I have submitted my revised manuscript titled 论文题目 [manuscript id: 稿件编号] to your journal via the online submission system on xx/xx/xxxx [date of submission]. Snapchat chats system? Handsdown the closest chats system to real-time conversation, almost perfect (more on that later). No preview in notifications, you can see when someone’s in the chat—it’s solid. It But the rest of the app? It’s a complete cancer, and it’s designed to be so. Below are few points and i might make a part 2 if i felt like it.
- Snap Maps & "Ghost Mode": Why is it called “Ghost Mode” when I’m just practicing my basic human right to NOT share my location at all time? The non-ghost mode should be called naked-mode. And ghost is just default. Tbh why is that even a feature to begin with?
- Half-Screening Chats: Honestly, this is the one thing that almost ruins the almost-perfect chats system for me. If there’s already a feature to show when someone opens a chat, why is there this weird official/unofficial half-screening loophole where they can read your messages without you knowing? It’s like the app is contradicting itself. Then ofc they found a way to monetize this mess. Now you can pay to know if someone half-screened your chat—but only if you’re both in the chats tab at the same time? Seriously, who thought this was a good idea?
- Streaks and Scores: Self-explanatory. Streaks might be argued for but scores are just plain cancer..
- Snapchat+: They had to make it worse, right? Now you can pay to stalk people’s Ghost Trails or see who their best friends are. Instead of improving the app, they’re just monetizing unhealthy behaviors. It’s gross.
- Everything’s a Game: The app isn’t about talking to your friends—it’s about keeping you addicted. Streaks, Snap Scores, paid perks… all of it turns relationships into something shallow and transactional.
