I've been looking at getting a set of wp binos and Rix RNV 31 seems to be a good set to start with because of all of the features the device has. Am I wrong? Is there a better option in the 4-5k range for white phosphor binos. I'm asking first instead of a "How'd I do guys" post.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been living in Australia for over a year now, and I keep hearing fellow NRIs say, “We’re just here to save some money and eventually move back to India.”
But honestly, with the cost of living being so high, I find it super challenging to save. Every time I feel like I’m getting somewhere with my savings, an unexpected expense pops up and wipes it all out.
Has anyone actually managed to save enough and successfully move back to India? If yes, how did you do it?
Would love to hear from other Australian NRIs who’ve navigated (or are still navigating) this situation!

Hi askhistorians.
One of the more "popular" (according to Goodreads) Marx quotes is the following line "The oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class are to represent and repress them". If one goes to look for where Marx wrote this, you end up looking at Lenin's 'State and Revolution (1917)', part 2, 'The Transition from Capitalism to Communism', where he writes "Marx grasped this essence of capitalist democracy splendidly when, in analyzing the experience of the Commune, he said that the oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class shall represent and repress them in parliament!"
Lenin doesn't offer a citation for this quote, as far as I can find, which then means tracking down this Marx quote is a dead end. I looked in "The Civil war in France" by Marx, which Lenin alludes to, but couldn't find any semblance of the above quote in the text. So this is where I am hoping some of you might know where and when Marx said this, or if he actually said it at all. It would certainly clear up a few things, as looking for this quote online generally yields a mix of attributions where both Marx and Lenin are said to have written this line.

Ich habe mal eine Frage zu Zahnzusatzversicherungen. Seit drei Tagen tut mir ein Zahn ziemlich weh, so Doll das ich denke es könnte eine Wurzelbehandlung notwendig sein. Diagnose ist noch nicht gestellt aber ich haben einen Termin in 3 Wochen.
Ich habe mich jetzt mal nach Zahnzusatzversicherungen umgeschaut und die Gothaer MediZ Smile 85 würde mich nur 10,95 im Monat kosten obwohl sie sogar 170€ Zahnreinigung pro Jahr übernehmen.
Meine Frage jetzt, wäre mein Problem Zahn mit versichert? Also es gibt noch keine begonnen oder angeraten Behandlungen, aber ich bin mir sicher das was gemacht werden muss, wenn auch nur eine Füllung.

2025.01.23 14:38 drsrwise Incomprehensible furnace wiring making it difficult to DIY install smart thermostat C wire
 | I know there are a million smart thermostat install posts but I haven't managed to figure this out after days of research. So I'm trying to install a nest thermostat and I have an oil furnace. It has only T1 and T2 wires coming off of the primary control, but then there is also a 24 volt transformer with R and C, but they also lead off into some other electrical things (sorry I don't know enough about electrical wiring) before exiting the furnace and traveling all throughout my open basement ceiling. I did find where the thermostat wiring comes down from the thermostat and I found the blue wire I would like to use as my C wire, but I have no idea why there are three different bundles of wires arriving and splicing into that. I'd really just like to figure out which wire comes directly from the transformer C terminal so that I can attach it to that blue wire, but I really just can't figure out which wire is supposed to be what anymore. The blue wire was previously attached in the thermostat as the Y wire but I don't have a cooling system so that seems pointless. Is there any way to do this through these or other pictures? These pictures look to me like they should be in HVAC sh!tposting or something. Alternatively, although I don't want to have wires running up the outside of my wall to the thermostat and I have this interior wire already, I don't mind buying a plug-in C wire adapter, but I wouldn't even know what to do with that. One of the two wires would go to the blue C wire, but what about the other one? I already have power from my furnace on the R wire so what does the other wire hook to from the plug-in version? Sorry for a long post but I feel like I've done a ton of research and still haven't figured it out.
