Flew from US to Pakistan in Economy class. The segment between US and Istanbul was quite nice, with better catering, better quality headsets, even the blankets were a better quality.
Though I will admit the lack of power sockets on their 787 is a massive letdown in this day and age. Catering was excellent and I ate everything on my tray.
Then we got the flight from Istanbul to Pakistan. My outbound aircraft was a ex-Skymark A330 while the return leg was on a ex-TAM A330 aircraft. Both of them had aging seats with something malfunctioning, in my mom's case it was the IFE remote while my screen was not working. On the positive note the seats were actually more spacious compared to the newer 787. However the crew were not willing to reset the IFE system in our row and seemed annoyed that we suggested it.
The crew were so cranky. Even asking for an additional blanket was met with contempt. I aim to be polite to people in the service industry but jeez, my IST - ISB flight was not even half full and they were so outright hostile to passengers, like shouting at us for trivial things. After the meal service, the crew closed off the galley, so anytime a passenger asks for something like water, the crew would be incredibly cranky in obliging. I even heard the crew complaining about passengers on the aft galley in Turkish. I actually found the meal to be incredibly disgusting, I pinched my nose to eat it since I was pretty hungry but eventually gave up, and asked if there was anything else to eat. The crew rudely told me no and this isn't restaurant. I saw some marble cake packets and asked if I could have that, with a eyeroll it was shoved in my hand.
Then on the KHI - IST segment we were only offered a single pastry (burek) with some mushrooms as the sole main entree, while tasty, it is a very light meal. On a 6 hour flight, that is mediocre for a full service airline that constantly boasts about being Europes best. The crew could barely understand English and whatever interaction I had with them was constantly passive aggressive.
I also noticed that they do not stock any snacks such as crackers on the flights to Pakistan, if you're still hungry, you can try asking if they can give you a leftover meal. Meanwhile on shorter flights like IST - DXB they usually have olive oil crackers, or packaged cakes on longer flights. I find it bizarre that shorter flights have something for passengers to nibble on if you are peckish, but nothing is offered for the segments to Pakistan.
Then from IST - US was pretty good. The flight was oversold but the crew were all polite, albeit a bit surely, and the food was so good.
I feel so conflicted because the segment between US - IST is pretty good, their food is actually something I look forward to enjoying, but the service on Pakistan bound flights feels so degrading. I also had a issue with a wheelchair and the incompetence with their customer service makes Spirit look good. Istanbul airport is a mess, with rude ground staff, and gate numbers being posted 90 minutes prior to departure. I dread having to use Turkish for this specific market, but unfortunately there is very limited choices of air carriers in Pakistan so we just gotta push thru.
I am curious to know if anyone also had a similar dilemma?

Since bumping up my dose to 1 I have just felt levels of exhaustion I didn’t know possible. I had a work event in the evening and had to come home early in the afternoon to nap otherwise I wouldn’t have made it through. I spend the majority of my days off in bed sleeping or resting. Any tips or advice? I am trying to ensure I’m eating protein and taking vitamin D, B12 and iron (for anemia), I know I’m supposed to exercise too but I can barely get out of bed lol

Trying to plan a trip to the UP (lifelong michigander who's never been up there believe it or not) but I have some accessibility issues that make long hours on my feet or in the sun a no-go. I know most people go up north for hiking/camping/water sports, but I can't participate in any of those. But I don't want to miss out on the beautiful nature and I've never seen Lake Huron.
Where is a good place for me to plant myself for a week an enjoy the scenery and maybe grab some good food? I'd like to stay in one place for the most part, not drive all over.

photography is a hobby of mine that helps a lot with my loneliness and anxiety and depression and all but lately i've been slacking a lot, and haven't really been working on it.
but i went outside and took some pictures today and it felt good! i felt happy, and i don't know, i know this isn't really the right sub for this, but i wanted to share a small victory :).
it's hard for me to really find moments of peace anymore, y'know, so when i'm actually able to find one it feels like a really big deal to me, and i just never really have anyone to share that with and tell it to.
