Hello,
Beginning of August of last year, our boxer started having liquid diarrhea. This went on for several days so we decided to have her seen by our veterinarian. Her blood results showed elevated pancreatic enzymes and was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. We changed her diet to Hills digestive care and started feeding smaller meals throughout the day. However, the diarrhea continued, later started seeing weight loss Sept-Oct (56lbs > 45lbs), and drank a TON of water. After doing some research we started wondering if she had exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), so we got a second opinion. Her pancreatic enzymes were still elevated and she also had a low level of B12. Since then we have been doing B12 injections every other day. With this, she has maybe one soft solid stool but 95% still liquid diarrhea. Now we’ve introduced PancrePlus enzymes. She receives them with each meal and has been on them for 6 days. Now, she’s starting to spit up bile after her evening meal and does it several times into the night, but no solid food (she doesn’t do this with any other meals earlier in the day). We are at a loss of what to do. Chronic liquid diarrhea, 12lb weight loss, occasional spit ups, and large water intake. The rest of her blood work is healthy and she acts like her playful self otherwise. We are starting to wonder if there is something else going on in her GI system and that this isn’t all pancreatitis. Has anyone had any experience with EPI or IBD?

Kinda feels like I’ve plateaued. I no longer feel like I’m in that previous state, but now it feels like limbo. Today felt weird bc even tho it doesn’t feel like I’m in that state anymore where I feel nothing but guilt and shame, some past experiences are still brought into my awareness which either makes me cringe, and makes me feel anger towards ppl who have “wrong’d” me when I was in that coomer state. In previous streaks, those feelings usually dissipate around day 85. Not sure why they are still lingering around. I meditate hours per day. Weekends I treat like a meditation retreat. I quit drinking almost two months ago so also thinking that it might just be the ego being vicious as fuck and tryna do anything to get me back into that.
Does it keep getting better?

My cat recently had a urinary blockage, and we were struggling to figure out what to do since we didn’t have enough money for treatment. At one point, we thought we might have to just let nature take its course. But after a day, he peed on himself, which gave us some hope. We decided to take him to the most affordable clinic we could find.
Thankfully, he didn’t need catheterization, and we ended up spending about $3,000. His BUN level was initially at 115, and he stayed hospitalized for three days and two nights, receiving IV fluids, antibiotics, and pain medication. By the third day, his BUN dropped to 27, which was surprising. Honestly, I can’t help but wonder if everything was legit—I guess I just have some trust issues when it comes to vet bills.
Now he’s on a UR diet that the vet prescribed, along with amoxicillin and gabapentin. He’s peeing, though only a little at a time, and he’s a lot sleepier than usual. The vet also gave him flea medication, which we apply monthly to his shoulder blades. Apparently, stress and fleas were contributing factors to the blockage, although I hadn’t noticed any signs of fleas before this. I did see a couple on him after he came home, so now I’m wondering if he picked them up at the animal hospital.
I’m just looking for advice from anyone who’s dealt with a cat having a blockage that resolved without catheterization. Do you think the UR diet is enough to prevent this from happening again? I’m worried the blockage might not be fully cleared and could come back. His follow-up appointment is in a week, so we’re hoping for the best. Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated!
