I know I’m 2 years late to this reddit and show but I’m 40yo and I literally just finished watching season 3 last night. I’ve binged all 3 seasons in the space of a week.
I was trying to understand all week why I was suddenly so emotionally… distraught… but reading some posts on reddit have helped me understand why.
It really is a sense of intense FOMO mixed in with other emotions.
I love the show and I love the characters so so much and I’m so happy for Nick and Charlie. They’re the cutest couple and I never want anything bad to happen to them. Yet I feel envious of Charlie for having a bf like Nick, I’m envious of Nick for having Charlie who helped him realise who he was AND who was there to hold his hand through it all. I’m envious of the friend group they have, I’m envious of the open and honest relationships the characters have with each other and their families. I’m envious of Nick and Charlie’s relationship in general.
I, like many, never had any of it as a teenageyoung adult. And I feel really sad, flat, “depressed”, and messed up that I never will. And also sad for ‘what if’, maybe I could have had some of what they had if I had been different when I was younger.
I feel like no one will ever love me the way Nick loves Charlie (and the way Charlie loves Nick). I never felt like that until watching the show, and I know it’s because it’s very idealised and rose-tinted and everything that can go right does go right for them and I know that’s not how life is. And yet, I can’t help but feel a sense of ‘why not me?’
How long does this feeling of FOMO, depression, longing, like something is missing, pensiveness, last??
It also doesn’t help that Nick Nelson is like the most amazing character ever lol. It used to be everyone was looking for their Prince Charming… well I think it’s officially changed now to everyone is looking for their Nick Nelson.
I’m so tempted to rewatch the show again and again because it’s such a beautiful story and I really enjoyed being in that world, you really feel like you get to know the characters and are a part of their friend group but when it’s over… Nick and Charlie go on living their perfect fictional lives together, forever in love, happy… and you, the viewer, are left alone.

2025.01.24 01:30 kiwiqueenn My cat won’t stop attacking me and now has given me an infection
I have had my cat (1.5 yr old female calico) for about 1 year. She has always been playful but in the last 6-8 months has gotten really aggressive with me. Like attacking me out of the blue with her full might - I can be laying down, walking, or doing basically anything. I’ve noticed it does tend to happen when my partner leaves the house and when I am about to get in bed every night. She never attacks my partner though which is strange (I’m female and he is male not sure if that makes a difference?)
She got me really bad earlier this week and the wound has formed a lump underneath it and urgent care said it looked infected so I will be starting antibiotics. I am so fed up. We have tried more playing, playing before bed, clapping and saying no when she does it but nothing seems to help. I really don’t want to get her declawed but I am sick of being a target in my own home. Any advice on how to correct this behavior or why she may be acting this way?

I just had a run in with an honest to god Nazi at the HyVee gas in Mission. I was at the pump, minding my own business, when this guy rolls up to another pump, gets out and gives me the full on seig heil and shouts "White Power". I reflexively gave him the finger without thinking, and he unfortunately followed me for a few miles before I was able to lose him in traffic.

My dog had her sutures removed after 2 weeks since surgery for a MCT removal. The incision is on her head/ear. We left for a few hours and came home and there is a small hole and it was bleeding. I will call the vet tomorrow but wondering if I need to do anything tonight or if I can do anything to help it from getting infected before I can see the vet tomorrow. Will they have to re-stitch?
