I’ve been teaching an older woman for about a year, once a week, and she came from total fear of the water to now being able to swim 25 yards unassisted with alternate side breathing (usually does 2 laps at the end of our sessions). She’s got a pear-shaped body and carries quite a bit of weight in her midsection, and I don’t think she’s ever done much in the way of organized weight training, so helping her to swim and develop muscles essential to swimming (like abs) has been part of our work together.
One thing is perplexing to me. When she takes her breath to the side with the alternate arm out in front of her, she isn’t able to keep that arm close to the surface of the water, and it slips down, essentially making her begin her alternate arm stroke, and it makes it harder for her to get a proper breath. She gets through it, but I know it would be easier for her to breathe if she had her arm stay at the surface. I do this naturally and it doesn’t feel like something I can “teach” per se. She says it’s just really hard to hold her arm there so it naturally just slips down. Should I just encourage her to do some arm exercises to strengthen her arms? Or are there any other suggestions out there? She does a lot of catchup drill with a kick board and other similar drills. We did try using paddles once but they were much too big for her hands (she’s petite) so I may try to find some better paddles for her hand size and see if that helps.

I am 38 days sober (wooo 🥳) but my reasoning for doing so is I ended up lashing out at my friends on multiple occasions after having alcohol (ranging from like 2-3 and I’m a bit tipsy to being drunk), the most recent time being the worse.
I am unsure how much they attribute drinking to what happened/the issues that were raised post lashing out, but it certainly was the only reoccurring link between the times it has happened and there was mention of being worried whenever we all went out ‘as they’d be on edge whether I’d lash out or not’. The most recent time I made some comments that they took really personally, and when one of my friends approached me to try calm me down I ended up pushing them away.
I am a woman in my 20s, and I certainly felt that my issues with alcohol was will my lack of control rather than dependency. I have not properly spoken to my friends since this happened and I don’t know whether they want to repair the friendships after this, but I want to give it a good go. Any advice?

Hi fellow cfa aspirants.
I have just start-ed/ing my CFA journey. At first I was gonna attempt the aug attempt but by then I had passed the scholarship window and wanted to give a shot at luck. So i was realigning for nov attempt. But I saw the news that 2026 level 1 is priced lower. And now I am thinking if waiting 3 months can save me 17-18k, why not?
But it also creates a bit of panic. I am not at a good place rn in my career. Already 24, still nowhere in life and time feels like running out. CFA was my hope to crack into core finance and get a better job.
The more it keeps getting delayed the more i feel like I am loosing this hypothetical race which exists inside my brain ( and rather realistically in society too?)
Regarding scholarship, for nov 25 window opens in feb-march & for Feb 26 it opens in April. Now from what i understand - CFAI doesn't really announce it until much later. So can't I apply in both windows?......I am sorry if that's a stupid question guys. But like CAN I?
I have heard that rather than the essay it's more like a lottery system. Would be nice to have a go at luck twice no?🥲

2025.01.23 14:45 throwRAanxious93 My LLC won’t dissolve?
I opened an LLC from Legal Zoom like 2 years ago. I never did ANYTHING with it, never attached the number to any tax documents nothing. I paid like $500 to legal zoom last May to dissolve it and do any of the necessary paperwork to dissolve it. However I noticed it never dissolved. I emailed legal zoom last week and they said due to inactivity with the dissolution it expired and they have to redo it. I provided screenshots showing the receipts that I paid to dissolve it on the phone with one of their agents. They apologized and said I won’t have to pay again and that they’re working on dissolving it. They said to give them 72 business hours and someone will contact me.
It’s now been a full week and I never received anything and it looks like the LLC is STILL up and running.
What the heck is going on??? Why won’t my LLC dissolve? I don’t want to keep getting mail for it I never ever used it and I don’t want to end up paying any renewal fee when I’ve been begging them to close it out. I’ve heard I could just do it myself, but seeing as they apparently are in the process of doing it idk if me also doing it will affect anything. But I’m getting extremely annoyed with them and I will never use legal zoom ever again.

Hey redditors. I really don't know what to do and have no one to say this to.
I live in a economically not-so-ok country. I'm in uni and i have a bf of almost 2 months. My family doesn't know about him since it's still too early. I love him dearly but it's still hard to know him truly as it's not been even 2 months yet.
My dad works at a factory and he is very cloce with his boss. His boss has a son same age as me (I'm a girl). You probably know where this is going.
Today i was sitting watching tv with my mom and grandma. I was looking at my phone whilst listening to my mom and grandma's convo. My mom said smt like "i said to him (my dad) why not make her (me) meet with his son?" And i didn't say anything. Later today, my dad came from work and started talking about him. He didn't say it directly to me but i knew what was happening.
Now, as i said, i love my bf but i also know not to be blinded by it. I don't think i can leave him but i also don't know if i know him well. Also there is a possibility that the boss's son will not be interested in me. I know he is not a bad person as i've heard about him from my dad for years (from when i was a little child).
What do i do? Will i be regretful? What would you do?
Since it's still my first year in uni, i will obviously not be married for at least 3 years (until i graduate) and I don't plan on marrying right after uni as well.
I have 3 years ahead of me but i know my mom will not give up on this idea. This sounds so fake but it isn't 😭 I'm scared of my mom's reaction if i say i have a bf. Please help 🙏🏻😭
