About a month ago, I was visiting my best friend on the mainland (i live on a big island which is only a 1hr long ferry ride away) and we decided we wanted to go clubbing. I was recently single and also had an interest in an old friend (let's call him P) who I was hoping would show up to the club that night. My best friend and I were hyped up the whole day hoping P would show up, so I was really excited.
Fast forward to dinner time, we were out at a restaurant and she told me that her boyfriend and his friends were going to come to the club and meet us there. One of her boyfriend's friends was a guy she had told me about a week prior that she thought I would hit if off with really well (let's call him C). I told her at dinner that I was hoping this wasn't a setup with C because I was hoping P would be there that night.
Her and I show up to the club around 11:30 and we meet with her boyfriend and C (and C's bro). C and I start talking a lot. I'm leaning against a railing and he is talking to me super close and sparks we definitely flying. While this is happening, I'm still hoping P shows up because that was my #1 hope. So I'm kinda pulling away from conversations with C to look around for P. A couple of hours go by and no sign of P. I tell my best friend whatever, C is really sweet and I think he's sexy as hell.
We all leave and go to lineup for another club and we are told to come back in an hour, so we all agree to get food at a pizza joint. We all walk in, and instantly, C and I sit down at a table of our own while everyone else orders food and sits at a big table. Him and I are chatting it up about our childhood memories, music (we have a lot in common which is like my love language) and as I'm talking with my hands, I can see him studying my hands and me while I'm talking. We must have talked for a full 45 minutes before it was time to head to the new club.
Him and I walked over and he was getting more touchy feely, like walking with his hand behind my back and touching my arm, the usual. We're in the club, and this place is WACK. It's really trashy and just not our vibe. We're all laughing at how bad it is, and then him and I stand against a pillar away from everyone. We're talking, and then I decide to kiss him (I NEVER make the first move. I'm always nervous.) we make out for like 3 minutes straight and then I pull away to laugh at the fact that Pony by Ginuwine was playing and then he tells me he was really hoping we were going to kiss n stuff. Then, somehow (I was a bit drunk so it's a bit fuzzy) I tell him I can't come over to his place since he was asking how long I was going to be in town for and wanted me to come "hangout" at his place. I told him I couldn't because I wasn't on any birth control and he said there are other methods. But I felt like the odds were against me that night because I wasn't in the right vibe to hookup. I had just gotten my first bikini wax that day and it didn't react well with my skin, I was staying with my best friend and I didn't want to ditch her, and I was a bit nervous.
After that, we all congregate outisde to get an Uber. At this point, it was 4 AM. For the rest of the night he asks me a few more times if I'm sure I don't want to come over and we kiss on and off on the way back to my best friend's place. He tries to hold my hand but I hold his for a tiny bit and then take it back. Idk why I did that. We talked a lot more about our lives and then ultimately, I told him it wasn't the right time and that I would follow him on instagram. I wasn't head over heels that night, but I was definitely interested in him. We ended up following each other on instagram and I went back home to the island.
Once I'm home, I DM him on Instagram and say that I had fun and he should let me know if he's in the area and I would do the same when I'm there next. He said he had a lot of fun too and that he's sure he'll see me around. I highly doubt he would ever be in my city. I think the only possibility is if I'm in his city. I've been trying to plan another trip to my best friend's place but she is silently declining. She wants this to work out for him and I so maybe it's just too soon for me to visit with her. I feel like I'm panicking.
I asked my best friend if C told her boyfriend anything, and she said C hasn't said anything but that her boyfriend said "it probably wont become anything since they dont live in the same city".
Since then, he views all of my instagram stories pretty quickly and has liked the story posts where I'm in a gym outfit; or liked my instagram posts. We don't text at all so my posting stuff on Instagram is the only way to interact with him. I don't want to chase him.
I've kinda done a deep dive on him because I might be moving to his city in the next few months. I have been wanting to move back there for the last couple of years and this year seems like it may be possible.
I know doing a deep dive on him isn't great since who knows if this would ever become a thing, but I can really see myself with this person. I know my worth and that I have lots of really great qualities/values and am a great partner. I just don't want to go out on a limb and message him again. I want him to come to me.
Should I ask my best friend to be my wingwoman here and probe him for his thoughts on me?
TL;DR I met a guy who lives far away (reasonable enough to make a relationship work) and I really like him. He's my best friend's boyfriend's friend. Him and I hit if off really well and ended our night with a cliffhanger scenario. I'm not sure if I should persue this since I may be moving over there soon.

recently i have been exploring my gpu options with the sff dell optiplex oem pcs and i was wondering the the wx 5100 can fit inside of it. Although it is a low profile gpu, it looks a bit bit and my concern is that it is too wide for the pcie slot. If this does not fit im thinking of getting the wx 4100, any reccomdations?

Hi everyone,
We’re moving from Los Angeles to Arlington and will be arriving on February 1st. We’ll be living in the Rosslyn area, and our designated school will be Innovation Elementary.
Here’s my situation: I have a 4.5-year-old daughter, Eva, who is currently attending school in Los Angeles. In California, children can start school as early as 4 years old without any special conditions like income requirements or lotteries. Eva is in a mixed-age class (4-6 years old), and 14 out of 20 kids in her class are at the kindergarten level (5-6 years old). She’s technically following the kindergarten curriculum and doing quite well with it.
The problem is that in Arlington, and from what I understand, Virginia as a whole, schools only accept kids starting at age 5. Pre-K classes, like the one at Innovation Elementary, are only available to families with low income, and we don’t meet that criterion.
While we’re not a low-income family, paying $1,200–$1,500 (or more) per month for a private preschool is financially overwhelming for us and doesn’t fit into our budget.
On top of that, I’d really like to avoid having Eva stay home for the next six months. I’m not currently working, so she’d be home with me, but since this is a brand-new city for us, we don’t have any friends or connections yet—and neither does she. It’s also important to me that she doesn’t lose the progress she’s made or experience a break in her education.
Since Virginia is entirely new to us, and we’ve only been in the U.S. for 2.5 years, I’m still learning how the education system works here. I might be missing some options or nuances, and I’d greatly appreciate any advice.
Does anyone know of alternative programs, affordable preschools, or other solutions that could work in our situation? If you have any recommendations or advice, I’d be incredibly grateful!

So, hear me out.
My current 401k contribution (including company match) is 18% every pay check.
Say that my essential long-term goal is to retire before the age of 60. Say I want to retire at the age of 50, 51, etc. I understand there are tremendous tax benefits to a ROTH IRA, but that money is locked-up until I am 59.5 years old. I want to retire at an earlier age and live off compounding HYSA, dividends, etc.
Is it more beneficial for me to be placing large dollars of investing into an Individual brokerage account so that I can use that money and move that money around freely prior to the age of 59.5?
Please tell me what I am missing.

I'm working on a world where magic exists, but you need to be very specific.
What relates to here, is that in this world, about half the population was born with a specific spell in their system, that they can activate as easily as controlling their hands.
Some ideas I've came up with include: Turning momentum into slime, being able to regrow limbs as plants and being able to make someone breath thunder.
I thought I'll come to here to see if anyone has any cool ideas for background characters, since the main setting requires a lot of unique powers to exist.

Hi there! I primarily collect rainwater through a sand/charcoal filter and store in 60 gallon barrels. The water gets bleached in the barrels to sanitize, drinking is run through a gravity ceramic filter. However, the lack of minerals in the water leaves it tasting meh. What would be a good way to improve that taste? Part of me wants to just clean a few large rocks (all sandstone) and toss them in the barrels, but that seems too easy or would be ineffective. No fancy filtering systems yet, but I'm open to integrating mineral canisters into the mix if that's the best route
