Hi everyone,
I am in 3 merit pools, aps 2 and 3 in ato and aps 3 for services Australia, and I have applied for the Sydney metropolitan area (CBD, Parramatta, Penrith). For services Australia I was placed in a merit pool in November while for ato I only recently got merit pooled for both jobs (December). I really want to work in the APS, and I am hoping to receive a job offer, but then I think about how many people may be in the merit pool and if enough vacancies even end up opening in my desired locations for me to even have a chance to get offered a job. Also, the fact that there are probably so many people in the pool who would be better suited for the job/have better qualifications/more experience. ( I am only 19 with minimal job experience). Is there any hope for me?

 | I emigrated to Canada when I was 25 and had never really cooked before. I slipped on ice early 06 and spent a few months on the couch and would watch FoodTV to pass the time (it was that or days of our lives 😂). Watching Ina, Jamie, Nigella, and countless others gave me confidence to cook and I started buying a few books here and there. Fast forward 20 years they’ve overtaken the house (&~200 on iPad), and I haven’t even mentioned the dishes and equipment as I got into food photography & styling. My favourites are on the middle eastern shelf in the top right hand corner, and the baking ones. I’m currently cooking through Comfort by Ottolenghi and LOVING it. 2025.01.23 14:37 BriBrii Gas oven - wouldnt preheat and smelled gas? Is it a gas leak?
Hey everyone, I tried Googling this but got a lot of conflicting answers. We've been experiencing record colds in Jacksonville Florida, and I'm not sure if that could impact my oven at all. My landlords are out of state. The stupid Google AI says to leave the house immediately and call for emergency help. If that's what I need to do I will do it, but I don't trust the AI and all the results are sponsored ads.
I get a momentary smell of gas when I first turn the oven on to preheat, but that goes away, nothing abnormal.
However, I turned on my oven on preheat about 45 minutes ago and went back to my work. I tunnel visioned on my job but I realized that the oven preheat timer never sounded, and I still smelled gas.
Oven indicated that it was 415° F inside but I opened the oven and all I could smell was gas, and it was warm but cold to the point where I could put my hands on the inside of the oven.
Everything in my apartment runs on gas including my oven. Per Google it's the Whirlpool 30-in 4 Burners 5.1-cu ft Freestanding Natural Gas Range. Never had any issues with it and I might use the oven for five times a week for about an hour at a time..
Should I just not use the oven until this gets diagnosed or completely evacuate the premises, turn off my gas line and call emergency like Google is suggesting?
