I've been casually teaching guitar lessons for a while now, mostly to friends of friends and the children of friends, but have been wanting to get more into it.
I called a local instrument store (guitars, pianos, etc.) to ask if I could put a flyer up in their window advertising my services and the owner asked if I could come in as they offer music lessons there and are in bad need of a guitar teacher, so I agreed.
I've never taught "formally" like this before and would like some advice on how to really impress the owner during my interview (it's not officially an interview but I'm treating it as such as doing it through the store would help a lot).
Anyone done anything like this and have any advice? I don't want to oversell myself having only done this somewhat casually but I would also really like to make the most of this opportunity. Thanks!

Compared to some/most years, this year it has actually snowed very little. WHY does Iowa City/Coralville have the “we don’t start the plows until the last flake falls” rule? Surely we cannot be over budget with only one other snow event? I didn’t see brine trucks before, and didn’t even see sand put out. Just a slushy, mushy, greasy mess from morning commute yesterday all day until it stopped around 9.
Any road with a hill had a wreck on it during yesterday’s afternoon commute. I saw 3 multi car incidents on Mormon trek and Melrose and I’m sure there were more. The Coralville strip was a mess. “Between town” streets like camp cardinal and north 12th ave and oakdale had folks careening off into the ditches on hills and curves. Cars were gathering in the low spot between Scottsdale and Central School on 6th in Coralville as now precipitation had been removed and no mitigation products added.
Why were both IC and Coralville so horribly stingy with their snow/ice mitigation products and plow drivers? Sure on a sunday I get it, but this is a weekday with most folks going to work or school. Am I missing something? I’ve lived here 10+ years and yesterday was the biggest 👎🏻 I have ever seen for winter road maintenance.

P - Daredevil Impulse Style: At maximum stacks, Samira can cast Inferno Trigger -> At maximum stacks, Samira can cast Inferno Trigger and gains 5% - 35% life steal based on level, up to 10% - 40% total life steal.
Reasoning Samira's biggest problem which prevents her from being viable is that her builds don't allow for life steal, which is part of her core kit and identity, until very late in the game. This can be solved by having her gain the stat when she reaches S rank, capping it to a fixed amount so that if she were to build life steal items their value would be greatly diminished to prevent her R from healing for unreasonable amounts.
This method also allows granular control over how early in the game she gains the lifesteal and how much she can have lategame, meaning her power level can be precisely tuned to prevent her from being OP: Samira does in fact tend to be either too powerful or too weak in the meta due to the nature of her kit, which doesn't allow for much tuning other than with damage numbers.

2025.01.23 13:10 no_arbitrage Strategy to sell stocks/bonds/MFs and buy ETFs?
I recently transferred all my non-registered investments from Edward Jones to Questrade as I am tired of paying the ridiculous fees and prefer to go with low-cost ETFs by myself.
Over the past 5 years, my holdings have included tens of individual stocks/bonds/mutual funds which I no longer want to hold. Considering the capital gain from a one-time sale would be huge for any year, I would appreciate it if anyone could share some trading strategies to sell those holdings and purchase ETFs?
PS: I have transferred my RRSP and TFSA accounts as well which should be much easier as there is no tax implication.

 | My sweet boy, Muffin, is incredibly skittish. He’s terrified of loud noises. At even the slightest sound, he flinches or runs to hide under the bed. Muffin is 6 years old now, and we adopted him at 3 months old in 2018. We found him at a pub where the owner told us his mom and siblings were tragically hit by a car, leaving Muffin as the only survivor. The pub staff had taken him in, and when we brought him home, he was surprisingly playful and didn’t seem particularly skittish as a kitten. When he was 3, I had to move to another continent for work, and of course, I took Muffin with me. Adjusting to the new environment was hard on him, and it broke my heart to see him struggle during that transition. I am not sure at what point he started being skittish but I had hoped that, by now, he’d feel more secure and less afraid. Now, I’m planning another move to a different continent for work, and I’m terrified of putting him through the same ordeal. Could that earlier move have traumatized him? hello. i’m just here to share my experience with ureaplasma/mycoplasma.
in march of 2023, i got my IUD. a few months later, i started having constant cramps, cloudy discharge, and an odor that i’ve never had before. and spotting in between periods. i got tested for STDs a few times thinking maybe my partner at the time had given me something, but everything kept coming back negative. everything except BV. so i kept getting treated for BV and my symptoms would subside for like a week then they’d be right back. my doctor kept telling me that there wasn’t anything wrong with me and i kept telling her that the discharge and odor was not normal. at all. she gave me a probiotic thinking maybe that would help, it did not. FINALLY, she decided to do a comprehensive STD panel and that’s when i got diagnosed with ureaplasma in August of 2023. she prescribed me with Azithromycin. i took those and felt better for about two weeks and then the symptoms came back. so then after that, i’ve been like every other month for testing and antibiotics because of how uncomfortable i was. and every time she’d prescribe me azithromycin or doxycycline. i even got my partner tested and went with him to explain to the doctor what to look for because some doctors act like it’s unheard of. so my partners tests came back negative 3x. so it hadn’t been passed to my partner the whole time we were together. and during our time together, there was a point for like 5 months where we didn’t have any sex. and i still had symptoms even after countless rounds of treatment. i have been tested and treated a total of 9 times in the last year and a half and my last test came back with not only ureaplasma but also mycoplasma. so now i have both…. still to this day, i haven’t been cured and im still extremely uncomfortable. my periods are even affected. i use boric acid daily to help with the discharge and odor. i have finally decided to see a new OB in hopes that she will be able to help me. the cramps are insane. the new OB did swab for STDs and also did a pap smear to see if i had any cancer cells or any other diagnoses. they also tested me for vaginosis. currently waiting for the results.
the odor is unimaginable. i feel so insecure and it’s taken a toll on my mental health. i’ve never been so out of tune with my body. and the test they do for ureaplasma isn’t covered by my insurance and is $1049. i haven’t been able to pay for the last three tests so i owe the lab $3000+ and now they are withholding my results until i can pay so now, i can’t get my results in order to get the antibiotics for temporary relief. i am so stressed and upset.
i have read hundreds of posts about other people’s experience with this and it has been comforting to know im not the only one who is/has experienced this. i don’t know if having an IUD has anything to do with this. i’m worried that my fertility will be affected… i don’t know where it came from because my partners in the last two years have all come back negative for this. i’m even taking probiotics in hopes that it’ll help. i can’t wait until the day im free of ureaplasma so i can feel like myself again and know my body.

Ive got Asus Vivobook 15(laptop), MX110 and i3-7020U there. That laptop is quite bad but after adding an SSD it performs much better. While playing Skyrim I noticed that my GPU reaches 85+° temperature! It drops down to 80 and quickly goes back to 85+ again. Is that okay? P.S: Idk how it works but some times the temperature only reaches 78° and no higher. Antiviruses as cureit and malwarebyte dont find anything.
