Hi. As noted in the description, I received a refund from my lawyer that is greater than the amount I paid in 2024. The refund, $1k, is related to 2023 but I received it in 2024. I paid my lawyers $800 this year. Do I need to send a 1099 out for $800 payments made in 2024? Any help you can provide is appreciated!

Ich habe mir viele Gedanken über den Gruß von Musk gemacht und es ist ein H-Gruß ohne wenn und aber. Gleichzeitig kam mir der Gedanke, dass er das aus Absicht getan hat, da er weiß, dass die Leute und Medien sich jetzt daran abarbeiten. Anstatt der Executive Orders die eigentlich viel mehr Aufmerksamkeit benötigen. Ja, der Gruß ist schlimm und sollte weiterhin verboten sein, jedoch war das bei Musk vorher schon bekannt und auch bei Zuckerberg. Aus meiner Sicht sollte man mehr in den Medien über „wichtigere“ Sachen sprechen. Interessiert mich was ihr denkt.

另一个分歧就是，英国国王又是church的head，美国要独立，就必须否认自己是一个基督教国家，否则就是叛乱了。所以独立宣言认为政府的合法性来源于we the people而不是god given, 英国王室的合法性就是god 给予的。中国人看林肯的“of the people, by the people, for the people”想的是否认皇权，但是在西方，这句话也是否认神权。美国不是一个宗教国家，founding fathers 费了牛鼻子力气用first amendment 确认了美国政教分离。
但是Christian nationalists 一直要把美国变成一个基督教神权国家，哪怕因此有一个king也在所不惜。 理解了这点才能理解为什么这帮人对川普明显的独裁倾向根本无所谓，他们就是在选King。实现神权目标。

Quero investir apenas em renda fixa, principalmente em algo como 100% do CDI, para evitar estresse e complicações. Porém, pensando a longo prazo, fico com dúvida sobre como viver desses investimentos.
Se eu retirar todo o rendimento mensal, meu montante perderia valor ao longo do tempo, certo? Diferente dos FIIs, que aparentemente distribuem rendimentos sem prejudicar o valor principal, além de acompanhar melhor a inflação.
Pensei em retirar só 1/3 do rendimento mensal da renda fixa, mas aí estaria usando algo como 66% do CDI para viver. Isso parece ser menor do que os dividendos que FIIs pagam, que ainda têm a vantagem de serem isentos de IR, mas têm o risco de serem renda variável.
O problema é que não sei muito sobre FIIs ou ações, e também não tenho muito tempo para acompanhar o mercado. É possível que renda fixa sozinha seja suficiente para viver de investimentos no longo prazo? Ou estou deixando escapar algum ponto importante?

I recently saw some prints from a friend's Bambu labs x1 carbon multicolor and I was floored. Awesome quality and very cool multicolor. I was kind of hooked till I saw the controversy about what the company is or could do with the software to lock down the printer. I don't sell prints, no print farm here. I just like to print stuff. I like the automatic filiment changer. The question I have is for my use case, should I buy this or not. I don't completely understand what Bambu has done or could do so not sure how to assess the risks the the future usability of this machine.
