Just in case you were wondering how well the new experimental feature HEVC transcoding works on 3-4 year old NAS hardware: I've tested 3 simultanious streams transcoding from 4K HDR (big files, around 75000 kbps) down to various resolutions and all were smooth and basically instant playback. I'd say 3 active streams like this is a realistic scenario for most people. The maximum CPU usage for the Plex was about 26%.

2025.01.22 23:15 thenowayhome Do you have issues cleaning Sterilite Gasket Boxes? If so, how?
I wanted to ask where the storage box users were.
We just received some Sterilite Gasket Boxes and there doesn't seem to be much on the interwebs about cleaning them.
I saw there was 3D printing to replace janky handles and that people in this subreddit save them or donate them.
But, I want to clean them as they are new. Search engine AI says soap and water seem like a good idea, baking soda paste for stains BUT there's that gasket. The gasket is foreign (irony) and seems like extruded and shaped backer rod styrofoam.
Did anyone have any easiness or tears removing/replacing the gasket?
Was there any mold or mildew weeping because of imperfect drying?

 | I have this tattoo from 20 years ago. I was as told that to cover it up I'd have to get a pretty big piece and I'm trying to keep it under the sleeve of a t-shirt. So I'm thinking I'll get it restored and add other stuff around it, turning it into a larger shoulder piece. I have no artistic imagination so I'm looking for help. I thought doing something for my sons like their birth flowers (July and December) would integrate nicely but my wife says she doesn't see me as a "flower guy" and suggested I do dinosaurs or something. I wouldn't mind doing something with a T-Rex and triceratops skull but I just can't imagine it. Does anyone have any ideas on what would integrate well or willing to mock something up? Doesn't have to be dinosaurs I'm pretty open at this point. Ich hab Grad den Song "gegen den Baum" von Herr Kuchen gehört und stellir jetzt die Frage, da ich ab Montag ein Job hab der durch ganz Deutschland geht , ob ich den Stress den ich Zuhause hab vermissen Werd, oder ob meine Eltern dann chilliger werden und er aufhört? Also ich streite viel mit meinem Vater wegen meiner Stiefmutter. Er ist immer auf meiner Seite, außer wenn sie was mitbekommt und ich denk, dass das arschloch verhalten ist wobei ich ihn auch versteh, weil mein Opa im Sterbeniegt und er den ganzen Stress hat..das mein Opa stirbt stört mich erstaunlich wenig weil es Terror seit Jahren ist und ich gönn jedem die Ruhe (auch meim Opa(nicht bösd gemeint)) und denk mir immer so ist es am besten, aber frag mich dann ob ich das Arschloch bin. All in all bin ich bald weg aber weiß nicht wie ich mich verhalten soll. Hat da jemand rüxkneldung vllt auf Erfahrung das ich das irgendwie best möglich mach? Mein Vater versucht sein bestes genauso wie der Rest der Familie und unterstützt mich wo es geht. Daher kann ich auf kein böse sein ich werde nicht geschlafen etc. Und versteh woher der Stress kommt beim Rest. Daher bin ich im Zwiespalt.
