From the Indo-Greek Period up till the partition, is there any book(s) that covers it all about Punjab?
Would also love recommendations on specific areas of Punjab's history like sufism, the Mughal rule, the British Era, the Sikh Empire, history of different Punjabi clans, folklore and my beloved (not anymore) city of Lahore etc.
One more thing that I would like to mention is that I'm new to the history of Punjab. So, I will prefer books that are beginner friendly.

Hi Bogleheads, My partner and I are long time readers and followers of the Boglehead investment strategy. Recently, she became the POA for her father's finances and we could use your opinion. For context, he is in his 70s and recently moved in assisted living since he is a terminal cancer patient and his doctor got him off of chemo after it stopped being effective. He has two main accounts. One of then is in cash which, given his current monthly expenses, would be sufficient to cover all his expenses for more than a year. The other one is invested with a brokerage company. Looking at the statements, he is invested in a lot of mutual funds (16 of them !) and they all have a high expense ratio (ranging from 0.35 for the lowest and up to 1.25% for the highest!).
His current investments with the brokerage company are distributed like this: - cash: 23% - DRGVX: 6% - DQIRX: 5% - MAEGX: 5% - ABNFX: 3% - DHLTX: 3% - IYGIX: 5% - SEEGX: 5% - MNHAX: 2% - NFFFX: 3% - OBSOX: 3% - QGIAX: 5% - PISIX: 8% - PEIYX: 6% - PYTRX: 5% - TIHBX: 4% - VIMCX: 3%
We are considering closing this account to open one at Vanguard with a more reasonable distribution but are not sure of how to: 1- proceed in the smartest way to reduce the taxes implications and 2- what mutual funds/bonds to put him in.

Hi everyone,
When I turned on my PS5 today, I noticed that I was logged out of all my connected apps (like Discord, YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, etc.). My PSN account was still logged in, but I had to re-enter my login details for the apps.
Has anyone experienced this before? Could it be related to a system update or some kind of account security issue? My internet connection is fine, and everything else seems to be working normally.
Any advice or insights would be appreciated!

2025.01.23 17:36 Infamous_Spell_7806 My 4 year old won’t stop swearing.
What to do about a 4 year old child shouting “fucking dickhead” and “fuck sake” several times a day/whenever he doesn’t get his own way. Sometimes in public and around family and friends. I’m utterly mortified. He has older step siblings who clearly use vile language around him when he’s there (I’m dealing with it) 🤷🏼♀️ I’m so so upset. I try so hard to teach him how to behave well. This is a child who can shout so loudly he often triggers the ‘loud environment’ notification on my Apple Watch when he’s kicking off 🥲 Struggled with many phases with this little boy but this one is realllllyyyy testing, help!
So far I’ve tried speaking calmly and explaining that these aren’t nice words - he shouts them louder as he’s clearly having the effect that’s intended. I’ve also tried to completely ignore it, but still it continues.

Hi all - here are my cat's stats:
- Species: DSH
- Age: 16.7
- Sex/Neuter status: F/Yes
- Breed: DSH
- Body weight: 6.4 lb
- History: Health problems started in 2022 - mainly vomiting on and off with an acute episode of vomiting and pain. Took to emergency vet with a diagnosis of pancreatitis and Stage 2 CKD. In her Xray, they found a mediastinal mass but did not recommend treatment. Said to watch for quality of life. Sent home with Cerenia and prescription for Kidney diets. Follow up with vet for fluids. Nursed very sick cat through this hump for months and with subQ fluids. Didn't think she'd get better, but she did - labs improved and she no longer needed fluids. She's had an amazing few years.
- Clinical signs: This week, she looked like she was having another pancreatitis attack. Gave cerenia and pepcid and took to vet next morning. Xray shows the mediastinal mass has grown a lot. Vet recommended continuing treatment with cerenia and pepcid. Currently 4 days on Cerenia she is eating and drinking again, but is weaker and lethargic.
