I’m a 28 year old trans woman who is 23 months on hrt. Current regime is 6mg of estradiol valerate every 3.5 days. Levels at trough and last draw are 164.6 pg/ml e2 and 20.2 ng/dl T. SHBG was 81.5 nmol/L. I do not believe my regime is optimal but that’s not why I’m here today. I’m currently in the Army National Guard (I’m keeping an eye on future policy and guidance) and with my current height and weight I do meet the standards for women. Losing the weight isn’t what scares me. What scares me is from my understanding of how fat is created and lost that the weight I would lose would also be more of the newer “feminine fat” I developed by eating more lately. I have read this sub about pioglitazone and was very interested. It seemed the closest I’d be able to “targeting” visceral fat around my gut as I get back into standard. But when I talked with my doctor this morning she pushed me (and I listened) into taking metformin instead. I managed to get my rx this afternoon but I haven’t taken it yet. My question is would metformin help still achieve my desired goal of losing weight around my waist with similar results of pioglitazone or did I just let my medical ignorance get talked into something that at best wouldn’t help me?

2025.01.24 03:30 Queef_Storm What effect does fasting paired with carnivore have for you? Better, worse, or the same?
And I don't mean for weight loss. I mean what is your experience with doing intermittent fasting or extended fasts when you're carnivore and already a healthy weight? Do you see any added benefit? Do you actually feel worse?
I remember seeing a short of Dr Anthony Chaffee on a podcast explaining that autophagy isn't increased by fasting but rather just by having your insulin low, which can be induced by fasting but carnivore can too even without fasting. Since then I have been curious about how many of the benefits of fasting are actually unique to fasting and not just low-carb to no-carb eating in general.
Personally, I'm just lazy about getting around to making breakfast and probably fast until the afternoon most days without meaning to, and I can't say I notice any difference on the days I eat sooner, but if I fast for too long - say, into late evening - then I start to feel fatigued.
What's your experience been?

This game is gonna fall off so quick due to the crappy state of the matchmaking and No Role queue, I can play every role decently but every game is just the same crap with the autolock 1 trick dps players.
If your a 1 trick in a hero shooter then your the reason that you never climb. Nothing worse than three auto lock dps characters who can’t even play the role they say they only play.
Because the state of the matchmaking I would have to say that OW is a much better game in general.
Does this game have EOMM? I feel like sometimes you get AI even in ranked games of this as teammates and against them.

The entire multiplayer is locked behind 3 tutorials. I have played this game before and there should be an option to skip it. But nope. You have to go through 3 annoying and long tutorials where you are forced to listen to dumb dialogue and do stuff you might already know. Ubisoft, Do better.

I only started watching basketball seriously a couple years ago so I really just don’t have any knowledge of how teams are able to actually construct contending rosters from the ground up.
I know we have a very solid base but it feels like we have so many holes that are so hard to fix. We don’t have a dominant defensive anchor, we are awful against perimeter shooting while we can’t shoot threes for shit ourselves, and there’s probably more problems with the team that I just haven’t picked up on. I could go on but I don’t want to get into our individual players in this post.
So, longtime hawks fans, do we even have the draft/trade capital to build a true contending team right now? Is Trae Young even a viable first option for a contender?
Sorry for this gloomy rant I just need some hope once again

A pipe burst in my big apartment building in Virginia today and did quite a bit of damage. Flooded areas from the seventh floor down to the basement.
The good news is that my (smallish, 2br) apartment was minimally affected. I got lucky and am about five feet out of the visible flood zone. The only real impact on my unit is some pretty obvious water damage on the walls and ceiling of my kitchen, due to water being inside/behind the walls themselves, and some pooling of water on the floor of my kitchen.
But my building has of course hired a big crew to set about cleaning things up and dehumidifying the place. Because my unit was, technically, affected, the crew has set up a few big loud fans and a large industrial dehumidifier in my kitchen. I've been told they will need to run undisturbed until at least "next week." I know how pernicious even small amounts of moisture can be in buildings, so I'm not going to question the prescription. But they're very loud and they've made the air in my apartment seem toxic (I don't know if it is or why it would be, but it tastes very chemically and has given me a headache in just the couple hours they've been running). I also work from home full-time and take a lot of meetings and cannot possibly do this while these machines are going. And my bedroom is right next to the kitchen, so sleep is … not likely to happen.
I know for sure that my insurance covers loss of use due to something like a water pipe bursting, as it has, but what I'm wondering is whether I can reasonably expect that to extend to a situation like mine, where the uninhabitability of my apartment is more of an indirect consequence of the pipe burst rather than a direct one, like if my walls and floor were totally sodden.

About 3 months ago we bought a TCL Fire TV and all was fine. Then about a week ago it decided that movies designated 4k on Disney+ (and only this app) won't play. We can watch Bluey, Toy Story, etc. But Wreck It Ralph or newer movies just have a black screen with the rating in the upper corner and the audio playing.
