a mall-type setting).
Really light duty needs. Not planning any type of guest network. If the WiFi ever has 10 concurrent connections I'll be shocked. No heavy download/upload. Some media streaming. It's mostly WiFi for the POS system and the manager's laptop, and the balance will be ethernet (possibly a few AppleTVs, and a 3rd party NVR system).
Because of the layout of this place, I have to put all the IT gear in a storage area that's about 150' from my retail area, which means a Dream Router (with integrated AP) isn't very helpful - I'll need ~2 APs to cover my planned WiFi area regardless.
So, here's my budget friendly plan:

I (26 F) completed my thru in 2023 and during that hike I started to experience excessive hair loss in the shower. At the time I figured it was a mixture of malnutrition and I was showering less and not brushing my hair as often. Here we are a year and a half later and I am still experiencing excessive hair loss when showering. Anyone else experience this and have any insights? Maybe I’m just getting old 😐
