I have a Samsung A55 (dreadful I know). I’ve had it for years. I have a memory card in it, however I have been editing photos and had moved a bunch to the phone storage.
My phone was just run over yesterday :(
The screen isn’t working. I’m unsure if I can press anything on the screen. Phone is charging and I can call it. Getting notifications, I can connect it to my laptop, with the phone link. However after the latest update I need to allow some permissions or settings for it to connect.
Can anyone suggest what I could do, or if you think they could be salvaged. We have been travelling the past year and all our family travel photos from around Australia are on there :(

Over the past 2 years in NYC I've been running events. These gross about 2k an event. In July, my plan is to move into a storage warehouse. This has been done many a time in this city, throwing events for ticketed shows, yoga, art nights, etc.
To open this I need about $20k, for building out, initial costs, rent, etc. The budget is prepared. We're looking at about 4k a month for rent. I wanted to take out a $5k loan for this endeavor, we have the rest from investors and donations, but was hoping to loan out through an LLC? Is it even worth it to become an LLC for what I'm trying to do?
I hear it's easiest to create an LLC in Delaware and transfer it NYC. I'm slowly trying to learn this all and any help would be wildly appreciated.

I’ve been seeing a lot of LinkedIn posts recently about VC firms hiring investment analysts, and honestly, the entire application process pisses me off.
I applied to quite some, and this is where I realised how fucked this is.
Gatekeepers: Almost every single one of these firms wants candidates with only three types of backgrounds: 1. Investment Banking 2. Consulting 3. Another VC firm
Oh, and they want you to have 2-3 years of experience from one of these fields, with a tier-1 pedigree (like IITs, DU). Some even demand sectoral expertise as if that’s a basic thing right out of college.
I get that some VC funds specifically hire engineers for tech or operational roles (I’m not an engineer, so “not my expertise”). But having worked in a bank and have a lot of friends in IB, they say that they usually never see the really “high-quality” deals.
These “ideal” candidates are already making ₹14-30L+ a year. Why would they even consider an entry-level VC role that likely just matches or maybe pays less? VC firms can’t match that unless they stretch their budget which eventually leads you to hire tier-1/2 MBAs for just a bit more money.
The Sourcing Scam (disguised by interviews):
“Give us a list of 10 startups you would invest in”, “Which startups do you like from our portfolio (confirmation bias?)”, “extra points if they’re undiscovered.” Just admit it — you’re crowd-sourcing potential investment ideas from job seekers for free. This is market research masquerading as a recruitment question. If you want a pipeline of interesting startups, hire a consultant, have a LinkedIn content creation game, and pay for the work. Don’t dangle a potential interview as bait for people doing the job you’re too lazy to pay for upfront.
“Send us a Loom”, “Record a 5 min video answering our 4 questions”, “Video pitch us a startup idea”:
Some of them have the audacity to ask for a “5-minute” video . Why? If you like someone’s written application, call them for an interview. The right to privacy is a joke.
I’m a guy, and even I’m not really keen with sending a recorded video of myself to strangers. I can only imagine how much worse this feels for women applying to these roles.
The Mandatory (Numbers only) Current and Expected Salary:
Not relevant to VC, but it's an Indian thing at this point. You know where you stand in terms of competitiveness. Price yourselves accordingly instead of forcing candidates to disclose their numbers upfront. Pay for talent. But I guess that’s a thing everywhere at this point to be very honest.
“Pre-MBA”: Glad to know you admit that it takes an MBA to be seen seriously in Finance. VC firms want candidates with 2 years of experience in consulting, VC, or IB for fixed-term (typically 2 years), pre-MBA roles. These firms only hire from tier-1 schools, which makes the talent pool hyper-narrow.
Basically:
You want specific backgrounds from an elite (and most likely privileged) talent pool. You want people to work for just 2 years before coming to you, work 2 years more before heading to B-school (4+ years of work ex) And your “videos”, “free startup names”, which gives you access to 100s of unique names for hiring 1 candidate.
I’ve already started applying cautiously. Make it a long tedious 2 hour exam with a ghost video interview and I’m not applying. Maybe that’s a shared sentiment with those guys you are actually looking to hire.

TL;DR: VC job applications are an elaborate circus where only ex-bankers, consultants, and other VCs get tickets. And stop asking me to do free startup sourcing & record cringy videos. I’m applying for a job, not auditioning for “Shark Tank: Intern Edition.”

Banjo debuted as a playable character in the roster of Diddy Kong Racing. However Kazooie wasn’t there with him, so she didn’t make her debut until Banjo-Kazooie where she was the main character alongside Banjo. The DK in Smash is from DKC not the original arcade Donkey Kong. DKC Donkey Kong is the grandson of the Gorilla who threw barrels at Mario. Therefore that character of DK didn’t make their video game debut until the first DKC game where he was the main character. Before anyone says “well acthually Sonic debuted as a cameo in Rad Mobile, 5 months before the first Sonic game”. There is a sonic keychain in the car in the game…they didn’t shrink sonic and hang him from a rope, within the context of the game, that’s not the character of sonic. The character of sonic does not appear until Sonic the Hedgehog(1991) If a character in their debut game can’t be chosen in a single player game, they are not the main character. If they are locked behind player 2 and can’t be chosen by player 1, they’re not the main character. This is the rational for why Luigi, Nana, and Ken and “playable on debut” but their counterparts are “Main character on debut” Miis originated as avatars for the Wii but their first video game appearance was Wii Sports in which they were the main characters. ROB is always weird. He’s a real life toy accessory to the NES but didn’t appear himself in any of the NES games. He does make cameos in video games. His debut appearance was actually in Kirby’s Dreamland 3. Kirby needs to collect his missing pieces for the level. However, he made his playable debut not in Smash Bros, but in Mario Kart DS. Pokemon are in a fun spot. Within the mainline games and most spinoffs, the main character is the trainer you play as, not the Pokemon themself. The same way you controlled Yoshi in Super Mario World but that didn’t mean he was a playable character, you were playing as Mario who happened to be riding Yoshi. You couldn’t play Yoshi on his own. Therefore none of the Pokemon are debuting as playable characters. However, Pokemon has many many MANY spinoffs, including some where you do play as Pokemon. The only times the Pokemon you play as is a main character rather than a character in a roster is in the Pokemon mystery dungeon games. In these games Pikachu, Squirtle and Pichu have all been characters you could choose to be the main hero Pokemon for the story. Thanks to Pokemon Rumble, Pokken Tournament and Pokemon Unite you can play as Jigglypuff, Ivysaur, Charizard, Mewtwo, Lucario and Greninja. However, one Pokemon that wasn’t in any of these games was Incineroar. Pokemon rumble was too early for him and he simply was never added to Pokken Tournament or Pokemon Unite. That means Smash Bros is the ONLY game you can play as Incineroar. While Captain Falcon, Terry and Kazuya are the faces of their franchises, in their debut games they were simply one of the characters on a roster you could choose. Bowser was a main character in Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story. Likewise Bowser Jr. was a main character in Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Story. I am aware that the FIRE Piranha Plant is playable in Mario Tennis Aces. I have watched a YouTube video of a lama/rinpoche who said that Yidam deity practice is there to transform the ego.
So, whenever I strongly feel my ego, such as being stressed with a problem, I quickly imagine the yidam deity.
With contemplating the no-self and emptiness wisdom, I imagine I'm no longer there (physical form, identity, those stuff) and what is there is just the deity, I think it liberates a little, and if I do it more often, I might get used to have less ego and have more view of no-self and emptiness more often.
