Hey! I'm a pretty new ado fan (and new jpop fan) and I'm in love with her singing. I'm planning to attend the Melbourne Hibana tour which will be my first ever concert and I just have some questions -
- Are there mostly japanese people who attend these concerts or are there more international fans that attend these. I don't have any friends to go with and am going alone and despite having pretty bad social anxiety i want to talk to some people there. I'm hoping most there would be speaking english to begin with since it would be pretty awkward to join a japanese conversation in english. (I don't know japanese AT ALL)
- Again I don't speak ANY japanese or understand it, I just really enjoy ado's singing and jpop. So when it comes to concerts, is there an expectation to sing along? Ive seen posts of everyone else practicing memorising her songs or learning japanese despite not knowing the language. Will I be judged for just watching and listening or maybe it will be weird? Sometimes I feel bad listening to jpop since all I can do is listen.
- I only discovered ado ~2 months ago and only discovered this tour a few days ago. All the seats remaining are pretty much at the back. Ive never attended a concert before, do backseats take away from the experience? Is it harder to immerse into the show or see ado on stage?
- Will ado talk to the audience and if so will she be doing it in english or japanese?

TLDR: WW2 + time travel + gender bender!
Hey, everyone! I’m currently searching for a new long term roleplay partner with whom I could possibly brainstorm this sort of story idea or pitch, rather than an actual plot itself, so if anything I'm absolutely willing to find and discuss ways to improve upon it and maybe make it work even further!
So my idea takes a bit of Terminator and Captain America and all those War-Time movies and drama and such. My idea revolves around my character (who's pretty much a self insert of myself, I'll be honest haha!) being zapped to the 1940's as this cute young woman who's about to volunteer in the European front as a nurse (though she could as well be a pin-up girl or someone you'd see in a poster asking you to buy war bonds!).
The story's sort of twist is that there must be a reason why I'm being sent back in time has a purpose; a la Terminator - fix history, prevent an event from happening. Catch some time-space criminal. Something. A mission that as the story progresses, might become even more difficult to fulfill... and a mission that, ironically, if I don't succeed with it, it might make things work out just right...
I myself am M24 from the Pacific Time Zone! My DMs and Messages are open to discuss and brainstorm this story!!

I can sometimes understand how viewers and the cast might read Ubah’s behavior. But it’s ALMOST always defensible and understandable to me bc it’s like they never consider all the factors and also excuse when others do the exact same thing they criticize Ubah for. Last year Sai yelled and verbally accosted many many people and was super aggressive and angry. Erin, Brynn and Sai all yell when they are having back and forth tiffs with ppl (especially anytime they’re coming at Jessel). And somehow their elevated voices and demeanor are read as just that or completely glossed over. But somehow Ubah’s elevated voice is deemed aggressive, jarring, volatile, unhinged, unstable….as if Brynn hasn’t been poking her, gaslighting her, being colorist towards her and Ubah has been trying to make note of this since the first season. And then the fact that there’s somewhat of a language and cultural barrier so all Ubah’s thoughts aren’t properly expressed and the way she receives things maybe different than what was said or intended. And the women know this (about the language barrier) It would drive anyone to become super defensive and possibly lose their shit. It’s like when no one believes you about there being some type of supernatural force in the house bc you’re the only one who sees random objects moving and a creepy little girl down the hall in the middle of the night. But then slowly others start to experience things too and you’re like see look I told, until you’re completely vindicated. They’re not considering all these experiences of Ubah, that’s why I’ve been team Ubah even when I feel like she’s doing the effing most (PR beach scene, girl wtf) bc it feels like all her behavior is under a microscope and Erin or Brynn’s behavior gets excused and they’re coddled even tho they know for a fact and have all at some point confirmed Brynn’s pot stirring and “embellishing”.
As a black woman watching and experiencing this behavior of another black woman it’s literally caused visceral reactions every episode. I put myself in her shoes and feel like I’d need therapy dealing with this and that angers me bc to be in a group that scrutinizes the behavior of the only unambiguous dark skin black woman under a microscope and completely ignore the similar behaviors of her lighter skinned counterparts feels very gaslightly and isolating. So I’ve felt where Ubah has always came from when she says something is gaslighting. It feels like the traumatization of a black woman in the name of ratings, when Brynn should’ve been fired.

I'm married with two young kids, and several months ago got a big promotion that comes with way more hours, and over the past few months I've just been feeling isolated and alone, and would love some female chat companionship. First time subreddit poster but I need advice. So today I’ve been pretty nauseous. I’ve drank water, I’ve eaten and done all that jazz. The only think I could think off that’s throwing me off is my commute. For context I live in Canada where the past few days have been between -8 and -24°c. My public transportation commute is about 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to my college. It’s freezing waiting for the bus. But on the bus it’s hot so you start sweating especially because you’re all bundled up. Then you go outside again to catch another bus or get to class and freeze again. It’s just a cycle of cold and sweat. What can I do about this, feeling like throwing up all day when I have no other option isn’t ideal when you’re trying to get a degree 😕
