Hi all,
Very new to this arena with no experience. (I’ve enjoyed this community after joining a week ago.)
I’ve been offered two jobs:
- Medium Law - Real Estate/Commercial as a legal assistant. Staid and respected firm. 8 attorneys/3 assistants (I’d be the 4th working with 2). Little to no turnover.
- Small Law - as an undetermined roll. Plaintiff’s Attorney/PI specializing in Insurance. Well respected and established. (2 attorneys/1 assistant). Hoping to grow the practice.
I’ve a ton of experience in just about all else. Owning businesses…
Law, for better or worse, has always held a real interest. This will be it for me until I retire in 15-20 years.
They are all really nice people.
One obviously represents really wealthy people while the other represents people like me.
One represents a clearly defined set of tasks while the other, in my mind, resembles the Wild West where my experience may come in handy.
I can handle a lot. I’m good with clients. My mind is curious and often relentless in terms of knowing more. I excel with details, editing, analysis, presentations, and being informed.
It’s ironic to me after 6 months of trying to identify jobs that I’ve been offered two in one day with zero experience.
What I’m trying to determine is which might be a better fit. One kind of grabs my heart while the other my wallet.
A tall ask but I’m curious to hear about any experiences in either realm of these types of practices please?
Apologies if this is too vague.
Both firms know one another and know I’m trying to make a decision. Both need immediate help. And both have said if you choose the other over us, “we wish you the best.”

I just realized every single problem Major and minor in the anime is caused by people wanting to fuck - Merlin wanting Meliodas - Meliodas and Elizabeth fighting the demon king and goddess - King and Dianne with wanting her memories to return Zeldris wanting to be demon king
The list goes on, but literally every problem is centered around I wanna fuck but the antagonist won't let me so I'm just blow up everything now. I just thought it was funny and was wondering if people agree.

i’m going on a caribbean cruise with norwegian prima. i keep seeing all these threads and blogs where people ask for FREE recommendations, and all of the comments are “you must pay $50 to hold a sloth/get drunk on the beach/swim with dolphings!!”
i do not want that. i want to visit a public beach for free in roatan and costa maya. i don’t mind paying for a taxi there of course. if anyone has any tips or suggestions please let me know. thank you so much :-)

2025.01.23 05:15 Neighborhood-Villian This Season's Battlepasses were pretty Lackluster
Something to note before I go on a rant about how I didn't really care for either of the battlepasses this season, is that since I played a bit of the beta I've never really had to pay for the for any of post release Battlepasses. Which you could argue could render my complaints void but Battlepasses don't just cost money, they cost time. The previous season's Battlepasses have costed a lot of time but for the most part the skins and stuff I've gotten from this have made this artwork worthwhile exchange. I wouldn't say I got as much out of as I've done with Fortnite Battlepasses or DBD's rift, but they were serviceable. Season's one Battlepass is the only one of previous season Battlepasses that I really have a issue with considering while the rewards were good, especially the Uber Jason skin, it was too much of a grind to get through, this Season's two Battlepasses have a opposite issue.
What I mean about that is that while they cost less time, they have much less value. Which is expected considering that a character that is no longer locked behind the Battlepass, and there's no two shorter battle passes. I don't expect either one of these mini passes to have the same value as the bigger passes of the past, but together I'd expected them to be comparable to the previous pass and they just aren't. Each of them only really have one skin high rarity skin and you get that right from the start with each of them, which while definitely gives value in buying the pass especially with the Marceline since that's a skin from the show fans will recognize, but kind takes from the value of actually progressing the pass. When the objectively best and most valuable skin in the is at the beginning of the pass, what's the point of putting time and effort into it when you're just not going to get anything as cool as the tier one reward. Especially since the rest of the skins are either leftovers from the events(At least the Beetlejuice skin is probably the better of the sweater event skins) and the two ones that aren't event leftovers(the pajama and Unicorn skins) aren't exactly worth grinding for either.
The structure of the pass is so much worse the first three as well, like none have any skins at the end tier, and with the second one there's no more skins behind tier 30. It's filled with so much filler as well, which the other three had this issue as but there was at least some good stuff to balance it off. Now it's just all filler pretty much, and without a cool skin at there's no point of going through all that filler.like it doesn't feel like this Battlepass is even made to be get people to buy it, rather it's just made because there had to be one, or they'd have rework the whole mission system, so they just cobbled these two up together with event skins they've already made and other stuff they had leftover and called it day.
I used to grind for these passes daily, complete any mission I can even if they were really annoying in previous seasons. And with this latest pass I took a multiple week break from even progressing it because I hardly found the point of it. I only recently completed it by going through the several weekly challenges I had accumulated while I was trying to get the polar Jason skin. I probably would've never gotten this pass if I didn't already have the gleamium, and if you don't, just don't get the pass unless you really want that marceline skin. Because while the price in game currency wise was marked down, you'd still have to get 1000 gleamiums to buy this since you can't just buy exactly 800 of the currency. So this still costs as much as Fortnite's and Rival's Battlepasses which are just more worthwhile investments imo both money and time wise, i got Godzilla from this season's Battlepass, that's a lot more interesting of a reward than the iron giant with a ice filter. I probably won't get the season 5 if it isn't that much of a improvement over this one, probably save the gleamium for if Jason ever gets a store skin and the time I would spend grinding that battlepass on betterpasses. Also a final note I can't even really use any the good skins from the passes since I don't have either of the characters yet, and I don't want to spend gleamium on them and I don't if I want to grind for them so in reality I really didn't get much of anything from these passes.

Hey everyone, I’m currently weighing my options for a Master’s in Game Development and need some advice. I’ve been accepted to both RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) and SMU Guildhall, and I’ve been offered a 30% scholarship at RIT.
A little about me:
- I’m in my 4th year of undergraduate studies in Computer Science, with a focus on CSE AI/ML.
- I’m passionate about game design and game engineering, with a strong focus on AI, game mechanics, and interactive media.
- I’ve authored a book and written a couple of research papers in game development.

I recently got a new M3 Air and found that Preview inverts the colors on some but not all of my pdfs in a seemingly arbitrary fashion. Why is this happening and how do I prevent this behavior?
