2025.01.23 14:27 OneLustfulCount Why does every movie about an alien invasion, apocalypse or natural destruction feature London as the last, invincible, bastion of humanity?
The first that comes to mind is the Walking Dead series. London is unaffected and remains as a functional capital of the state.
Then there are those movies about natural disasters. The whole world is affected but for some reason London is the last place shaken and is heavily focused upon by the producers.
Now I am watching the "Pixels" movie about the invasion of Aliens. I can tell that the whole planet is going through a hard time by seeing how Taj Mahal in India is destroyed. But, for some reason, there is a scene, with a happy music, showing London in all greenery - implying that if the whole world goes to shit, the city will be invincible and survive.
There are many more movies with this setting I've watched and have asked myself, same as I am asking you now - why is it so? What makes the city of London so special in the eyes of the producers?

I’ve tried all the various methods to get it connect, however it continuously fails. I’ve deposited money into my PayPal balance, and that didn’t work. Then I tried entering my routing and account number information, but it says I’ve reached the maximum amount of paypal accounts I can add to that bank account. This is false, as I’ve only had one paypal account added to that checking account (the old one I closed yesterday). I’m wondering if the solution is to just wait until PayPal can verify certain things? What are your thoughts?
