I just came from an appointment at 30 + 4. I am rotating through doctors and midwives as my baby will be delivered by whoever happens to be on call during my delivery. A midwife that I hadn’t seen before took a bit to find a heartbeat for my daughter. This comes after the 41 week stillbirth of my son 3 years ago due to no reason that doctors could find. I got a bit tearful and the conversation turned to me needing therapy and to be sure to listen to my “ mom intuition “ and get additional checks if I felt like something was wrong. I think she meant well but she kept saying she completely understood and all I kept hearing was insensitive b.s. I guess my mom intuition wasn’t working when my son died?! I think everyone on planet earth could benefit from therapy and I had my share after my son passed. I think my reaction was justified given that she really didn’t say much while she was searching.
I have to see this woman again at a follow up and I really want to be able to get through it without leaving feeling upset. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Also I realize my reaction could be completely coming from a hormonal place as well. Alternative perspectives are welcome.

Hey Reddit.
Writing here with the hope to meet new people and see where it goes. Hopefully looking for 'the one', but happy to explore the journey on the way.
As the title gives away, I'm a 32 year old male, originally from Manchester, but now living in Hertfordshire for work.
I work full time as a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer. A career I wanted to be in since high school, and have been in for the last ≈13 years. I get a fair bit of time shifted off during the summer, so a great time to use my staff discount and travel. I'm also currently in the process of studying, to be able to apply for a promotion.
Im a bit of an extroverted-introvert, who enjoys the usual things introverts do; Reading, Binging T.V & Gaming (PC & Switch). Country walks, walks around bodies of water & quiet pubs are my thing too. I'm quiet at first, but when comfortable, that's when the extrovert part of me comes out.
Little bit nerdy thrown into the mix too, with a thing for Space, Space Travel & Aviation. Current goal is to get to the Kennedy space centre or Starbase to witness a launch in person.
Music taste is quite eclectic, but I frequent the rock/metal end of the spectrum. Sci-fi films are my go to, with my all-time favourite being Interstellar.
Physically, I'm 5'8, dark hair, blue eyes and light skinned. Would describe my physique as 'dad bod'. Some muscles, but not defined/toned.

I encountered a post today advertising an MSP System Administrator role requiring “a few years of MSP experience” in workstations, servers, Office365 and the pay was $50k.
This is in a large metro city where surveys state the annual salary for an individual to live comfortably is $78k.
Like is this for real? In my opinion a Sys Admin job is a skilled job - requiring education and experience - and the prevailing wage still requires you to have a roommate to get by?
Is this the norm? I just don’t understand a day and age where plumbers are making six-figures consistently why knowledge workers in technical fields are only commanding half that?

hi guys. jsyk english isn’t my first language so i’m sorry if i make some mistakes or if you don’t understand it the best :) so basically i just bought a Hisense smart tv and i wanted to watch a movie on a website called lookmovie2 and cast it on my tv (you know how there’s one button that you click on the down right corner for casting). anyone who’s done this knows how easy it is. my friend who has a smart tv does this all the time and i did it at my grandma’s. however with my tv it doesn’t work bc my laptop doesn’t register it’s existence at all and neither does my phone. i connected them to the same network (i share my hotspot to my tv and laptop) and bluetooth is turned on on both my tv and laptop. i even installed a third party app for screen mirroring on my laptop but not even that app can find my smart tv (it just says no devices found). it’s like my tv doesn’t exist anywhere at all. the only thing that works is airplay. i can screen mirror my iphone to my tv but even then when i go to some website to watch a movie as soon as i turn my phone around so i can see the full picture it loads the screen on tv and suddenly the subtitles aren’t working. i already made a post on smarthome and somebody told me the problem might be my hotspot and to come here. i genuinely don’t understand what’s the problem. i didn’t have this problem at my friends nor at my grandmas. i’m getting so annoyed tbh. can someone help please?

2025.01.23 16:54 GadgetBug Things to look for in the A2 expansion
Very few cards revealed so far, but there are some things we can expect so I'll be listing them here while giving some ideas of decks with the already showned cards.
- Dialga ex: it accelerates Metal energy to any pokemon on your bench. Great for Melmetal (obviously). But it works great to power up things like Mew ex, Tauros and potentially other pokemon from the new set. It also can power up a fully HP Dialga on your bench.
- Palkia ex: great to atk early with it, and use as a finisher. It pairs really well with Vaporeon and you have room to add other lines that will suit the next meta, either a point pokemon like Lumineon for more aggression to passive decks or Greninja for a similar purpose, with more flexibility in gameplay but with less room for trainers which we might get more cool things we can use.
- Lucario: very simply but really strong ability. And it will be included in nearly every fightning deck.
- Pachirisu ex: basic ex that does very good dmg for 2 energy, sounds familiar... Exp. Share tool card would make it broken, as you can atk with smth like Zeb without risking giving points and use Pachi once zeb gets KO'd while you don't need energy on pachi and can power up smth like Raichu
- Leafeon: Crazy atk but low HP, it could be funny to use with Weezing/Koga or Mew ex and Budding to go around the 'can't atk next turn" restriction.
- Hounchcrow is great with Weezing, Weezing puts dmg and doesn't need to rely on crap 4 card combos to do 120 dmg, as you can use Hounchcrow without Weezing. Ideally this deck would need a big Darkness basic pokemon... **Darkrai luring in the shadows**
- Cynthia is scary but that will depend so much on the quality of Togekiss and Garchomp evo lines. Stage 2 that can KO things with the help of a supporter? Zard ex does that without the support, so those have to be a lot better than Zard or at least more consistent.
Now other things to look forward:
- Electivire: we have Surge that works with electabuzz, you simply evolve it.
- Magnezone: we have magneton that can build energy, so this guy probably needs a lot of energy.
- Cynthia can also mean that there will be support for stage 2s. Maybe not smth like Rary Candy or Ball items to search for the pieces but instead smth like TM evolution, a tool card that gives the pokemon a 1 energy atk that evolves 2 of your benched pokemon (in the TCG), also the tool is discarded at the end of the turn.
The set contains 140+ cards which puts on pair with Mythical Island average cards per pack. So I'm expecting the 5 ex per pack, 10 2* cards and 6-7 1* cards. At least 2 Immersives. Maybe 2 Crowns or a new rarity. From the 10 exs we know 3 and the 3 starters are very likely to have exs, so for the other 4, I would hope for a Darkness ex (Darkrai, Weavile, Toxicroak, Drapion, etc). Plenty of evos from other gens could get one, and gen4 also has a lot of legendaries, so very tough to predict, even more when they include Pachirisu ex. Also decent chance we don't get the whole gen 4 dex, as they can save for a potential part 2.

 | Coconut Curry Lentil Soup Serves 6 2 T good quality olive oil 1 onion, diced 4 garlic cloves, finely minced 1 Tablespoon fresh ginger, finely minced 1 1/2 T curry powder 1 cinnamon stick, or 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 3 cups sweet potatoes, peeled & cubed 1 1/2 cups green lentils 4 cups vegetable broth 1 can coconut milk (I used light) 4 cups kale, ribs removed & torn into bite sized pieces 1/2 lemon, juiced Salt and pepper Sauté onion in oil in a heavy bottom pot over medium heat until translucent. Add garlic, ginger, curry powder, cinnamon & sauté for a minute or two until fragrant. Add sweet potatoes, lentils, vegetable broth, coconut milk and mix well. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium low and simmer for 25-30 minutes until lentils are tender, stirring occasionally. If it seems too thick for your liking, add an additional 1/2-1 cup broth.
