I'm looking to get into home assistant and I'm trying to figure out what device to use. I think I want to eventually run it through proxmox and also run stuff like piHole/piAlert. I know raspberry pis are popular, but I don't have any right now and for a 5 or 4b with the desktop kit, they are like $120+. I also know that NUCs are popular and looking on ebay, there are a lot of them for like $50. Why would I go with a pi over a NUC? Or potentially a used usff pc? Just looking for opinons before I buy something.

Finally saw a drone! Long Island, NY Looks like a plane—didn’t behave like one! I stepped outside to leave around 7pm, and immediately saw a strange craft approaching from the South, flying very very low and quiet, unusually quiet for a craft so low! It went right over my house due North. I live near a private airport and have NEVER seen anything like it. It looks like a plane, but definitely was not. It had extremely big red lights in the front center, and I saw it in the sky amongst other planes as I was driving-it stood out like a SORE THUMB.

I am the first one to say aliens, but I believe it’s our government, or another nations government not alien in nature. It doesn’t break any laws of physics like other UAP/UFOs do. Also..aliens don’t use navigation lights that’s a human concept.

Libre 2 running high My numbers have been running higher than normal today so I checked my 1-hour post prandial with a finger stick and it showed 6.6 versus 7.8 on the Libre. I know it can be 20 minutes behind, but even after 20 minutes it was still at 7.3. I have gestational diabetes so I'm supposed to be under 7.8 at an hour so that would be high for me; I'm usually between 5.5 and 6.8 at 1 hour. The sensor has about 4 days left on it, do they get less accurate towards the end of their cycle? This is only the second time I've used one of thesem

2025.01.24 05:17 Hexantz Episode 2, BTS comments - What MDR is doing and why Cold Harbor is the key to a technological/spiritual conflict that will shape Severance.

Having watched episode 2, the BTS commentary and having this running theory for a while now, I think I know what MDR is and what the overall objective is.
Firstly, the BTS content today confirmed a few things. Firstly Helena (moreover the Eagans) consider innies as sub-human. Secondly they suggested that the key mission of lumon is still a direct consequence of "what Kier told his children at the beginning".
What do fundamentalists do to sub-humans if they have enough power and they get in the way of fundamentalist goals? They exterminate. Innies are an affront to creating the perfect human species and likely did not even come into consideration until the first chips were tested. MDR is the critical office created as a result of discovering innies.
MDR is set up as a direct and live interface between the chip and the innies. Innies and outies share direct connections which are held together by core events or memories which are bound by emotions (Tempers). MDR's job is to destroy the innie's ability to be another version of a sentient human. How you "feel" looking at the live data, is a direct link between the chip and the memories/emotions.
The Cold harbor screen showed us a direct connection between the chips and their tasks. Cold Harbor being Outie Mark's foundational connection to Gemma through unbearable Woe and Dread. Innie Mark is actively breaking the connection between Outie and Innie by working on this file. All MDR's work is about these connections, but Lumon has found love/tragedy to be the most critical and hardest to delete/separate.
Cobels experiments in season 1 are basically the "spiritual" counter to lumons technological work. She wants to prove re-intergration and uses Gemma/humanoid version of her to invoke the innie to access the outies core memories. When she was using Gemma in season 1, it was to experiment on how love can transcend and all the work MDR does (you can never delete love) in the severance process. However when innie Mark doesn't break through to make that connection, and Milcheck says "you know this is good right?" This was slap down Cobel spiritual argument and suggested MDR's work on the chips is actually working. So where does all this go? Outie Mark and Cold Harbor are the last critical breakthrough. Cold Harbor's completion deletes the final and most critical connection between innies and outies, love. They believe Mark is the key to solving this technological problem.
The fundamentalist Eagan cult/religion has sold severance has a productivity tool to the world, that they should be allowed to do this research and create a work force that never understands anything. A literal world of capitalist slaves that have no say or understanding of their work. But their ultimate goal? A severance chip in every head with one eventual Eagan (Helena or maybe Helan's offspring) as the leader of humanity that follows one doctrine, one set of beliefs to guide the future of humanity to salvation. A generational cult that sold world domination as a workplace productivity solution.
