I was gifted a GeekMagic crystal display from a friend, but it wants access to my wifi to upload the gifs i wanted to display.
I've seen videos of hackers getting access to all your information from being connected to the wifi.
Does anyone know anything about this? Any input is appreciated :)

2025.01.22 19:46 blacknightcat Referred to dermatology for possible EM?

I’ve (31F) been referred to a dermatologist after my doctor contacted a rheumatologist who suggested I could have EM. I’m based in the UK.
Main symptoms are red hands, entire palms and fingers (including top of my fingers). Fingers feel swollen and hands feel hot. I find it uncomfortable and get pain across my knuckles but otherwise manageable, not as intense as others describe which makes me wonder if it isn’t EM? I also have Raynauds, diagnosed with that nearly 20 years ago, though this mostly affects my feet.
Seems to happen most when I eat hot food (as in temperature), in bed at night, or when I’m moving around tidying / cleaning. Holding a cool object (like a can from the fridge) helps, as well as raising my hands above my head.
Sorry for weird second photo - the only one I have where you can see just how red they get compared to my normal skin tone!

I have read about the Kaeru SLD gyuto being a good value option.
Also It's still the tail end of the year of dragon (lunar calendar) and I thought it's cool to have the Dragon engraving on it.
Best packaged knife I have received 😊
Pretty good edge OOTB doing paper cut tests. Spine and Choil could use some polishing.

My family is rooted in Rajasthan, tied to farming and lands. We belong to the Saini caste, and due to our privileged background, I never learned much about caste. My family is religious, strictly vegetarian, and disapproves of non-vegetarian practices.
Recently, I’ve faced casteism, often disguised as jokes from friends. Though they claimed it was harmless, it left me uncomfortable and led to emotional trauma. Friends from other communities (some caste) often try to prove their caste is superior or flaunt their pride. Personally, I never cared, but due to some political involvement, my caste became a topic. They expected me to support their pride, but I didn’t. This offended them.
Later, a friend from the community (some caste) boasted about how "great" their caste is, expecting me to agree. I responded politely, saying, "Good for you." My parents taught me that all castes and humans are equal, so I’ve never felt the need to take pride in caste. However, this mindset led to mistreatment, as friends talked behind my back, spreading negativity and jealousy.
This made me question my place in Hinduism. Why should my caste make others insecure or encourage superiority? Frustrated by this toxic environment, I’ve decided to leave Hinduism, as I no longer want my caste to define me.

I’ve contacted support 5 times and they always repeat the same script saying they’ve removed “blockers” and to try again and it never works they escalate to specialist team and I got an email back saying blockers removed and to try again and it’s still not working!! I’ve run out of options as support is useless and uber has basically held my funds hostage. I’ve tried waiting 3 days before attempting to change info still not working. I give up… I saw another Reddit user have the same problem to which his response was “if you’re having this issues you may as well deactivate your account and take the loss of your money as they will never be able to change your banking information”. Please help.

The post, which has since earned more than 300 replies, ended with a stark message from the Boygenius singer about the future for trans Americans under a second Trump presidency. “the government will never be the source of our validation or protection,” she wrote. “we have to do it ourselves.”
Trump’s executive order (titled “Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government”) makes it the official policy of the United States that there are only two sexes, while also eliminating any and all federal funding for gender-affirming health care.

Is it so common for managers to just not care about anyone else at their job?
Been working in an office for 6+ years now and I've had countless bosses who just don't care about their employees or training their employees so that they can make the company just a little easier for everyone.
Instead the boss/manager chooses to hoard all the work and complain about having too much work. Never say, "Thank you!" When things are done quicker than ever before.
Instead they are in their own little land and just bitchy at everyone, all day. And to the REAL BOSS, that is what work and success is, so they are the most amazing people at the company. Ugh. Being in an office is soo dumb. 🤦‍♂️
