I (29) haven't dated in a really long time and recently got on the dating apps for the first time. After a few days, I started talking to this one guy (31) who I normally wouldn't be into, but he was really personable and nice. We texted a bunch leading up to the first date, so we discussed many topics that you would have on that date.
It's been about a monthish and it feels like we've accelerated a bit (more on his end). We've had really good, in-depth and open conversations about slowing down, going at my pace, and being communicative with any concerns we have. Which, is something new for me because I haven't been in the healthiest relationships in the past. A couple times he has said he feels I'm "out of his league" but doesn't really put himself down; it's more of an intrusive thought/observation he has (that's how I feel at least).
He's been nothing but complimentary, a gentleman and will hear me out on most things. Our normal convos about different topics is also deeply engaging, so there isn't any substance that's missing, but I feel a bit skeptically optimistic. I do really like him and want to grow the relationship, but I feel that on an unconscious level, he may be trying to "prove" something to himself/someone (?) for one reason or another.
I don't believe he's doing it for evil reasons and I firmly believe his feelings and actions for me are genuine, but I'm unsure if I'm being stand-offish and paranoid due to my past traumas or if there's something to potentially bring up to him about my feelings about us continuing to date.
Neither of us are really talking to anyone else, either and are basically exclusive. Any advice is appreciated!

Story has a set of space explorers who visit various planets. One planet is technologically advanced where the denizens live in automated houses virtually alone and rarely go out to meet other denizens, although I think they would communicate via videotelephone, etc. Another world had natives who live in square dwellings and I believe they have a bigger version of their typical building where their god lives. The explorers experience that any newborn children have only one central eye and have a little hand growing out of each of their wrists at a right angle to the normal rest of their hands. The natives of their god explain that their god decided somehow to improve the design of the humans.

2025.01.24 01:41 Enygmatic_Gent Does anyone else bloat extremely after ingesting anything?
So this has been increasingly an issue in the past 3 years. Whenever I eat or drink anything (even plain water), no matter how small an amount, I bloat almost immediately. Like the I look eight months pregnant, kind of bloat. It’s extremely painful, and happens every single time I ingest anything. I currently don’t a gastroenterologist, I’ve been without one ever since I aged out of my pediatric gastroenterologist, which was over 4 years ago (that’s Canadian health care for ya). Anyways I was just wondering if anyone else has/had experienced something similar to this.
