2025.01.22 23:15 CavitySearchParty Newly enlisted and the EO Trump just signed
Iām 25 and ftm transgender with my 3 year contract just signed for the Army a few weeks back in December 2024. I ship out in March for BCT to Ft. Moore and Iām really getting worried about the executive order Trump just signed to reverse the military trans ban and taking away even more protections for us trans folks.
A little background, Iāve been transitioning since I was 11, been on HRT for 9 years, had top surgery with all legal documents with my gender marker changed to male. The whole recruitment process and MEPS visits, everything shows that Iām male but also documented that Iām transgender so regardless I process in as a male. I was told that since Iām processing in as male, thatās how DEERS will see it aside from it documented that Iām a transgender male and thatās where the worry lies with the EO being signed and more to follow as the days/weeks go by with him in office.
Iāve already known about Trumpās plans with the āProject 2025ā prior to signing and him taking office but it wasnāt stopping me because Iāve always wanted to be in the Army. Kind of the āfuck it, just going to see what happens and whatever happens, happensā attitude towards it. But now that he signed that shit the day of/day after to reverse it, Iām worried it will be all for nothing before the year (or sooner) is over with or my life is going to be hell the moment I ship out because of the whole thing. But then again, Iām going in as MALE and I donāt like to tell people Iām trans either way unless I absolutely have to and aside from people with authority that have to know, ya know? Bottom line with that, it probably doesnāt matter regardless.
I know thereās still so many unanswered questions and concerns out there about whatās to come because at this point, the U.S. government leaders are predictably unpredictable. And my recruiter told me not to worry about it coming back from MEPS with my contract sign already and just said to keep going in headstrong but itās hard to when my ship out date is 2 months out and things are going to start getting a little fucky. Iām going to talk to him about it tomorrow when I go in for my OPAT and future soldiers orientation and go from there though.
Honestly just wanting some honest feedback from yāall because Iām straight up c o n f l i c t e d.

Hello all, I bought a new Corolla last month. The dealer had my car transferred from out of state, and when I picked up the car, they didn't make me aware that it had a differerent VIN than what was on the paperwork I signed. Unfortunately, when they submitted my paperwork to my state's DMV they put the old VIN on the paperwork and I got a title in the mail with the wrong VIN on it.
I am going into my state's DMV to have my title corrected (and am contacting my insurance company to have the vin corrected through them) but I'm not sure if this could cause me title related issues in the future.
Is it possible at all that Toyota could have also mistakenly sold someone else a car and put my new car's VIN number on their paperwork? I'm not sure what their internal system is like and if it would even allow them to sell the same vin number twice. If it helps, when I picked up the car they helped me register the car on the Toyota app with the vin number and is is registered to my account. What I'm wondering about is if maybe they had promised my car to someone else who reserved it?
Just wondering if I could have any issues in the future with another person trying to claim they own my car even if I get the title corrected. I need to put my mind at ease!

I'm 40 and after nearly two decades doing managerial accounting in the hospitality industry, I've decided to go back and get my CPA to open some new doors and create a new path. I wanted to ask the fellow olds who have taken the exam recently-ish or are studying now some questions on the grind? Extra help appreciated from parents, my kiddos are 4 and 6.
Whats working for you? Whats not? What systems are you using? What guides? Whats your schedule look like as a working stiff/parent?
