2025.01.23 12:22 Thickktwinkk Just had a dream about an old “friend” from high school who used to bully me. Why was this so triggering!

In high school I was in the closet and not comfortable with myself. I was shy and quiet. People must have picked up on this as they were awful to me. But it was my “friends” who were mean to me which makes it even worse… the only people I thought liked me.
Recently one of them I friended me on Facebook I have no idea why I only post every so often maybe a photo of me enjoying life out as gay and happy living my best life! Last one before he unfollowed me was me on a beach somewhere saying “this is a dream come true”.
He used to call me a fairy in front of others and they let of a stink bomb in my room (boarding school) and they would all laugh at me and push me to the ground in the dirt. It hurt so much as one of them was my oldest friend and then we had a new friend who joined our group and they both started to bully me so badly. I wanted to leave school but my one female friend said please don’t leave what will I do without you? Also my parents didn’t let me leave as they had already paid for the last three years of school to get discounted price!!
I had one female friend through all of high school but then she became head girl last year and then completely cut me off. It was like she suddenly broke up with me but we were never going out we were friends! We used to spend lunch together and laugh for ages and did everything together so much people thought we were a couple and she wouldn’t correct people who would ask if we were together….. I thought that strange
She sent me a text saying this is for the best one day you will understand and then completely stopped talking to me. We had the same classes and used to sit together all the time. This was so hurtful she tried to make friends with the popular group and started changing personality. Then last month of high school she realized they were not her friends and wanted to be friends with me again. We don’t speak anymore I couldn’t look past how she treated me.
Anyways it’s so hard to trust people when those who I considered my friends treated me so badly in high school. I know this shouldn’t matter but I still have dreams about this and it affects me.
I also have dreams about my sister and my parents yelling at me for not washing up right or gif but doing things right… is it true we accept the love we think we deserve? Because looking back I can’t believe how cruel so many people were to me and I think I came to gravitate to people who were mean to me as I saw it as love????
*I went to this school for a decade! The junior school I was a successful athlete and head boy and everything was so easy when I was a success. Then the beginning of high school I was injured and so couldn’t be success at sport and EVERYTHING changed. I was a sport scholar and couldn’t do the sport it was like everyone lost respect for me… saw me as weak. Ironically I’m pretty sure some of the mean friends in high school are gay but they never came out. Bullying me maybe was a power play to make them seem strong???

I have been locked out of my Facebook account for 13 days now. I emailed the disabledfacebook email twice and still haven't heard anything, and every time I try to log back in it keeps bringing me to the same page to confirm my identity by confirming my phone number. However all of the phone numbers are old and I can't access them, and no matter what I do it keeps bringing me to that same page. What do I do ?! Please help
