2025.01.24 01:50 mooncheeseburger What Does This Mean for Me?
I (25F) just got diagnosed with DVT in my arm and a PE. I'm on blood thinners for at least six months now. This happened only a few days after I had moved states about a week ago. It's been a big whirlwind. I'm still waiting to see a gp here for the first time. I know the answer is talk to medical professionals but my experience so far has been with a fast paced emergency department. There hasn't been much opportunity to get answers and clarification.
I'm healthy. I drink so much water, I eat extremely clean, I don't smoke, I barely drink, I walk and hike and do pilates, I'm at a healthy weight and I'm young. I've recently found out that there have been 2 family members who've experienced clots (both of which are obese) - does this mean it doesn't really matter what I do?
I'm still looking for work as we've only just gotten here. I'm in the hospitality industry and while I'm looking at management positions again, it's still a really physical job. I've been told I can't lift heavy things. Can I still work?
I feel like I don't understand the scope of what I can and can't do going forward. What this means for my life and my health. Trying to find information and resources just leads to me terrifying statistics I can't deal with right now. Where do I start?

I'm just curious about people's commute times a week. With fully remote and hybrid work more abundant than ever I feel commute times have gone down overall. However, because of family issues and better opportunities for my wife and kid I may have to move further away from my current job which is as close as can be to my dream job. I've looked at options that would involve commuting, and it would take my 1 hour a week commute into a 10 hour a week commute. As for looking for other work close by to where id potentially move to I haven't seen anything that interests me like my current job does. Just curious what other people do for commute? What are some of your crazy commute stories? Am I crazy for thinking about commuting 10 hours a week for a hybrid position that I currently commute a little more than a hour for?

Terapagos is 14 pounds and in her backpack! Fuecoco is 21 pounds and it’s hopping on Roy’s back all the time.

Hi there! I (F28) was put on a 72 psychiatric hold when I was 15. It’s my understanding that those who have had 5150 holds aren’t allowed to own a firearm however, considering I was a juvenile at the time, would that still apply to me? For further context, im not trying to purchase or own a firearm. My best friend (M28) often goes to a shooting range in my city and has invited me several times to tag along. I’d love to, but I also don’t know if I’m allowed to be in possession of any guns let alone firing them. Thanks in advance!
