It was icy and dark (maybe 9 or 10pm) no cars anywhere driving around the area as the conditions were pretty bad.
I was driving down a bit of a hill and started stopping for the stop sign but I wasn't stopping, absolutely zero friction. Just ice. As I was sliding though the intersection, who but a police officer started driving through the intersection. I missed the cop by only a few feet. The cop stopped hard just passed the intersection.
I knew I was in a lot of trouble. I waved and said sorry, and the police officer flicked on his lights for a second and drove away. I bought a lottery ticket afterwards but I didn't win.
TL;DR Ran a stop sign because of ice and a cop car happened to be driving through the intersection and I almost t-boned him. Could have been arrested but the cop drove away after I said sorry.

Hi all, I just built a new PC using the following parts
ryzen 5800 x
msi mag tomahawk b550 mb
rtx 4060ti
1tb 970 evo nvme
All the lights pop up on the motherboard, the GPU and ram stick with is a corsair rgb 16GB all light up, all the fans are moving.
When I boot, I see no display. I tried the flash bios button and it will just be red for a minute then attempts to boot the PC.
Any idea what it could be?

Silver 2016 6-speed manual transmission with 24k miles, no accidents, no major damage (some paint scratches around the bumper and wheel wells). We got it new and then two years later had a kid, and since then it has pretty much only been used a few times a month for quick errands.
We had a dealer send us an offer last year (probably a lost leader) for $20k. When I ran the Kelly Blue Book offer today, it said $10k. We're thinking about swapping it for a better family vehicle that would get more use, but still in the preliminary phases of thinking that through...

New build or upgrade? New build.
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? No existing parts, though I do have an Acer laptop (AN517-41-R66T) if any components can be transferred (but my understanding is they aren't usually compatible). I've just upgraded the ram to 16GB (8x2), DDR4 and would want a minimum of 32gb in the PC build. Also have a old LG W2252 monitor that I'd use if it's compatible as my 2nd screen until I'm ready to get a better one.
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Playing sims 4 with mods and cc - I have over 55GB of cc alone and all the DLC apart from the kits. I know Sims 4 doesn't require a top end build, but I fully intend to continue my CC collection and really want to reduce loading times and lag. I'm also intending to start creating my own cc within Sims4Studio Small amount of video editing (holiday pics and the like, nothing fancy) I usually have Sims 4 open at the same time as Chrome which I know is quite resource heavy.Other apps: Discord, WhatsApp etc I use Google Chrome for docs and spreadsheets for the most part, but also use LibreOffice sometimes. Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) Not sure as I'm really new to desktops and the only monitors I've used have been second-hand from work. I think I would want larger than 22", my eyesight is kinda bad so would think a larger screen without compromising on the resolution so that I can enlarge things is better.
Budget range? (Include tax considerations) Up to £1,000, lower if possible.
WiFi or wired connection? WiFi
Size/noise constraints? As little noise as possible but as much cooling as possible I guess, my gaming laptop sounds like an aeroplane so anything quieter is a win! Size - I have a small desk (100x60cm) preferably would have it on the desk as it's gonna be beautiful but can figure out a pedestal or something to display it on if needed 😂
Cololighting preferences? I'm between going for an all black or an all white build. Would be good to know if there's any consideration on which gets dirty/shows wear quicker. I know white tends to be more expensive/limited in what you can get? Definitely has to be RGB, the colours in my room are dark forest green, bamboo, dark oak, and white
Any other specific needs? Keyboard - anyone know of an ergonmic RGB keyboard??
I'd prefer to go with AMD rather than Intel - I personally just think it's better for what I want.
While this will be my first PC build, I want it to really work for me. I know a lot of things are personal preference but there is SO much to learn and I've only just got my head around upgrading my RAM. But I find this all really interesting so I'm also up for learning if there's any reason you'd pick x, y, or z part in particular 🙂

Well, one day into owning a triumph and I’m already having an issue when I bought the bike Brandon drove fine. Didn’t give me a single issue whatsoever. yesterday it rained a bit and I started it this morning. Let it warm up a bit and then I went to work, one block away the bike automatically which is idle, but if you add throttle, it would stall. I walked the bike home, tried starting it a couple times and it would start and then immediately die right after. Went to work came back home from registering the bike and doing some work and now bike will not start or anything. Any ideas?

I’m so confused and frustrated. I’m 7 weeks into this sciatica thing and I’m going crazy. I’ve had really good days where I could walk and move around fast just struggling with sitting down (pain in my left glute) and driving. then I get a cough attack while I’m sleeping and the next day I wake up In pain (glute pain again) and my 2 legs are numbed 😫 I feel like i won’t ever be able to cough and sneeze again in peace. Most of my pain now is on my lower back and top part of my left glute, I thought that’s what centralization was and I thought I was healing but now my 2 legs feel numbed and tingly, what’s going on? Also i still can’t bend down:( please help

I recently placed an order with this website because the clothes looked cute. Paid $148 for a dress and 5’3 130 lb me actually ordered a 2XL because of the sizing recommendations. It arrived several weeks later with these tacky buttons with Bs on them and didn’t come close to the measurements. It’s was way too small.
So immediately I contact them about a return. Don’t hear back in a few days so contact them again. Finally several days later I hear back from both. One wants a picture of the size label and the outfit to prove I didn’t wear it. The other wants my order number,… I’d already provided and order details. I called the phone number listed and it’s no good either.
Then the first one ghosts me. The second one emails back that I’d never placed an order with them! I emailed back saying that wasn’t true with screen shots of the order and that they had taken a payment from me. Then! I go back in to my account and they have wiped the order but fortunately I still have pictures. I’m reporting them to the BBB. Putting this here and disputing the charge.

Hi, I am stuck on a problem that seems very simple but I can't seem to fix and I don't have anyone more experienced! How frustrating!
I am writing some SV to calculate a rolling mean. The important registers are mean_o and x_count.
x_count is the number of samples being used to compute the mean. X_count starts at 1 and the mean of one sample is just that sample. The problem is that I am calculating the mean using the value for x_count that is one behind where it should be.
My testbench is sending in all 5's for the variable ith_x_hat_i. So for x_count = 1 the mean should be 5/1 For x_count =2, the mean should be (5+5)/2 For x_count =3, the mean should be (5+5+5)/3 and so on...
Instead I am getting For x_count =2, the mean is 5/2 For x_count =3, the mean is (5+5)/3 For x_count =4, the mean is (5+5+5)/4 and so on....

George L. Kennedy — the state's unelected auditor since 2015 — officially resigned his position Jan. 23, writing to Gov. Henry McMaster and the rest of the State Fiscal Accountability Authority he believed it was in the best interest of the office that he exits. "Please let me know how I can assist in the transition," Kennedy wrote in the letter. "I also welcome the opportunity to provide my thoughts on how the Office of the State Auditor can be strengthened in the future." Kennedy has been under scrutiny in recent weeks for his office's role in the handling of a $1.8 billion accounting error committed by the state Treasurer's Office. In a forensic audit conducted by consulting firm AlixPartners released last week, consultants repeatedly raised questions about the auditor's role in assessing conduct by the Treasurer's Office and the Office of the Comptroller General that could have helped them recognize several multi-billion-dollar accounting errors made by their offices. Part of it is structural. South Carolina, as AlixPartners noted in their report, is one of just two states that operates with a "joint audit" system, where the Office of the State Auditor conducts its audits using a private company, accounting giants CliftonLarsonAllen. But as the report revealed, Kennedy's office and CliftonLarsonAllen almost never spoke to one another, as evidenced by a pair of 2022 reports they generated that appeared to contradict each other. "The (auditor's office) expressed that this arrangement has not been consistently applied as intended," AlixPartners wrote in the report.
