As the original manuscript was not in English and I have read that there is no complete original, I assume there is a lot of room to take liberties with the source material when it is translated into English. I'm interested in reading it so I was wondering if there are translations that are considered to be more historically reliable? On the other end of the spectrum, are there editions historians would recommend a lay reader avoid?

2025.01.24 05:50 almost-free19 Apocalypse jacket, Nomad sweater & scarf review.
 | I just got back from spending a few weeks in Germany, Netherlands and Portugal and thought this would be a good time to throw in my two cents about the apocalypse jacket, Nomad wool sweater, Nomad scarf and ceramic t-shirt. Apocalypse jacket so far has been great, the pockets are extensive and I really like the look. I personally like to travel extremely light, just a personal backpack (personal item) no matter how long the trip is as you can see in the last photo. With this jacket I stored one pair of Darn Tough wool socks in each pocket along the back to add as insulation and free up available room in my bag. Sunglasses are also easy to hold in the front ammo straps, which is really practical. And of course, my passport and hidden cash stash always felt protected. Since the apocalypse jacket doesn’t have much insulation, which I’m planning on fixing by inserting strips of sheepskin that I’ll cut up or filling the pockets with down feathers. In the meantime, I just used my Nomad wool sweater, which is a little itchy at first, but just becomes like a second skin after daily use in my opinion. It kept me warm in 0 Celsius with the apocalypse jacket, Nomad scarf and ceramic t-shirt, but as soon as it warmed up I would overheat. Even while just wearing the sweater and a pair of pants. So the whole heat regulation aspect is full of shit in my opinion, still a nice sweater and has held up nicely so far after a few weeks of daily use. The Nomad scarf is also a great addition since the sweater doesn’t cover the neck and was plenty warm on my trip. I’ve never used a scarf or had one before this one, but I’d say it was made of quality wool, was the perfect length and perfect color to match everything. I have five ceramic y-shirts and wear them daily for everything from work to workout and everything in between. I wouldn’t say the ceramic beads help with abrasion, but I would say they make the t-shirt look good since they are in a honeycomb pattern. As for the durability of the t-shirt, so far they have persisted over the last year of daily use with no holes, but time will tell. I’ll post when I get my first hole in them. Overall I really like how practical they are for any activity. Only downside is that they are longer than they are an inch or so too long for a normal medium shirt. I just tried using the apocalypse jacket as a wind breaker when I ride my motorcycle around the Bay Area in California yesterday and it did a decent job. I was curious how I would fit the jacket into daily life, so perhaps this is it (no pic, but I’ll add a pic of my bike so you can imagine what it would look like together). Guys, the problem is the so called "evolution", especially now that it's associated with these confusing, stupid conceptualized categorizations of "lumps of talent" that separate people between "geniuses" and "talented learners", in a story that revolves around a single character, someone with no outstanding physical nor technical abilities but with an awesome football IQ.
Now, HOW MUCH can a player be focused on a game of mere 30 minutes divided in halves, and HOW much can his rivals be aligned to his focusness, to justify a ridiculous rapid growth from both sides? How steady can be a group of players be during its route to the realm of the best, to skip steps and be the best in the world starting from Japan's high school level, when the World Cup is scheduled in less than a year?
Let's go back to the distinction between "geniuses" and "talented learners". If you are defined by your attitude and not specifically by your skills and your talent, it means that EVERYBODY can be the best in the world. In fact, those are tricky and deceiving labels, hiding the fact that there's always a hierarchy of talented people, no matter how much you struggle to surpass your own limits. The only reason why Isagi is the main character is because Kaneshiro decided that the very epitome of "average guy" can be the best, when it's obviously impossible. And what did he do to overcompensate? He gave Isagi inhuman senses to perceive the world around him. How is this still "average"? What about Rin? He's definitely an hard-worker, it's shown here and there throughout the story: BUT does it show? No. He's blessed from the start, it's not like he wouldn't reach the top without Isagi, it'd just take more. He has the qualities, he has the talent. And Kaiser? He's a bit and a bit, he's apparently a talented learner with genius traits. And so on.
But in the end each player is traying according to his talent, and no label can define him properly. In fact, some tend to belittle even Nagi, though he's meant to be the genius of unfathomable power. But this is due to Kaneshiro's absurd depiction of reality, in which you are a "fraud" if you can't be always at the top from the get go, and you're the cream of the crop if you can immediately overcome every obstacle.
And to justify this pace, what does Kaneshiro do? He makes people "evolve" continuously, making them so strong, that apparently no future opponent can measure up. And that's why when an established player doesn't "perform", he suddendly gives off the aura of an overrated player, even a NG11 like Kaiser.
So, all in all, Kaneshiro's doing his best to patch things up, but he's stuck in this scenario where people is nowhere close to be taken seriously.
