Hey, thanks for reading! Hope you can help. I'm from the UK, a food delivery driver, clocking about 1000 miles a month. Looking to buy a hybrid to save on fuel.
My 2009 Toyota Auris VVTi gets around 38mpg (UK), which is like 10-12 kmpl – rubbish! Want an automatic.
So, is a Hyundai Ioniq any good? Reliability, maintenance, fuel economy – what's the story?
Heard about transmission and battery problems. True?
Or should I stick with a Toyota Auris hybrid or Corolla? Don't like the Prius dashboard, that's why I'm avoiding it.

As mentioned in Part 1, my witness and the other friend failed to attend my wedding ceremony due to being late, which frustrated me both during the ceremony and even at the reception.
After the reception ended, we decided to part ways for a while, even with my husband, since I needed to drop my mother off at her transportation hub for her trip home. Before that, however, my mother wanted to visit the Basilica Sto. Niño. It was supposed to be a quick and peaceful stop.
So, it was just my mother and me at this point, walking on our way to the shrine, when she suddenly brought up something completely unexpected, she accused me of “hiding my condition called PCOS.” I was COMPLETELY SHOCKED. First of all, I have no idea if I even have PCOS. I haven’t been to a doctor to confirm it, though I’ve had my suspicions. What irritated me most was how she claimed that I kept this “secret” from her and that she had to hear it from my mother-in-law. WTF?!
For context, my MIL has a habit of making up stories. Even her own son, my husband, can confirm this.
I was so mad, so much so that I ended up getting upset with my mom, too, for believing it. She was disappointed because she genuinely thought I was hiding this condition from her. But it’s completely untrue! I don’t even know if I have PCOS. And even if I did, why would I hide it? It’s not a deadly disease, after all.
So, I asked my mom how the conversation with my MIL even started. She said my MIL told her: “Naa man gud na siyay PCOS, mao nang ni dako siya pag-ayo. Wa diay ka niya tug-ani?” WTF!!!!!!! I was so mad, but I tried to stay calm, even though I was dying inside. I explained to my mom that maybe she misunderstood what my MIL said. Perhaps my MIL assumed I had PCOS because I had gained weight. But my mom insisted: “No! Iyahang ingon gyud kay, ‘WA DIAY KA NIYA TUG-ANI?’ Meaning naa kay nasulti.”
At that point, I couldn’t control my anger anymore. I firmly told my mom that I had no idea whether I had PCOS because I haven’t been diagnosed by a doctor. Nobody has the right to label me like that.
I was overwhelmed with mixed emotions. I felt accused of hiding something I didn’t even have and body-shamed at the same time. Just because a woman gains weight doesn’t mean she has a medical condition like PCOS! And even if I did have it, I would embrace it, it’s not like it’s something I can control.
Feeling lang gyud nako, gihimo-himoan ko ug storya ug gi-body shame pa gyud. PCOS is no joke, and it’s something many women struggle with or fear.

When I got home, all those emotions I had been holding back finally came pouring out. I burst into tears. Luckily, my husband, being the most understanding person, calmed me down. He reassured me that I was fine and that I shouldn’t let it get to me.
But now, I’m left wondering: Were my feelings valid?

Heya
i hope it's alright to ask here,
i never had any real synesthesia experiences, so I don't think this is it, but maybe someone has experienced something like this.
i'm w, 41, and recently (abt a couple weeks) sometimes when i read, the letters/words on the screen stop lookin like words. they still do, i can still perfectly read and understand them, but it's like they turn into (and i know this sounds odd) 3D shapes (imagine if the screen wasn't flat anymore but wavy) or change color, but they don't actually do it visually?
it's very difficult to explain
it's not all the time, and when it happens, i don't feel off or bad, it jus weirds me out a little
not sure if it's relevant, but i've had occular migraines with visual auras for the past 30 years (very rarely nowadays) maybe that is a factor?
anyway, i just wanted to see if someone has experienced something similar

What jobs / careers pay just enough for you to get by, but take up the least amount of your time?
I realise this is like an impossible ideal, but there are definitely roles out there that give you more freedom than others.
(I worked at a quiet hotel reception for a while where I could just practice guitar or piano, watch tv or read books. While you were locked in there for 8hr shifts, you were free to kind of do whatever you wanted during downtime)
