Hello everyone! So my dad lost his cousin who was his very best friend, just a week ago. From the moment I heard I felt absolutely awful, I cried the entire day until my head violently hurt. My mom knew the night before but told my dad after he went to his doctor’s appointment because she was worried that he wouldn’t show up. She said she felt really sad but couldn’t cry, now granted this was not a cousin we seen often. He lives in Alabama and we live in south Florida so it’s through phone that my dad will connect with him. The night that my father and I were made aware of the death I cried with my dad and my mom was slightly making fun of us and it stopped my dad from crying but I told her that she shouldn’t do that. My dad has 6 other siblings but he was closer with this cousin than he was with his own sibling. He spoke with his cousin on Friday and the cousin died Sunday night. So it’s nearly unfathomable to accept.
Here’s where the issue lies| the funeral will be had in Alabama and we cannot fly because my mom does not want to spend all of that money for a 2 day trip. I completely understand that, but with the snow and everything my mom had hesitations about driving up there and was going to drive up with my paternal aunt however my father does not want to be couped up with them plus we would still be driving to Alabama on the day of the funeral and it’s cutting it very close. So my mom felt annoyed and just now said, “I don’t even want to go to the funeral”. This upsets me because I feel like that’s a display of poor character. When we were looking at old videos of the cousin my mom was making fun of my dad and said that he was acting like a lovesick school girl. I understand that you don’t want to do the drive but other members of his family are doing it. My aunt will still be doing the drive whether we are with her or not. My dad and his cousin were so close that after they were made aware of his death everyone called my dad to check in with him. I just feel like she’s unable to see how it looks because of the inconvenience it causes her. I told her that we can get as many coats as we need but we cannot get this opportunity back.
What do you think? Am I being too harsh on her about this? Is there no use in going? I cringe at the idea of not being there because 1. My dad SAID he would be there and 2. If someone you spoke to every day just died, you wouldn’t go to their funeral? As if they meant nothing to you? It’s just frustrating.
Please if there is any perspective that I’m not seeing help me to get it.

2025.01.23 00:02 Unusual-Diver-8505 If a season 3 is ever made, I don't want John back as a villain/vigilante, but rather as a Hannibal Lecter-like figure.
 | Whenever someone makes a post talking about which villains should be in a potential season 3, I always see someone mentioning Doe, but I think that would be repetitive and redundant, as The Enemy Within was already all about the Joker. Instead, I think he should return as a Hannibal Lecter-like character, with Bruce/Batman visiting him in Arkham seeking information and insight on the current threats he would be facing. Our choices in The Enemy Within could even affect how intense the scene is and how hard it would be to get him to talk. We've already seen something like this in season 1, with John revealing to Bruce that Vicki was actually an Arkham and telling him to "ask the Vales", but I think they should expand that concept into a full interrogation scene. Even ping-pong feels awsome. The current gameplay is even worse than pre-release period. 1. Players are gliding, feels like FC (frozen christmas) ⛸️ 2. ball physics needs improvement, 3. ping-pong is at next level, 4. many times random long shot goes through keeper's legs (I've enjoyed it because 8 out of 9 times I had the joy of enjoying this glitch 🤣🤡) 5. Last updated was better in terms of fair-play but not fair-play is not suitable to be used.

2025.01.23 00:02 j_ho_lo The three hardest puzzles I have completed thus far
 | Like my post title says, these three were so difficult, surprisingly so! I love a good challenge, but these were almost too much for me. The first one my in laws bought for me I believe at a Home Goods. The brand name on the container is just "The Puzzle Tin." 1000 pieces. I studied the human skeleton extensively in my schooling, so the theme is right up my alley. But man, this almost broke me. After I finally got the skeletons themselves put together I was left with just white. So much white space with zero other defining characteristics. I ended up separating them into hot dog (tall and skinny) and hamburger (short and fat) pieces and just went and tried each piece in the corresponding space. I really wish I had thought at the time to frame that puzzle because now I want to but I don't know that I can put myself through completing it again 🙃 Side note, does anyone else think of the standard puzzle piece shapes that way? I tried explaining it to my husband, who doesn't puzzle, and he looked at me like I had ten heads and said to him they are all the same shape so that differentiation made no sense. The second puzzle was Melissa and Doug "Walk in the Park," 1500 pieces. After that black and white I overcorrected to as colorful as I could find. I came across this at a thrift store and in the end it was only missing 2 pieces. But this took at least three solid weeks of working at it at least an hour a day. It has a lot of color, but the brush strokes made it very difficult. I don't know how easy it is to tell on the third photo. I definitely got my $6 worth! Third is Buffalo "Butterfly Spectrum" 1500 pieces. Another that I thought looked simple and nice and colorful and yet totally humbled me 😆 I look forward to my next challenge. Hi all, I am writing this to all of you. I am just confused about things here. The situation will be the same for most UB students. We are paying thousands on tuition and other comprehensive fees that we are meant to pay. Okay, that's fine. But why do I pay for the books that will be gone after a semester or two? Students like me are collecting money to be independent, and when we are about to touch the tuition and fees, other expenses are added to us: books by instructors SPECIFIED by the instructors; why? Books cost more than 200 dollars now, and how do you suppose we will pay that amount when we are already under a financial burden? Why can't the professors post assignments in UBLearns? The Cherry on the cake is that only a few professors help us combat the situation. This is like open bribery; Teachers partner with publications and get student commissions to purchase the books. Why can't you establish a centralized syllabus and teach us?....
