My friend told me about this situation, and I wanted to get some thoughts on it, especially from women. He saw a girl he thought was cute at his gym and wanted to ask for her number but didn’t want to interrupt her workout. Instead, he ended up doing random machines until he noticed her already walking out the doors. He followed her out, but by the time he caught up, she was already in her car (it’s winter, 7 pm, dark, semi-lit parking lot, and cold).
He tried to get her to roll down her window to talk, showing her a message on his phone asking if he could ask her a question. She shook her head no, and he now realizes how bad the situation must have looked from her perspective. He feels awful about it and wants to apologize if he sees her at the gym again, explaining that he had no bad intentions and knows he handled it poorly. He doesn’t want to bring up his original intention, but just to clear the air.

 | Just picked up this 80’s Music Man 112 RD 50 for a steal, got it for $300 bucks. I believe it’s been re-upholstered, since I cannot find this red/burgundy tolex anywhere with brass hardware and a black grill cloth. Anyways it just needs some TLC (super dusty inside and out) and I am considering getting a silvegold grill cloth back on it! Great sounding amp, love the clean and dirty sounds. The clean has a bright option too which is neat, never seen that. Reverb is super sweet! My amp “collection” is complete now as this is all I needed.  | I have an old item of my great-grandma’s- my great-aunt says it was a ‘quilting frame’ and that she can remember it often being set up at their kitchen table, propped up on chairs. It is obviously homemade. Photos show the parts. Everything is marked at 1” intervals. The ‘H’ shaped pieces have small holes along their length that match those in the flat pieces of wood at the top of the photo. Two of the ‘H’ shaped pieces are thicker and have wider grooves than the others. There were also two pieces of leather lacing stored with it. I don’t think there is anything major missing, as all was neatly wrapped up and stored together. The various tongues and grooves are all sized to fit together, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how the pieces would be arranged, their purpose, or if it even was a quilting frame at all. She also did a lot of other sewing, embroidery and cross stitch, and the frame seems quite small to me compared to what I’ve seen others use for hand quilting. Hi, every time I try to download or update a game it goes insanely slow (0.1 KB/s), but whenever I do a network speed test it shows me having a high download and upload speed. Is there anything I can do to make my computer download faster? My computer has also been freezing a lot since switching to Windows 11, but the downloading issue has been going on longer than that.

Hi everyone, I’m considering moving to Rochester from California with plans to rent for a year before purchasing a home. I know the property taxes are high, and I’m aware that winters can be quite cold, but I’m still very interested in making the move.
I’ve heard that the job market here can be slow, and I’m wondering if this is true across all industries. Specifically, how is the market for caregivers or financial advisors? Also, I’m 26 years old and curious if the city has a decent population of people around my age. In Southern California, there were plenty of people in my age group, but where I live in Northern California now, it feels like there are mostly retirees. Also any good spots in the city yo get a studio apt?
I’d love to hear your thoughts and any advice you can offer about living in Rochester. Thank you in advance!

I locally have a CXR dataset of 7000 training images and 1500 test images on CXR. Each of the samples has 14 labels which are classified as 1 or 0 (positive or negative) with corresponding 14 common thoracic diseases.
I think the most common tasks to exploit the dataset would be image-level multi-label classification or image segmentation/localization. But I want to do something more interesting and a bit novel as my own personal project. I have read so many articles on CXR and machine learning/deep learning techniques but they seem to go back to typical classification and segmentation.
Do you have any ideas? The thoughts could be
- Interesting, a bit new
- Does not have to be a full end-to-end task, could be simply an interesting feature extraction method
- I tried hierarchical / interdependent labels among these diseases but since my CXR dataset only has samples on specific population, so only 200 samples has more than 1 labels. Thus hierarchy among labels might not something viable to consider.
- Can be combined with other dataset? Like some multimodal fusion in cancer between genomic data and histopathological images
- ...
