Tl;dr; nonfiction suggestions for gently turning my father (a white cishet man) more politically Left? Any format, he especially likes military histories
I'm a mixed-ethnicity multiply-disabled LGBT+ person, with a white (by USA standards) cishet literal-boomer father.
With the way politics here in the USA are going, I think I'm understandably concerned for my welfare. But my dad doesn't get it, and is defensive against challenges to his worldview. My (also brown and disabled) mother and I are concerned he doesn't see how the current administration is already actively trying to harm people like us.
Ideally nonfiction -- he's a fan of fictional radical stories like the musicals RENT and American Idiot, but doesn't seem to understand how they actually apply in real life; but he recently read the nonfiction Coming Out Under Fire (about being LGBT+ in the USA military) and seems to better understand real-life impact of anti-LGBT+ sentiment/legislature since then. (He especially likes military histories.)
Anything about activism for BIPOC, disabled, LGBT+, veteran, or otherwise oppressed communities, I'd be down to try. I'd hopefully be reading along with him so he has someone to talk with about it. Any format welcome -- graphic novel, plain text, audiobook, etc. TIA!

 | I loosened the part at the differential, I loosened the part at the disk brake, I tried putting another jack under the swing arm, and moving the steering completely left and completely right, but the driveshaft needs a cm or 2, it's completely lose I just can't get it to come out. Iam either missing something or its just impossible to do from a jackstand. Should I loosen the antiroll bar? As I am reflecting on Kant’s conceptual approach towards experience, I am seeking clarification due to its holistic nature. For Kant, he expressed this idea as not just something that occurs or happens within our simple receptive faculties — the senses (taste, touch, hearing, seeing) — but is something based on the intimate relationship of reason and simple receptive faculties.
For example, let’s say I am drinking a hot cup of coffee with no sugar or cream. As I begin to sip on it, I immediately taste the bitterness of that black liquid. However, just because I think (key term) I have tasted coffee does not, indeed, mean I have experienced coffee itself. In fact, it is the combination of my deductive logic which makes me realize the coffee I have tasted is, in fact, coffee.
With that in mind, could anyone explain and provide examples of this deductive logic I am referencing?
