I've had newshosting for years and very very rarely ever had anything that I grabbed from my indexers have missing blocks and fail to repair. However, lately (past few weeks or so) I'm getting a much higher frequency of missing blocks and files that fail to repair with newshosting. Anyone else having this issue as well? It's definitely not an issue with the indexers since I'm grabbing them from omg and .in. Anyone have a recommendation for a reliable backup provider? I switched from cheaper providers to newshosting because of incomplete issues many years ago, but if there is a more reliable provider nowadays, I don't mind switching.

hello. on tuesday my school had a fire drill (planned) but it was NEGATIVE SIX DEGREE WEATHER (F - like -21 C) this was all planned and so stupid
WE LITERALLY STOOD OUTSIDE IN THE COLD IN OUR SCHOOL UNIFORM (pants/skirts/shorts + blue shirt/short sleeve) VERY FEW PEOPLE HAD COATS AND ONLY TEACHERS DID BECAUSE THEY KNEW ABT IT
everyone's arms were freezing and i literally couldn't do it anymore it was so painful and i remember my fingers started physically hurting along with my arms and my lips were blue. god i hate this school.

My feline companion recently had to be switched to low phosphorous diet and I recently ordered four packs of eight cans online. Nine out of the thirty-four cans arrived severely dented. I totally understood the risk when ordering, I'm not upset about it. But my question is, can I return the nine dented cans to my local Petco and exchange them for nine cans of the same brand (I'll happily take whatever flavor they have in stock as an exchange)? I ask because my store does not sell the eight packs and has a limited selection of flavors. Thanks in advance! :)

2025.01.22 22:01 Tequila_God I'm (almost) out of options on stripping this pan - photo in body of post.
I offered to help a coworker restore two skillets that he's been using. The larger, a small block Griswold 8, is/was in terrible shape. The bottom was 50% bare metal and 50% crust/crud/carbon. Some of this was 1/4" thick or thicker. He says this skillet is used to cook steaks - my impression of this is "get the pan as hot as humanly possible (it's cast iron after all), drop the steak in it, and hope for the best."
He says these were his grandmother's skillets and I feel like they were never seriously washed or seasoned.
Three days in the lye tank plus 5 scrubs has gotten me to the attached photo. No amount of scrubbing or scraping will clean this off. It's baked into the grain of the pan.
I'm at the point of giving up or hitting with sandpaper. Any advice?
