Hi all,
I'm a British citizen who's been living in the US for the past 7 years as a software engineer, and my entire career thus far has been in the US.
I'm returning to the UK for personal reasons and am looking for new opportunities. I've spoken to several recruiters and applied to several roles online, but crickets so far.
I have a bad feeling that because of my US experience, UK recruiters and hiring managers may see me as "too expensive", and thus a flight risk.
Any advice appreciated!

2025.01.24 09:31 kailasthrowaway Did anyone else have a schoolwide "Hunger Games/Battle Royale" story involving members of your grade?
More of a Gen Z question, but one of my most distinct memories of middle school & early high school was how common it was for classmates to make "Hunger Games" stories where several classmates would all kill each other. Some stories would only last a few chapters before being abandoned, but a select few would end up being completed with a winner and everything. From memory, I can't say these stories were very good (they were written by edgy hormonal 6th-8th graders after all) but it was something that would pop up relatively frequently.
Within my circles of people consisting of people from different middle schools, it seems that this was a somewhat common trend. Perhaps my sample size was a bit small, but it does feel strange that 5 separate people have distinct experiences of writers from their own schools having made these kinds of stories for their classmates.
The Hunger Games series had four movies from 2012-2015, so I guess the timing makes sense, but can anyone else relate to this?

 | I made a post about a problem with the stroke eraser in the Note app after the 4.0 beta2 update, and also commented in a post by Boox. The problem was that the stroke eraser became too big after the update, so it was impossible to delete small letters/strokes without deleting the adjacent writings. This was really annoying and made the stroke eraser practically impossible to use. Today I received the 4.0 RC update where that problem is solved. The stroke eraser is now like a small point.
