I read a similar post about the pharmacy profession and wanted to know if podiatry would be a good profession to get into.
I have heard that entry pay is not the best, but it’s understandable since it’s entry. How much can someone with years of experience under their belt be expected to earn a year? I have heard around 120k might be a cap. Moreover a few more questions.
- Is the only way to earn good money to start your own practice? How affordable it that to do?
- how is the locuming scene. Is it easy to locum as a podiatrist? Is there a market for it?
- how is the career growth etc.
- how is the working life? Is it bearable or do people quit because it’s exhausting?

The enemy team was getting pretty frustrated and upset, because they had a team mate go AFK second round. They were pretty chatty about the situation. Lavoro da 20 anni tondi tondi per la stessa azienda a conduzione familiare nata nel 1999 (3 della famiglia, 2 dipendenti). Stipendio commercio, da lunedì a venerdì, mattina e pomeriggio con due ore di pausa pranzo a 10 km da casa. Tre figli, due già fuori di casa per studio (non gravano molto sul bilancio), una piccola di 4 anni. Casa di proprietà senza mutuo, in casa altro stipendio da impiegata e altre piccole entrate extra (io circa 3000€ da attività sportiva). Alla fine i soldi ci avanzano. Qualche anno fa ho fatto un concorso da spazzino presso una ditta pubblica a partecipazione privata (grandi drammi al lavoro quando glielo ho detto). Essendo in graduatoria ma non così in alto da essere assunto chiamavano sotto le feste per lavorare qualche mese a tempo determinato, ovviamente sempre rifiutato. Oggi mi chiamano per l'assunzione a tempo indeterminato.
Per farla breve per 100/120€ al mese in meno (sempre 14 mensilità) lascerei un lavoro lunedì/venerdì 8:30-13:00/15:00-18:30 per un lunedì sabato con turno 6-12:20 oppure 12:30-18:50. Circa 12 km da casa, azienda al 60% pubblica. Mia moglie lavora lunedì venerdì 9/15 o 15/21. Genitori over 80 a 5 km ancora indipendenti (ho io la 104 per mamma), fratello che abita sotto loro lavorante anche lui su turni più o meno continui.
Voi la fareste questa decrescita? Barattereste i soldi (almeno nell'immediato) e il sabato mattina in cambio della mezza giornata libera con tempo per stare in famiglia e presumibilmente maggiore stabilità? (È quello che dissi al colloquio quando mi chiesero perché volevo lavorare lì e l'esaminatore rimase sorpreso)

I'm working with some other men in my church to start a TL troop. Some of us have boys too young to start the program (2-3 yrs) while others are empty-nesters. I know there is a contingent of boys in the church that we can recruit, and we're connecting with fathers to discuss it, but I'd like to plan some "teaser" events that can generate some interest between now and the fall (when we'd like to kick off the formal troop).
Unfortunately, my only thought is a camping trip. This is a great idea that we would like to plan for the summer but I'm at a loss for other ideas. At this point, we have paid the charter fee and are waiting for background checks, etc. so these things would ideally be a single event that includes the fathers/father-figures of the boys. I have a meeting with the (still unofficial) Troop Committee this weekend to discuss event plans.
Were there any informal/simple events that you hosted as you ramped up for a full troop? What about recruiting events for an existing troop that might translate well into this scenario?
