So, sent in my s23 in the original box, made videos and pics, and received after 8!! weeks an email telling me the phone didnt turn on/screen not functioning. Immediately got on a chat. told them. was promised a quick reaction. 48 hrs later nothing.
So I called in. Sugar sweet, explained my situation. They try to blame me for not having the phone charged fully when shipping in (is that even a thing?) I made her aware that up tp my best knowledge the phone was fully charged but 8 weeks later that is not really something I can guarantee but since i have a million photos and video I can send it to them. But pointing out that that wasn't written in the return information.
The lady tried to push once more, I offered her several mb videos and pics to check and while on the phone I get a email that all is resolved and I wont be charged
I hate games. last time this will happen.

hello hello - changing up the posting style to perhaps draw in more responses, maybe it'll work? maybe not? either way, season 7 of Diablo IV just launched so it's big chillin' for moi
i'm a 30 year old male born and raised in the UK - been around these parts for a long time (not counting my account age) and met some of the most wonderful people, including my fiancé of three years - currently in the process of uprooting my life, getting the proper documents and moving to the US :)
for the time being, I have a lot of down time - as you can imagine with being in a long distance relationship, I spend a fair amount of time by myself when my partner is working, hence why I am posting here and to other subreddits. i'm mostly free in the evenings after I finish work and during the mornings on weekends.

Has anyone ever asked for an ID request of a snake they were handling, that was highly venomous or a snake with medically significant venom?
I’m always wondering because several times people have posted snakes that look like a Kingsnake to me and I’m like “wow I wanna touch that little cute snake!” (I’m Californian, and know nothing, but I’m incredibly captivated) and it turns out to be something gnarly, like a krait lol.

2025.01.23 19:50 Large-Eye5088 Breaking into a tight knit group: Manager with paid 'volunteer' staff
I've been in non-profit for 20+ years in leadership, management and individual contributor roles. I joined a small nonprofit, as the 5th staff member, as a program manager. I'm responsible for (3) staff who are funded by a gov't grant ($16k/year, FT work, 1 year term) who are 22-26 yr old post-grads. We're fully remote. The current group ends in May and we'll 'hire' another 3 in June.
As far as output and outcomes, they're amazing at what they do. They've added great capacity to the organization that was once just the CEO/founder, volunteers and few Bd members. One staff member was put on a PIP and never responded to it so their tasks were moved to someone else while they focused on what they were good at, another has a 2nd job, and the other assumed a lot of tasks and says their happy with their workload. I've met with each one to onboard with their area of work. I'm working to understand the workflow and how each fit into the mission.
On week 3 I've finally realized how tight knit they are and the culture includes almost communication via email and/or chat except for when the CEO sends things out. There's no chance to get to know anyone, as a co-worker. Everything I know about them is from the CEO.
I am cognizant of how I approach each one and the CEO has helped me understand about their work and progress. The CEO admits to having been lenient (their words) versus a typical employee which is why the Bd encouraged the hiring of a PM, and so they could focus on fundraising. I make sure I ask how they're doing before or referencing something from a meeting to see how things are going before I make an ask or assign a task. I'm not fake in my intent. I do care/am interested. I want to forge some type of friendly engagement so I don't feel like an outsider.
Positive: The CEO isn't fast tracking my orienting, which is refreshing for my industry. Nothing is on fire. My boss and I get along well. She's appreciative of my joining the team.
Questions:
- Do I just take it for what it is, temper my expectations? I'm uncomfortable and it feels like we're leaning into what they want (they're 7-mos in their role) vs what I need (a new permanent employee).
- Is the CEO responsible for breaking the tight knit culture? I think they prepared them for my arrival, but not how to welcome me into the group? Does that need to be taught?
- Do I suggest we co-lead for the next 4 months while I learn and prepare for the next cohort who I'll have to orient, train, and manage for the next year?
