2025.01.23 06:47 No_Yogurtcloset_8748 RPDs/RAC - How important is the patient case in terms of ranking candidates?
I had my first interview yesterday and I felt like I connected and vibed with the RPD, residents, and all of the members RAC interview committee. Overall, the interview itself went well in my opinion.
However, I definitely did not choose the most optimal treatment during the patient case. I don’t think my answers were necessarily wrong, nor did I think I caused any patient harm. In hindsight there were better regimens I could’ve selected.
Honestly there’s no way to know. This is just a mini rant of my frustrations at my brain.

I feel so guilty even saying this, but I’ve been struggling with a lot of resentment toward my sister, and I don’t know what to do about it.
She has autism and is relatively independent—she lives on her own (though with struggles), works, and has a boyfriend. But her boyfriend is honestly a huge issue. He’s a creep who doesn’t respect her disability or how it affects her. He actively encourages her to disregard her family and only listen to him, and it feels like he’s using her. It’s heartbreaking and infuriating to watch, especially because when I or anyone else in the family try to bring this up, she shuts us out or gets defensive.
On top of this, she has a pattern of behavior that makes it hard to be around her. She loves attention—even if it means upsetting or hurting someone—and she seems to enjoy watching how people react when she crosses the line. She’ll say something horrible, pause to gauge the reaction, and then laugh or smile if someone gets upset. It’s exhausting.
One example that really stuck with me was when she tried to tell someone how to parent their kids, saying when their children should start dating. I stepped in and reminded her that it wasn’t her place to comment on someone else’s parenting choices, but she gave me a smug look and dismissed me as “too conservative.” She completely missed the point—that it’s not about whether teens should date but about respecting boundaries.
Another thing that’s hard is how much she drains our mom financially. My mom has a hard time saying no to her, and my sister takes full advantage of it. I can see how much this is wearing on my mom, but my sister doesn’t seem to care as long as she gets what she wants.
I know her autism means she struggles with certain things, but I resent her so much right now that it’s hard to be around her…i also feel like she presents with symptoms that are not autism… . Im over being blamed for not protect ing her enough but then needing to leave her be … it’s always an excuse for her behaviour because she’s autistic…but I also feel like she takes advantage of people, and it’s affecting everyone around in the family… but then again my mom seems to take the punishment! I’m so over it !!

2025.01.23 06:47 Flashy_Bee_3998 My Mom Got Mad at Me [14 F] for Not Explaining How Beginning Band Works (Even Though It’s Not That Deep
So, my mom’s been stuck in California since April because of court stuff—like, seriously, she can’t get her ass out of there no matter what. Meanwhile, I’m here just vibing with my stable childhood trauma because, spoiler alert, my mom’s not exactly Mom of the Year. She’s got bipolar disorder and a talent for verbally ripping into me and my four siblings like it’s her hobby. Talking to her is like trying to disarm a bomb—one wrong word, and boom.
Anyway, I started 8th grade a couple months ago, and my school has this band program. There’s intermediate band for the pros and beginning band for us noobs. I’m in the beginner group, and we had this concert not too long ago. Obviously, my mom couldn’t make it because, y’know, California drama. So we took a bunch of videos and texted them to her because we’re thoughtful like that.
But apparently, she watched the videos and somehow decided that, like, periods 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 were all mashed into one mega-class. Like, what? Ma’am, that’s not even how school works.
Then a couple days later, she calls me up and starts asking how the concert went. I was like, “It was fine,” but before I could even finish, she starts asking about the kid who sat next to me during the concert. For context, my band teacher, Mrs. G (shoutout to her for trying her best), assigned seats, so I had no clue who this kid even was.
So I told her that. Big mistake. She flipped out and was all, “How do you not know this person?!” Like, I’m sorry, Mom, I didn’t memorize their life story during the 45 minutes we were forced to sit next to each other and play music.
At that point, I was over it. She was getting pissed, I was getting pissed, and honestly, the conversation was going nowhere but downhill. So, I did what any self-respecting 14-year-old would do: I hung up. Yeah, just click. Haven’t talked to her since.
Now I’m sitting here wondering: Was I the jerk for hanging up, or was it, like, totally justified? Part of me feels bad, but the other part of me is like, “Nope, not dealing with that circus.”

Seeing some people not really liking the “active” style for the death bringer. I just want to point out why exactly I feel the forced active gameplay is detrimental and why making other classes similar would be a mistake in an effort to garner some support.
The first obvious problem is the active gameplay isn’t active at all. It’s just afk but you have to have the game running for new reason. If it’s gonna be active add something for the player to engage with, otherwise i don’t see a point to make the feature have the game on
Second literally the whole basis of Idleon is that you can have different characters all doing different things making progress. If every new top tier class has forced active mechanics, it completely undermines this games most unique and fun feature.
I think the idea for the death bringer is actually really cool and opens up huge avenues for the game. It’s essentially a prestige mechanic that hasn’t made sense for Idleon in the past, but I see absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t be able to progress this class by idling like everything else in the game.
Thus far I feel active mechanics in this game have been handled pretty well. It’s not necessary but if you wanna put the extra effort in to get a billion wormhole kills or whatever you still get rewarded. But hard forcing “active” gameplay by making me leave a computer on running the game 24/7 is just inconvenient, and in no means qualifies as active gameplay anyway.
I really just don’t see a reason you can’t implement exactly the same mechanics but let you progress them offline, scaling the rate of bone collection or whatever while offline to make it fair.
Progressing idly is the core mechanic of the game, it makes even less sense to only introduce this complete shift in gameplay in the late game when players have already fallen in love with the idle mechanics and clearly enjoy them
I don’t mean to be negative here, I am having fun with death bringer and I genuinely think it’s a really cool pseudo prestige/reset system. But if all the new classes are like this I’d just hate to see myself and so many other players being gatekept out of new content because we don’t want to leave our computers on running the game 24/7

I remember playing this when it was first released. I spent a lot of time on the realms working hard on my character. I even got an onyxia mount with months of grin. The biggest highlight were Legion where I beat Heroic Raids before the next expansion was released, my guild was amazed that a rogue can tank the Armageddon Rain from Kil'jaeden which changed up the rotation of who needs to tank it. But after so many years, I had enough. It wasn't the updates, the new expansion, or life getting in the way that killed my enjoyment. It was my guild at the time. The players that join in were just so selfish as it was about them. I was told many times that I will need to attend their raids because they needed the loot. Loot that was under my level. I was told that I will need to look else where to raid on my proper item level, while joining their raid nights. During that time I was in the military and was dealing with a pretty bad marriage that ended in a divorce. But they didn't care. It hurt me because I helped the guild grow and have the members catch up. I had a pretty high rank in the guild but as time went on, each time I said no or had to leave a raid due to needing sleep I would get demoted another rank down. I still remember it. We were in a normal rank raid and after beating Mistress Sassz'ine at the first part of the Tomb I told them that I am not feeling good and need to log off to get some rest. I told myself if they demote me again when I checked the next day, I was going to leave the guild. Well, after I checked they did in fact demote me to standard member. They still expected me to join their raids and in a sense be their DPS slave. I left the guild as soon as I saw they demoted me again. Almost right away one of the guild members whispered me yelling at me "WTF, why you leave?!" and I explained it to him but he was still seeing it as I was the only one at fault. I just couldn't do it anymore after that. So I left the game.
Why I am posting this now. Well, it has been some time so wanted to give the game another go. Went in with my 30 day pass and was having fun in the classic servers. I just join a guild after 21 days of playing on and off. But after I did, I just got flashbacks of the abuse and gaslighting I had to endure. Even as I am writing this, it is like a ghost in the past that haunts me with the thought that things can turn south. I don't think I can ever return to the game. Not saying there isn't any fun left, but even after this long I just cannot see the game the same.
A good amount of people I spoke with that played and left normally say it is because of guild drama. Not sure if they had the same experience or not. I know it is just a game, but it left me scarred in the end where I cannot look at it the same way when I first played it back in 2004.
