I am on a dive SAR team that requires a pretty rigorous “water(wo)man” test with various components. It’s more rigorous than the PADI intstructor swim test, which I have passed.
I am wondering: which are the best scuba fins for swimming as fast as possible in a pool in skin gear? I mostly own heavy fins, which, in addition to being slow, hurt my knees and ankles when swimming. (I already own the following fins: Hollis F1, Hollis F2, Hollis LT, Scubapro Jet, OMS Tribe, Scubapro Seawing Nova). I don’t think swimmer’s training fins are right, either, because they are designed to train you to kick without them, not for speed in the pool. So what are the fastest fins? Bonus points if I can also use them for scuba with a 3mm wetsuit.

I'm heading off to Italy for a holiday soon and I was looking into the recepton of Tolkien there. Obviously there's a lot of controversy considering the 'far-right' adoption of Tolkien. Clearly there's also a sort of 'anti-Tolkien' left-wing camp led by Umberto Eco, apparently. This article goes some way towards exploring the dichotomy:

I think the article misrepresents Tolkien on several points, (least of all, that the hobbits are somehow uncomplicatedly representative of rural, right-wing lifeways) and I feel the left and right in Italy both misread Tolkien. Any Italians here, what do you think?

Did anyone else notice their eczema get worse and spread the first week or two of dupixent? I'm getting eczema in places I've never had and all within the last week. I got my loading dose a week ago and heard some had a flare when they first started just wanted to see if this was common?

i dont know where else to put this, to be honest. im a current undergrad student and i had to leave towards the beginning of the semester sue to personal financial reasons to work full time. i want to go back to school because im almost done with my degree. i fully understood i would owe a couple thousand if i withdrew for the semester but i wasnt quite worried about that and more worried about my personal finances at the time (bad idea i know). now that i am somewhat ok personally, i want to go back to school, however that balance is not letting me register for classes at all. i've been making small payments on the balance every month as much as i can, however the balance is wayy too big. at my school you have to have a balance of under $1500 to register for classes, however i have wayy more than that due. i cant get a private loan due to my credit still recovering, i dont have a cosigner and i cant afford the payment plans the school is offering (over $400 a month for every plan i looked at). i met with a financial aid advisor for the school as well and he only really recommended a private loan if my financial aid cant cover it. i am a completely independent student (not according to fafsa but in general), i live with multiple roommates and have multiple bills, including a car payment. i have no idea what to do and i dont want to get unenrolled, especially since i am SO close to being done. any info or help is appreciated.

I was told my package would be arriving today by Aramex and expected it would as it has done so many times.
I was out of the house today from approximately 10:30 to 2:00 pm. I was checking the tracking updates throughout the day to see if it had said my package had been delivered.
At 2:30 pm I get a tracking update that says that my address details were incorrect and the courier has been unable to deliver my package.
I clicked on the rearrange delivery option and they told me that a calling card had been left at my address. I went outside and couldn’t find this calling card anywhere. I looked under my doormat and in my mailbox. I looked inside my house under the door where they usually slide them but it was nowhere.
I’ve reached out to Aramex customer support to try and understand why this has happened and where my calling card is now because I can’t rearrange a delivery without it. I’m told that there is a 2 business day wait.
I’m not in desperate need for this parcel, but it would just be nice to have a little bit more insight into this situation in case this has happened to anybody else.
